My uncle, who died away many years ago, published this music video. The fact that this video has received millions of views is astounding. This, I suppose, is one of his legacies: allowing people all around the world to enjoy this beautiful piece of music. Vivaldi's Four Seasons are all fantastic. However, I believe Winter stands out because of the contrast between the stinging and urgent first movement and the smoothness of the tranquil second movement. This gem is one that could be listened to every day.

All Four Seasons by Vivaldi are brilliant. But I think Winter still stands out, with such a biting and exciting first movement and then the smoothness of the serene second movement in contrast. Indeed, one could listen to this masterpiece every day.

As well as Beethoven's 5th symphony. I kinda feel that he (Beethoven) tells an history about love and regretting. At least, that's what i think. *Note: Both Vivaldi And Beethoven are (were) amazing songwriters.*
***** Music makes people feel different things - if this is what you feel then it is perfectly valid and you are perfectly entitled to voice what you think - take care!
Just curious, as I don't run across women who appreciate Baroque era composers...are you aware of Yiruma? A south Korean composer. My favorite of his is Kiss the Rain...definitely a Baroque influence on his work.

»The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren; And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram; And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon; And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias; And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa; And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias; And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias; And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias; And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon: And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel; And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor; And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud; And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob; And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of The Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of The Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.« (The Gospel of Jesus Christ - Matthew - Chapter 1)
I think there's a misconception in the world that orchestral music is considered bourgeois or sophisticated and I hate it. Composers of earlier times do the same thing as composers of this day and age; express something in the form of sound. Even though the cost of creating such performances was great, these composers weren't well off, they were just lucky enough to have their talent exposed to people who gave them a chance. The baroque and classical community may be flooded with psudo-intellectuals and no good connoisseurs, but the good composers who write this stuff have no flowery ideas about their writing. They are people who know how to feel, and I can hear the feeling vivaldi put into this. Please appreciate this music for what it can do, a persons lifetime is captured within these pieces and I think you can find new feelings in yourself when you listen to it.
Though you are right, I don't find it disheartening or wrong that people find classical music sophisticated, I sometimes feel rather pleased that people feel that way not to say that only intellectuals are allowed to listen but in a sense to know that when you listen to this music it feels rather sophisticated I find that aspect quite beautiful, but I feel that you are right in certain points

As well as Beethoven's 5th symphony. I kinda feel that he (Beethoven) tells an history about love and regretting. At least, that's what i think.
*Note: Both Vivaldi And Beethoven are (were) amazing songwriters.*
***** Music makes people feel different things - if this is what you feel then it is perfectly valid and you are perfectly entitled to voice what you think - take care!
yeah it was like the "metal" of its time!
Just curious, as I don't run across women who appreciate Baroque era composers...are you aware of Yiruma? A south Korean composer. My favorite of his is Kiss the Rain...definitely a Baroque influence on his work.
DisgruntledIRSemployee Thank you I will check that out. I love all kinds of music - my father and grandfather were great lovers of classical music - grandfather was an Opera fanatic - thanks again ~ Lorraine
This video is oddly beautiful

it’s nuts thinking about it
No importa la cantidad de veces que lo escuche, siempre me pone la piel de gallina...
Esa era la idea de Vivaldi, recordar lo tan divertido y cruel que puede ser el invierno

I come alive every single time I hear this. Oh if it were possible I would exist in just these 8 minutes. God is present in each second... This is heaven!
If it helps, Vivaldi was a priest 😊
This work has always been in a corner of my life. Thanks Vivaldi.
And after 298 years this is a capodopera in music, forever and ever!❤
Vivaldi's genius will live on forever, the second movement is so magical...

I adore the fact that there are people of all races/heritage/backgrounds all appreciating this masterpiece by Vivaldi and the wonderful performers.
I just want to know who those peoplel are who come here and thinks "meh, thumbs down."
This music is emotion. Emotion like this, give us eternity.
Una de las piezas de música más hermosas y perfectas de la humanidad. Agradezco a la educación de mi país el acierto de habernos hecho escuchar y estudiar esta obra magistral.
What country?
I don't know what I love more, the costumes, or the music?
A mi me. Paso en Madrid viendo los cuadros de picasso... Sentí algo muy parecido
🥰 qué bellísimo lo expresaste: "mi alma se carga de energía"🥰☺️👍
Melodías del alma❤️
The melody and beauty of this music do not fade and deteriorate no matter how many years pass, this song will live for an unlimited time...
What wonderful music!! Our Vivaldone!! 🇮🇹💙
»The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.«

People who is sad that it's only 8:14 minutes and not longer...i guess
Didn't start properly that's why ig?
Though you are right, I don't find it disheartening or wrong that people find classical music sophisticated, I sometimes feel rather pleased that people feel that way not to say that only intellectuals are allowed to listen but in a sense to know that when you listen to this music it feels rather sophisticated I find that aspect quite beautiful, but I feel that you are right in certain points
hicore I've been poor all my life and I love "Winter" , Mozart and many other classical composers and great performances.You're stereotyping.To many,it's a matter of what touches your soul.This is by no means the best interpretation of the piece..Lighten up.
***** they weren't stereotyping they were actually taking your side maybe you should learn to comprehend a bit better
hicore I couldn't have said it better myself
hicore It's quite true that many composers had rough aspects of their lives, especially with money. Vivaldi died impoverished.
Music/art is without a doubt the most purest of creations by humanity
Classic Music is eternal... ❤ It doesn't get old at all
I'm blown away this video has 40+ million views. I didn't expect so many internet users to appreciate the fine arts.

Que belleza , se llena mis ojos.

Vivaldi had no business making songs that go as hard as this one. One of my favorites tbh.
No sé porque esta canción siempre me llena de ganas, de vida... me saca de esos hoyos en los que todos alguna vez caemos..... Vivaldi me haces sentir fuerte con tu hermosa música!
