    New Challenge for you. Your work is awesome and this pouch is fantastic, but a bit small. My challenge is to come with a new design for men who get in-and-out of cars a lot. I would like to see a Pouch big enough for my iPhone 8 Plus, Sun Glasses, wallet, and car keys. More importantly the pouch should be able to quickly clip to my pants belt after getting out of the car and yanking it off before getting into car. Hopefully this new design will be just as easy as this video (one piece leather cut that does all).

  • @catsmeow5566

    Very nice! I bought this pattern in a 3-pack with 2 other pouches. Would it be difficult to modify this to have the stitching at the back instead of the front? I want the stitches hidden. I'm guessing I could move the side wings to the part that folds over to form the front and move the holes accordingly. I can probably print it out (once I get a printer working again), cut the paper and splice the pattern together. I also want the top flap to cover the sides a bit more, but not sure how to accomplish that. There was another pattern included in the 3 pack that had the bottom sides sealed up better and the top flap covering more, but it looked more complicated to sew.
    I'll have to find some masking tape like that. The kind I got was not transparent enough.

    • @DieselpunkRo

      you could try it, its a small project, you won't waste a lot of leather if you dont like the result

      @@DieselpunkRo Thanks. I will probably need to use some cheap scraps or something other than leather just to practice lining stuff up since leather is not easy to get in my area. Most of the craft stores in my area shut down and it takes forever to get stuff when I order over the internet.

    Hi Tony, I purchased the template yesterday and going to make one tomorrow. I have one point of confusion. In the instructions the required tools include, An old CD clear case or some scrap acrylic glass.
    I'm just wondering what the is used for.
    I enjoyed the video and the fact that the design means a guy no to leather craft can make something useful, while he is still building his skills; makes my new hobby a bit more fun.

    Why does your punching tools have a wooden block on the top, where you're hitting them?

    • @omgleatherworks3253
      @omgleatherworks3253 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The block gives the striking surface more area so it's easier to hit. Also using a metal hammer to strike a metal tool will cause the tool to mushroom over and possibly crack, split, shatter, or just be generally damaged. The wooden block would minimize the damage rate.

    • @HouseJakey
      @HouseJakey 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thx.
      PS: How's the wooden block attached?

    • @omgleatherworks3253
      @omgleatherworks3253 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not really sure in niteKore's situation but I would think it's just a hole slightly smaller that the tool and then forced through. I don't think any adhesive is involved. If I was doing it, I might countersink the hole a bit so the tool head sits below the wood a little and then fill the void with epoxy.

    • @HouseJakey
      @HouseJakey 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or drill in a punch(if the handle is not hardened, which usually isn't) and cut a thread, put on a block and screw together with countersunk screw, which is hidden into a wooden block.

    • @DieselpunkRo
      @DieselpunkRo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      that is mostly for preventing the puncher to roll off the table. ALso protects my fingers if i miss the punch with the hammer. And it is rubber, not wood
