    It’s quite simple for any aspect of the hobby - if you’re not going crazy super long range(FPV), need signal to go through stuff like trees or even buildings (FPV), or need to control a large number of models with a lot of complex controls like gears, flaps, lights, smoke, trims, animating a pilot, and non standard control surfaces, etc - just get the number of channels you need and a fit/budget that works from a reputable brand. Anything above the cheapest and worst reviewed radios won’t cut out on you for basic and even pretty advanced models while flying line of sight.
    I fly 6ch rc helis and have barely needed to use half of the switches on my radio. I realized a lot of the excessive controls and trims are actually meant for older days of flying when the pilot did have to do a lot of trimming and tuning to do mid flight. If you fly with a flight computer (standard with helis) rather than purely mechanical, you absolutely barely need more than basic controls.

    I'm not left handed, and using mode 1, and i don't find any difficulty to fly. It just depend on the country you start flying. It is like cars in France vs UK for exemple.

    • @F3HDemonDriver1
      @F3HDemonDriver1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, But here in the US Most Mode-2 pilots are right handed and Most Mode-1 are lefty's but like you said it doesn't pertain to everyone.

    Hey so I bought a used tower hobbies tail dragged has everything but the radio and receiver, plain and simple what do I need??????

    • @calebbautista7243
      @calebbautista7243 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buy a receiver of you choice that has the correct amount of channels for your plane (if it is 4 channel, buy a 4 channel transmitter. if it is 5+ channel, buy a minimum 5 channel transmitter). When you find a transmitter, make sure to buy the responding receiver and attach it to your plane. go through binding process, connect servos, and you can fly.

    • @F3HDemonDriver1
      @F3HDemonDriver1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course just not the other way round, but yes indeed a 6-channel radio can easily control a 4-channel plane.

    Interesting vid, I can dig it. If one is planning to fly helis & airplanes, which set-up is more ideal to get?
    As in, I actually backordered a Futaba 18sz 70 anniversary edition. Believe it was the helicopter version, so smooth sticks movement compared to ratcheting movement. Now I'm not aware if that covers the mode as well. I'm right handed, so I should I be looking for mode 2 correct?
    Went all in for a first time stick tx because of possible future projects. Gliders, airplanes, helicopters, robotics application, etc... Futaba 16iz, maybe get as stepdown backup(not much of a step down I might add).
    Never flew anything & planning to practice on simulator w/18sz 70 as much as I can before any major kit purchase. I'm of the type where I study & break things down to the point of, okay now I overstand it. Going from surface R/Cs to air R/Cs is a whole new discipline. I'm the type to read up & wants to build a kit from the ground up & put my own components together. So big learning curve ahead understanding all the balancing act of components on collective pitch for example. Like challenges & learning, so I'll dig slow & go: actual tx connected to sim, study guides of heli/planes, complete breakdown of balance, weight, components, etc...
    Just wanted to give a good overall of my future plans & what inputs you may have on if a helicopter setup is in mode 2 or 1, as I'm right-handed & felt smooth stick movement would benefit me most right now because of so many other things I want to use these for. Ratcheting movement may not suit later on, but for only when airplanes come up(which I think a glider may be first up for me).
    Thank you for any input offered & hope I gave a clear idea of what I'm trying to be open towards. Got more(Tx 18sz 70th anniv) then what I need to cover expanding future channel options...
