I believe .380 is a better defensive round than the 9mm because is doesn't over penetrate. This is very useful in situations where you are dealing with an intruder in your home or apartment. Also, the current crop of specialized and effective .380 defensive rounds adds to the .380s capability.
I have been wanting one of these for years, as I believe the RIA family of 1911 pistols are excellent values for the money. Well, a "Baby" Rock arrived today at my FFL and I will be picking it up shortly. The salesperson told me that this is a very nice package. I own several .380 ACP pistols, had a Colt Mustang in the past, and I am really looking forward to handling and shooting this pistol, as the 1911 is what started it all for me. Good review!
Bought a baby rock, got the last 2nd clip in Amerika from Buds. Then found an Azula iwb, small of the back holster, 40 bucks and its so nice you quickly forget its on. 400.00 for a GOOD carry set up. I am going to add a little something on the grip safety just because of my huge paws. Then work on the dummy pulling the trigger. ps. I paid 310 for mine at Bi-Mart in Oregon in 2022.
glad to see a review on the baby rock, ive had mine for almost 2 years now and i love it. I shot 1911's in comp for 28 years and this little gun rocks. Only draw back is finding one, if you do you wont be sorry buying it. After market grips are out there just look, holsters require a bit of a search but the do exsist. great review and keep your powder dry, thanks
There is a company here in Brazil that is called Imbel and they make a 1911 in 380 acp double stack and single stack, models MD1 and MD1 GC, very reliable pistols here. Never miss your uploads Sootch, thanks.
I have a Llama IIIA in .380 ACP, it's a 40 year old Spanish 7/8th scaled down 1911. It's another option for you to seek if you're looking for a pistol like this.
I think a lot of people confuse the RIA name with Rock Island Arsenal, the US Army concern that builds artillery pieces and heavy gun mounts. That said, the Baby Rock is now perhaps my favorite .380 ever. I use to think my Tisas Fatih was until I bought one of these. I'm partial to almost any 1911 type weapon, but having a smaller frame in the .380 caliber puts the icing on the cake. I wouldn't mind having the smooth "pallet wood" grips like what came on my standard RIA GI 1911. I like those.

It's true, they are hard to find but they are getting more plentiful. Best place to find them is at gun shows. I love mine and it's my everyday carry and my ammo I use for carry is Underwood 90 gr Extreme Penetrator.
Hey Don! Well, thanks to you I bought this pistol yesterday and fired 250 rounds with only two problems with failure of the slide to lock back after the last round, other than that ran smooth. Really enjoy it and enjoy your reviews!
Still liking it? Mine has run ~300 rounds without much issue. It didn't like one variety of Federal hollow points one bit. I forget the exact round. But otherwise, zero complaints!
Have a Rock Island in .22TCM/9mm and love that gun. Never a single issue with it and quite a wicked little round. Going to look at this one as well. Less recoil means more rounds on target faster and that narrows the argument of .380 vs 9mm very nicely.
I had no idea this existed but i need one! I currently carry a 3” kimber 45 but have been wanting another 380 to replace a sig 238 that i had years ago. This looks like a winner! Move over kimber micro! The grip safety is what really sells me. I appreciate the extra level of protection.
If any of you are having an issue with the slide stop pushing itself out of the frame after racking with an empty magazine, the cure is a new slide stop. RIA sent one to me at no cost and the gun is great once again. The base of the stop that contacts the magazine follower is shaped wrong on some. The new one and the old one are very different. Customer service was great, by the way.
I got the wife one two months ago, about 350rds through it no problems minus the first two rds of jhp at the 200td mark but then finished four straight Mags no problems. Good beginner pistol
Bought my first RIA FS 45 about 5 or 6 years ago and have around 3000 rounds through it. Just changed out the barrel for a new factory one yesterday.. I own 4 of these well made pistols.
Great review, Rock Island Armory has a good following out here, great pistols, I am planning on ordering one, keep up the great work, Long Live the Republic.
I just bought one of these to use as a backup. It’s a great looking pistol! All I need to do is target practice with it, and break it in. Never thought about owning another .380 until I found this 1911 style look which I conceal carry a 1911 compact.
I bought one for my wife last Christmas. It's currently at their repair facility in Pahrump, NV for the 2nd time. Hopefully they can fix the issues where the slide returns to battery simply by inserting the magazine as well as the chronic failures to eject. It is a fun and accurate little gun outside of the issues.
That's my next handgun purchase. I have their single stack 1911 10mm and also their M-200 .38 special revolver. No issues with either one, any ammo works flawlessly. The baby rock will be perfect for summer concealed carry.
Very cool defense tool. 😎 My opinion is steel is better than plastic. Sights? A 380 is a close range self defense weapon and those sights look adequate. I want good sights on my .357.
Browning has nonmetal frame (does have sub frame). The rod isn’t metal in browning either. The rock island has lifetime warranty I believe also. And the rock will save you tens to hundreds. I held them both. Loved my baby rock and have being carrying it for years
Yet another great video!!! As far as .380 pistols go, I've had a tough time getting one for my wife. She doesn't like the bersa or any of the "micro" .380 pistols. You just solved my problem!!! Cost has been an issue for her, again, problem solved!!! By the way, thanks for the nod to the "idiot scratch"! Now I'm on the hunt for one for her! Keep'em comin' Sootch!!!
Thanks for the heads up on how to handle accidently engaging the safety. I have a Sig 938 and as a right hander I often engages the left ambi safety and it's annoying. I know I'm eventually going to do it but every time I do it takes me a minute to figure out why the gun wouldn't shoot. Your simple solution to the problem only leaves me wondering why the hell I didn't think of it. Thanks
It's a llama 380 I pulled up a parts diagram for the llama and for the baby rock and put them next to each other and other than different grips every single part is identical
I own a 5" .45ACP from RIA. It is an excellent pistol; the trigger is light and crisp, and I cannot remember the last time it had a stoppage. Buy with confidence.
No, you heard it wrong. He said Rock Island was not involved in that mess in Illinois, where Springfield and Rock River Arms did an anti second amendment move.
Thanks Sootch!....great review buddy, this pistol looks like a great size for a 380 because even though its small its still big enough to be a comfortable shooter
I specially like the proportions. It looks like a shrunken down 1911 (a good thing) No largish or extra thin slide like the Bodyguard or diamondback, and no awkward grip handle. Nice!
Nice 1911...great video. Your reviews make this all worth while. Like the .380 caliber, easy to carry in the pocket and always armed. Good going pardner God Bless
The Baby Rock weighs 24 ounces and $375 but the browning only weighs 16 ounces or 18 ounces for the 4 1/4" Of course. I see the Browning advertised for $445 at Bud's Guns.
I saw one of these tucked away in an out of the way corner of the gun case of my local gun shop. So, I started researching it and the reviews seem to be positive...maybe not too much aftermarket support for this pistol yet, but it's definitely on my to buy list. Nice work Sootch.
If you look at both of his mags, they have seven witness holes, so they should hold 8 rounds. On gunbroker and RIA website all mags are 7 rounds and have 6 witness holes. That one round might be a deal breaker for me.
Check out the SIG We The People. 380 or 9. I'd like it for a pocket carry. Thinking about getting my wife the 9, she would love it for her purse. Not sure about buying two lol. Good day RP.
Bersa Thunder .0380 acp is a cracking little pistol, make a few different models to cater for different needs,I have the combat, which holds 8+1,they they do make a thunder plus which holds 15+1 which mite work if your state allows. sootch00 does a review on them probably around $100 less than the Baby Rock but this is also a cracking little pistol. He also mentions in his review of the thunder that there life time warranty is one of the best around, any problems, they back up there warranty. It also runs very very reliable,I`ve had zero issues using HP,FMJ and its also +P rated.
I'd like to know what .380 I should buy for my wife to carry, We are getting up in age and she has lupus which makes her hands hurt to shoot a pistol with much recoil, I carry a 1911 .45ACP, she use to shoot it and she had a SIG .40 and shot them without problems but she can no longer shoot much more then our Browning Target.22..... Advise would be appreciated and thanks
Hi Protek, I'm not a professional but my best recommendation would be to take her to a range where they supply rentals so she can try about any or all handguns. Even if it takes her a couple times going, it's good fun too! Best of luck to you both and safe happy shop and shooting.
Great timing Sootch, iwas just showing this to my daughter last night.. On line that is .. They are hard to find.. She really likes the action of my 1911 but wants the .380 round as.. And i dont mind saying that that yungin' can shoot.. Thanks for another great review! I'll probably have to have one too..
Oooooo! New camera angles! I like neat guns like this. I tend to be more practical with my firearms so don't end up getting these. Fortunately for me guys like you show me all the goodies.
This is a great little gun, I just picked one up at a gun show. It does not however, like my normal defense round, which is the G2 Civic Duty. I have frequent failure to feeds with this round, and that is largely because of the sharp points on the round. I imagine it would struggle with the G2 RIP ammo as well. This is leading to me changing to a new defense round, just for reliability sake, but I am okay making that change.
I've bought a lot guns due to your reviews and have been pleased. Bought this one , pure junk. Its been back to RIA twice , still problems. It will spend the rest of its life and mine tucked way back in the safe in eternal darkness.
I was under the assumption that because Rock Island Arsenal is a military organization in the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa, that Rock Island Armory was connected to them. You can also get an ambidextrous safety and three dot trijicon sights. I think you can get wooden grips also.
Rock island 1911’s seem to be great solid pistols. I bought a GI standard version from them and it runs flawless with any mag I have for it Wilson combat some colt and macgar mags. Also didn’t seem to mind hollow points or FMJ I love it so far
I just received a new Baby Rock and its trigger pull is far heavier than Sooch's, roughly double. As yet Armscor refuses to correct under warranty or for payment, claiming that "for safety" it needs to be 7--9 lb. Yet I will bet anything they have not recalled all their 1911's and Baby Rocks with 5 lb trigger pulls. I am not happy with this customer no-service but will post an update if they improve their act.
Gotta say I do like the linkless bbl. & simple 1911 design of this lil 380. Its still a bit large for a 380 (to me anyways), but I bet is a fun range gun. It wont replace my Sig 380 or my chiefs special, but it does have a place...thanks bro Sootch, best wishes, MIKE.
I like this gun (and the Browning) My gripe is that it is too big for a .380. If I am going to carry a .380 it is going to be my 14 oz. S&W Bodyguard...That said I DO own, and carry occasionally, a Colt M1903 .32 ACP which is about the same size and is chambered for an even less powerful cartridge. I'm torn on this one. I already have 3 .380's , 2 of them smaller than this and one about the same weight, but still smaller (Walther PPK) I have 3 9mm handguns about this size and weight. But I like it. But then, I like 1911s.
Thank you sootch00, you always give straightforward reviews on firearms thank you so much it's especially needed now that we have so many new gun owners !!
Ooooohhhh that Rock Island looks great!!! Definitely looks like it would fit about any hand like a glove. Way better than a Sig p238 and even that pistol feels good to hold, shoot, carry etc.......that low bore axis though...... I tell you RIA is no joke. Got a Kimber CDP 2 pro .45 and my RIA standard 1911 racks so much more smooth. Due mind the Rock is full length 1911 barrel ; the Kimber 4". No problems with EITHER pistol and both work flawlessly. Got to say I'll always have a RIA next to my other 1911s.
I recently acquired a 1974 (new condition) Llama .380 variant 3 which is the same size as the Baby Rock, I wonder who was it that first produced a mini 1911? I know Llama had a model out in 1955 which was the variant 1. I paid $150.00 dollars for my Llama sill in its box and only 7 rds missing out of the original box of shells that was bought with the gun. The problem with the Llama is its age and parts availability, I wanted some extra magazines and used that cost me $60.00 (each) I wanted to preserve the factory grips, so aftermarket Walnuts from Turkey cost me $35.00 + $10.00 to ship, then I had to buy wood grip screws @ $12.00 for the set of four. Now, when I got the gun for $150.00 I felt like I got a great deal because online they are selling for $350.00 and up to collectors! but I'm not a collector and in the end I could have gotten the Baby Rock for about the same money, but I do have a VERY NICE vintage mini 1911 Llama 380.
I have Rock Island 1911 in 10mm and really like it and I didn't know they offered this pistol. It is making it tough for me to choose. I am considering a Sig P238 and P938, Bersa .380, Kimber Micro9. There is so many choices and the prices vary widely. I don't want to pay Sig prices, but they are very good. This may be a good choice for me. I wish they offered it in 9mm.
a philipine copy of a Llama pistol, the model IIIA made by Gabilondo y Cia in Spain since the 70s until the 90s. If you dont believe me, check it in the web.
It's HUGE compared to a Ruger LCP. I carried a Colt Government .380 for a while (pocket carry) because it was low profile, but there are 9MMs smaller than these guns, now
I had a Colt Government Pocketlite, not a Mustang like you compared to... I'm just wondering how it compares to the Government Model Pocketlite? There's a difference between the two, the 7 shot Mustang and the 8 shot Government Model. I loved that little gun... went right into the pouch on the front seat cover of the truck or back pocket of a pair of Levi jeans. It loved Federal Hydroshock and Winchester Silvertips... I'm watching the video on TV as I comment on my phone... Colt's had a link system like you said and also a single locking lug. Would this Rock Island be considered a straight blowback? Never noticed, now I'm going to hafta check out all their 1911's. It also looks to have a solid ejector linked to the bottom frame and the Colt's was pivoting .

You experienced gun guys really should start adding double action or single action to your commentary. I am new to carrying and I am doing my research. I want an all steel double action... but that seems to be left out of a lot of video reviews. It may be obvious to the life long gun enthusiasts, but it isn't to us who are still learning.
My question is where the heck did Sootch FIND the little bugger? I've been looking all over and none of the distributors I normally check with seem to even carry it... much less have it in stock.
Sootch, I've got a question. Have you ever heard of someone with a large hand not being able to shoot a pistol like this reliably because when trying to engage the trigger, the inner web of their hand actually rides back and thereby disengages the grip safety? I've experienced this on another 1991. It was actually a Dan Wesson in 9 mm which is a gorgeous handgun. I don't seem to have this problem on a full size .45 1911 or a 1911 with a "bump" on the grip safety. I like this Baby Rock and was just curious If I might experience the same dis-engagement of the grip safety?
I go to you first 'cause I trust you, and you don't waist time. I saw this model and wanted to know more, however, you mentioned the "non-linked" (good) design, but did I miss the locking system? The blowback style, like on my 1908 type IV (Colt Hammer Less), has a stiff spring, and I (call me a wimp) do not like that. So is this a Blowback?
Dude you got to change your background music. 🎶 maybe some classic rock🎸? Sounds like a hello kitty video.🐱 Was waiting for shooting stars💫 & unicorns🦄 to jump out the woods.😜 Just bustin' you! Love your videos & reviews!
1oz heavier than a springfield XD with 13/16 rd cap, had a colt 380 mustang , could be a little finicky on some ammo " (FTE ) but way lite" 27oz 380 dayamm" full size 1911 45 are 30. 32oz. hmmmm" fixed front sight na" like my night sights in 3 dot
If I don't get a 1911 in 45 I would get it in 380 why because it was desinged for 45 and a 380 is an exact scaled down 380 just like a 380 1911 is an exact scaled down which would make it more reliable in my opinion I've heard all sorts of people ask why the 9mm and 380 projectile is so different and that's because Browning designed those 2 rounds and the 380 was kust a 78% 45. Always by firearms in the models they were designed for. If I'm gonna get it in 9mm I'd get the lightweight commander cause it was actual built from the ground up around the 9mm when you get a item in a different caliber but kept the oriental designs and just have different springs in it to compensate for different pressure I've seen it's less reliable.
Maybe a case of Apples/Oranges, but how would you compare this to the Bersa .380? I get the issue of keeping in line with your collection of 1911s, but - disregarding that point - how would this .380 compare to the Bersa rather than against higher-branded .380s?
This looks to be about the same size as the Bersa and I think the weight is close. The differences I see are the trigger and this gives you a single action first shot rather than the double action of the Bersa. Hope this helps.
Did you have any problem with the beaver tail ? I had one of the Baby Rocks and the beaver tail would cut the web of my hand every time I shot it. So I ended up selling it . It did shoot great.
Just bought one, NIB. Unfired impressions are good fit and finish, fits my smaller hands great, Hammer spring almost takes two hands to cock, 3 different magazines VERY hard to load (strong springs that stack up) will not accept Winchester White Box FMJ semi flat nose, slide release VERY Hard with empty mag inserted, trigger feels like 10 -12 lbs. Will break in with a couple of hundred rounds and see if it loosens up.
I believe .380 is a better defensive round than the 9mm because is doesn't over penetrate. This is very useful in situations where you are dealing with an intruder in your home or apartment. Also, the current crop of specialized and effective .380 defensive rounds adds to the .380s capability.
Glad to hear I'm not the only person who feels like 9mm is too much for most situations.
A nine with good hollow points shouldn't over penetrate.
I, like it ! I, purchased my 45 cap GI model last June when my state went Constitutional Carry Indiana.
380 does over penetrate many people, it is still very strong and fast. 10-12 inches penetration for 380 ACP
The subsonic cartridges are easier on the ears. In an emergency situation you will not have any ear protection. Half the recoil.
I carried a 1911 when I was in the military, and I've always admired Rock Island, this will probably be my next backup !!
I got one years ago, and it has never jammed. Ever, no matter what I fed it. It is my pocket gun.
I have been wanting one of these for years, as I believe the RIA family of 1911 pistols are excellent values for the money. This size but slightly larger in 9mm would be a huge win for them. Like the EMP but not $1200.
Also not from Springfield Armory, like the EMP.
They should be able to do the 9mm in this size. THAT would be awesome!
I like that idea, Joe.
joe, i agree.
Joe Morrell i think they may have them chambered in 9mm

Victor Hugo Nobre A doublestack .380 1911 would be a very fun pistol to shoot; I bet the recoil is almost nonexistent. Talk about rapid fire!
yes, its a recoiless pistol check out some videos of a Imbel MD1 GC
Ill have to check them out thanks for the info

In 1976 my Dad had the Llamas in 22lr and 380. He liked them both.
I have a llama mini 1911 looks about the same size ,wonder if the mags would fit the llama??

Videos like this are bad for my bank account.
Hey we must go to the same bank. My account is bleeding 🩸 out😉👍🏻
Yes indeed
Literally went in the gun store yesterday to buy something else and saw this on the shelf for 350 brand new. Yep had to buy it and did.
I'd like to see them release a Baby Rock in a double-stacked magazine with 13-15 rounds. What a back-up _that_ would be!

I just got mine today. Going to shoot it later.
Dee Dish Got mine for about 330 New with tax.
Just purchased one today at 11am , I cant wait to have something to carry that I don’t have to holster , good shooting fellas
It's true, they are hard to find but they are getting more plentiful. Best place to find them is at gun shows. I love mine and it's my everyday carry and my ammo I use for carry is Underwood 90 gr Extreme Penetrator.
Keep an eye out at Rural King or on RKGuns. That's the only place I've seen them available.

Why did you change out the barrel?
You generally can shoot them better, helps mitigate recoil, what's the best caliber to shoot, the one you hit your target with !!
Great review, Rock Island Armory has a good following out here, great pistols, I am planning on ordering one, keep up the great work, Long Live the Republic.
Rock Island has been producing 1911's for a very long time, they are well known for their guns, this would make a nice backup sidearm !!
SW .380 Bodyguard. Best 'back up' pistol on the planet. Half the size of this and more than half the weight. 7rds .380 ACP
I just bought one of these to use as a backup. It’s a great looking pistol! All I need to do is target practice with it, and break it in. Never thought about owning another .380 until I found this 1911 style look which I conceal carry a 1911 compact.

Sootch00 why dont you do a comparison on the Baby Rock 380 vs the Browning 1911 380 Black Label.
Thanks
also the Llama Micromax 380
Browning has nonmetal frame (does have sub frame). The rod isn’t metal in browning either. The rock island has lifetime warranty I believe also. And the rock will save you tens to hundreds. I held them both. Loved my baby rock and have being carrying it for years
And baby rock doesn’t have an ambi safety. Carry well
I have the Browning 1911 380 Browning Black Label it's a beauty for a lightweight carry.
I'm looking at the Browning black label. Really like the finish on it. But 380 ammo is a mythical ammo for me.
Reminds me of a Llama .380 I had 40 years ago! Not really a novel idea but... I loved my Llama when I had it!
Rock Island is coming out with some great stuff. I'm thinking about their 6" 10mm 1911
Kevin Bosquez I have their 4.25" and 5" 10mm pistols. You will be very happy with the 6"
Nice
I own a 5" .45ACP from RIA. It is an excellent pistol; the trigger is light and crisp, and I cannot remember the last time it had a stoppage. Buy with confidence.
What has rock island armory done that makes him say they are a mess?
No, you heard it wrong. He said Rock Island was not involved in that mess in Illinois, where Springfield and Rock River Arms did an anti second amendment move.
Thanks Sootch!....great review buddy, this pistol looks like a great size for a 380 because even though its small its still big enough to be a comfortable shooter
That mustache and music combination made me wish I had worn my sailor outfit.
Now I want one.
Good going pardner
God Bless
This pistol is way to big for pocket carry ! Just like the Browning model !
@@deadbang241 not hoodie or fanny pack carrying lmao
Rock Island armory is famous for their 1911s, I would have no problem owning one !!
Looks like one of the mini-Llamas from back in the day.
Robert L yes one of reasons I bought one 2 years ago for me it's just a fun little range gun
Llamas have been resurrected by Eagle Imports. I wonder if that and the Baby Rock can share mags.
Good question
I Lost my llama in the lake. Awesome hand gun. I truly miss mine. Been looking for another one for years now

Metro Arms is making them- good company known for a quality product
The Baby Rock weighs 24 ounces and $375 but the browning only weighs 16 ounces or 18 ounces for the 4 1/4" Of course. I see the Browning advertised for $445 at Bud's Guns.
I saw one of these tucked away in an out of the way corner of the gun case of my local gun shop. So, I started researching it and the reviews seem to be positive...maybe not too much aftermarket support for this pistol yet, but it's definitely on my to buy list. Nice work Sootch.
That would be nice in 9mm to. Sweet 1911 got to get one or two
If you look at both of his mags, they have seven witness holes, so they should hold 8 rounds. On gunbroker and RIA website all mags are 7 rounds and have 6 witness holes. That one round might be a deal breaker for me.
I've been looking for a carry gun to replace my colt .380, this might be it. Thanks for the review sootch.

Love 1911. I have the Rock Island 10mm and the 45acp great guns
"I'll take two, one in stainless steel and one parkerized" ;-) Great gun!
Thank you for giving us different view's of the gun in your hand it gives us a good idea of just how big it is
I've bought a lot guns due to your reviews and have been pleased. Bought this one , pure junk. Its been back to RIA twice , still problems. It will spend the rest of its life and mine tucked way back in the safe in eternal darkness.
Which problem do you have?
Browning invented the .380 ACP, so it is a good pairing.
Reminds me of men in black when will smith gob his first alien pistol- noisey cricket
We just got two in at work. After watching your video and other reviews, one will come home with me tomorrow. Good review.
I was under the assumption that because Rock Island Arsenal is a military organization in the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa, that Rock Island Armory was connected to them. You can also get an ambidextrous safety and three dot trijicon sights. I think you can get wooden grips also.
Always a solid reviewer. Excellent information presented in an easy way to understand
I bought one about 2 years ago got it just because it's a 1911 paid under $400 I like it its a fun little 1911 ....
The Llama /Firestorm 380 was identical and sold for $259.00 a few years ago,
Rock island 1911’s seem to be great solid pistols. I bought a GI standard version from them and it runs flawless with any mag I have for it Wilson combat some colt and macgar mags. Also didn’t seem to mind hollow points or FMJ I love it so far
I'm really intrigued I have a rock in 9mm and I love it.
Great review
eltenda fabrizio where on this earth did you find a baby rock in 9mm?? Or is it full size??
I just received a new Baby Rock and its trigger pull is far heavier than Sooch's, roughly double. As yet Armscor refuses to correct under warranty or for payment, claiming that "for safety" it needs to be 7--9 lb. Yet I will bet anything they have not recalled all their 1911's and Baby Rocks with 5 lb trigger pulls. I am not happy with this customer no-service but will post an update if they improve their act.
I'm gonna but one tomorrow, put it on hold today. $308.00
I really like this gun. Sootch, thanks for a great review. Well done!
Own one, let my sister borrow it for an EDC, after watching this video I'm getting it back!
I think I'd take this over a Sig P238 or even a Walther PPKs. Nice little design at an affordable price.
Nice little piece there. Have you heard anything yet about the CPX 3 in .380 acp. from SCCY? Have only seen one vid from them.
a philipine copy of a Llama pistol, the model IIIA made by Gabilondo y Cia in Spain since the 70s until the 90s. If you dont believe me, check it in the web.
Because you said, to check other reciews, to get a well rounded decision! Is why i Subscribed! An honest review and advice. Thumbs up.

Don't see many .380ACP 1911s.
They are kinda cute though
Absolutely outstanding review of the Rock Island 1911 .380 ACP. Very informative, very much appreciate your time, effort and willingness to share your thoughts and demonstration.

@13.48 Scootch says 27.5 Oz. The Kimber Ultra Carry II in .45ACP is 25 Oz.
I heard the dog bark after each round, that was humorous.
Very light,compact and cute
Those damn BLOOPERS SOOTCH...LMDAMNAO!!
Charles Conway Out of stock at grab a gun.com for 369$.
They sell out so fast....Try The-Armory.com
My local gun shop has them in stock
Looks snappy especially for being in you big hands.
Do you know if you can drop an Apex trigger in?
Sootch, I've got a question. Have you ever heard of someone with a large hand not being able to shoot a pistol like this reliably because when trying to engage the trigger, the inner web of their hand actually rides back and thereby disengages the grip safety? I've experienced this on another 1991. It was actually a Dan Wesson in 9 mm which is a gorgeous handgun. I don't seem to have this problem on a full size .45 1911 or a 1911 with a "bump" on the grip safety. I like this Baby Rock and was just curious If I might experience the same dis-engagement of the grip safety?
Idk about this gun but I have a browning 1911 380 and I have large hands and have no issues with the beavertail.
Wonder if they have some single-stack mags for it with 10,12,15 rounds available as a back-up, 2nd mag.
Thanks for your great review went to my dealer and purchased a used baby 1911380 Rock
Looking at this gun for my wife as a home defense pistol, but she's recoil sensitive. Does the weight help mitigate the recoil?
Like some of the comments below, the baby rock 9MM would be a awesome CCP!!!! Love the 1911, great review as always.
