I love how you present the tutorial with no assumption that people know what you’re talking about already you assume complete beginner skill level and explain everything so clearly. Excellent video!
Seriously, you keep killing it. Not only do you have great patterns, but you're teaching, and keep putting more stuff out. Not to mention your free patterns are actually free. I'm very impressed with you.
I can’t imagine getting my patterns from anywhere else. I look at the first bag that I made and I cringe. I was so proud of it. There’s no comparison to the items I make now and the thing that’s made the difference is the stitching. It’s much better now. Even for someone with visual difficulties like I have, Tony’s patterns are a delight to work with.
Hello, Mr. Tony, You're a great teacher and you make it quite evident that you have at least one child because of your approach of this tutorial the way you did. You're great!!!!
Amazing, isn't it, what some people can actively decide to dislike? I only found Tony's channel a couple of days ago, but I've already recognized that he's one of the best teachers, hands down, I've ever run across in a long life. He could teach teachers how to be teachers.
Tony, you not only create the most wonderful builds, you share your techniques with your "clients". We cannot thank you enough for your cleaver ingenuity and caring personality. Thank you so very much!!!!!
Tony... one thing you forgot. If your edges are not straight, your stitch line wont be straight. So its important to make sure to cut evenly for straight edges. Another set of helpful tools, if people don't have the ones you mentioned, are a corked back metal ruler and scratch awl. This can help align the stitching line. 😉👍
You are Amazing! Best videos, clear speech that can be understood by native speakers of other languages. The best description of all the details of the process, even the smallest ones, which others are usually skipped and then you think - why, why it doesn't work ??
thanks, at 10:50 in your video where you showed how the mistake of changing the order of passing the thread through the hole really shows how important proper sewing is.
I finally have managed to punch the holes and cut the pieces, Next is to put it all together, Will posts on your FB page. Q: like your vice, what weight and brand. Need to get me one. Love your work. My Flar cap and pork pie hat are after my first little bag. Thanks Tony
So many teachers instruct their students and the teacher does not care if you learned anything. Tony is extremely rare as a teacher he wants every student to be successful because it is a reflection on his teaching. Tony would be successful teaching anything because he is genuine. Great video.
Beautiful pouch and giving away for free again your kind generosity and every bit of work that I learned from you will remain forever in my heart. I dip my head to you sir.
Thank you for this tutorial. I have watched others but they make them much more complicated than they need to be. I am almost done with this bag, just waiting on the hardware. Thank you, it's not perfect yet but my stitching is much much better.
Thank you Tony for being a very instructor. I had no skills in leather craft before I started watching your videos. You have been a big inspirational to my life. You have help me add another skill under my belt that I can use to help the creativity of my family. Once again Tony, thank you.
You're awesome Tony! Ever since I started working with your patterns my skills have increased dramatically! From sewing to being able to layout my own patterns. You're skills and instruction are phenomenal. Thank you sir for inspiring me to delve even deeper into a craft I love.
Thank you! Your advice is very helpful for a beginner, who unfortunately has not been consistent on the pulling thread one side up/down. I will keep trying because I am enjoying this hobby.
Ohhh I think I am in love… you are absolutely the best🙏😍 I am all brand new at this, haven’t done my first bag yet… in a few days this will be my first🤩🙈
Thanks for this very informative stitching video! I especially enjoyed the close-up video in 'real time' when you started stitching. Also, summarizing all the important elements of stitching required for an attractive stitch-line before you started was helpful in knowing what to watch for. Thanks for the cute little pouch pattern too!
Hey Tony! Love your work man, one of your pouches (with little bottles) is what got me into leather working couple of years back. Could you make a video on how you are selecting leather type/thickness for a project? What different types and sizes are best for, what is the most universal size and what to look for when ordering leather. Thanks and keep up the great work!
I've wanted to do Leather craft for quite a while and your videos have BEYOND inspired me to do so! I'm starting to save up so that I can get leather and tools. Can't wait to start! :)
I want to thank you I have subscribed and I enjoy watching and learning some new thing with you. You are the best I have seen anywhere and I have looked a lot of places. My Uncle taught me as a child so long ago and you are very much like him in the aspects of what you do and how you teach!
Another delightful video "How Too". I have no problems stitching nor leather craft itself. But I do enjoy your style and as always a good watch. Love to point newbies to your channel. Nicely done. Thank You.
Since I started following along with your patterns and taping the pattern down with this masking tape I discovered that the tape not only holds the pattern firm to the leather but I found my holes were more consistent as opposed to transferring the pattern with an awl through the transparent paper because the masking tape helps keep the leather from stretching which happens often with veg tan leather. Now with other patterns, I put masking tape on the back ..and the ikea candle wax was a game changer!!! I love love love that tip!
I just want to know who chooses your music? I love listening to it as I watch you work. I'm about to start this project and work on my past mistakes. Thank you for the pattern. I have to buy something next time because of the inspiration you have given to me. You do beautiful work.
Thank you Tony, my biggest fault is to rush the hole punching so mistakes ocur with it there, I am slowly learning to overcome some of my faults. Thanks for the pattern.
Thank you Tony for this video. I’m new to leather work and found I enjoy it so much more than other mediums. Your instructions are great! Looking forward to more and giving some support. Appreciate the free pattern!
Thank you vary much for the free pattern. I will let you know that my lazer has no problem with your patterns. I've cut a few this one will be my next experiment. I find it less stressful the cut with the laser. Thank you again friends and family have enjoyed gift of your patterns/ projects.
Love listening to you and watching your tutorial. Unfortunately I only have a 10 inch tablet and I don't have a printer. Never mind it is still good watching you, you are one of the best. Mike UK
Tony, you are a Leather God. I always click the link and send your team some green for the free patterns because that seems only fair - I am learning so much.
You are the BEST teacher! I find your explanations very clear and the patterns easy to match up. Thanks for taking the time to help us and I learn new things every video! XOXO
Thank you Tony ! Be safe and take of that red eye. You know what they say “ it’s all fun and games until someone looses an eye “ . Much respect and appreciation from a big fan in Toronto,Canada
Old LEATHER SMITH here, excellent job Tony, if I was just starting out it would really help me, I have gotten lazy in my old age, I mostly use the backward stitch, 1 needle and ALL THE STITCHES R LOCKED IN just as the saddle stitch U use, don't get me wrong I use the saddle stitch and about 12 others but I prefer the BACKWARD STITCH, GOD'S BLESSINGS BROTHER ✝️⚾🙃
Going to try this using chisel prongs and hand stitching, should be OK, since ill be using 6mm or 3mm spacing and tiger thread. Probability add some shoulder straps and have my daughter or wife use it. If i have to make more, no problema, printing out the templates using 11x8.5 avery labels, sticking them on poster board, and bingo, instant templates. Maybe and idea for some people..good luck
Your tutorials are brilliant along with the free pattern. I must say your stitching pony rely looks fantastic and so easy to work with. Please keep up the Great work.
I did this and holy shit. Came out amazing. Decided to make a little more viking styling and added some stamps and design. Next is your viking helmet. 😊😇
Hey Tony, love your work. Tried the ball cap and bird mask. I've made several hats, anyway I found out on my hat journey that if you make the top gusset 2 mm wider on both sides it rounds out the top more, making the top more attractive. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Tony! Just purchased the 8 panel hat pattern! This pattern for the pouch might have Harley Davidson motorcycle applications yet. I’ll let you know. Thanks again mate!
I appreciate the time you take to show and teach new leather makers on stitching and explaining everything to make it easier for us. How do you design your patterns?
Sir I love your work I wanted to say thanks for sharing your knowledge this perfect stich video really helped me the part where you went back and unstiched tread from not doing the same way every time made much noticeable difference For the tools stuff you show i think it would be great to know about your stiching holder I'm wheelchair bound so the stich pony's are harder for me so i would like to know about yours
Great thank you. I’ll do this pouch for my son. It’s months he asked me for one like that, but I couldn’t find the time to make the pattern. Thank you for avoiding me to think about the pattern🤗 and thank you for your generosity🙏🏽
HEEEEYYY! I never saw a video of your leather "stitching pony" vise, that's a quick cool way to hold leather together. Can you talk more about that in your next Q&A?
Thanks so much for the pattern I will be trying it. What I would like to see is how you made your needle cushion. I have seen it in several of your videos and think it is very neat. I would appreciate a video of you making one. Thanks again.
Craftsmanship of the masters. When I put on ma leather I made, and rock to sum Metallica, Delta Parole, Foo Fighters or the Smashing Pumpkins I feel like I can do anything in the whole wide world.
every time i am making his stuff i listen to Brothers of Metal and Unleash the Archers, the gf thinks i am silly but now i can say i am not the only one rocking out to metal while leather crafting!!!!
Hey Tony! You should make some more watch straps. Some nice bund styles or why not every style and size. Emphasizing on size , since everyone is built differently. Cheers
top notch as always, could i ask if you would look into doing a tutorial on how to make a shoulder strap from smaller pieces of leather? i have some smaller patterns where my leather just isn't long enough to make a strap long enough to make a shoulder strap. and without just sewing a bunch of strips together and it looking terrible, is there any technique that could make a nice strap from several smaller pieces say around 300mm long?
Tony, love your work. Thanks for passing on your expertise. I have a question for you: Q: What do you do to finish off your products e.g. feeding the leather polishing out creases and defects?
I like your stitching horse that you use in your demos. Can you show how to make one in one of your demos? Looks better in use than what is sold here in the States. Thanks.
I always see warnings about things you can *only do* if you're using veg-tan, but no TH-camrs ever seem to say anything about chrome-tan. That's pretty much all I have access to right now, is there a good way to shape chrome-tan leather for bag gussets and such? That's my next project, but the leather I have is shockingly rigid, so I haven't been game to mess around with it too much.
I do the same water technique Tony does with VegTan and it works well, mind, not perfect but it’s doable ! Never a problem with re-tan ( I.E. Latigo) either, actually works great with Latigo, just watch for color transfer when wet!
For those of you who try to print it and pages 2 and 3 get cut off here is a solution I have found along with other people. Instead of using standard A4 paper use "legal" size paper.. it is the same width but longer and will resolve your problem most likely. Still do as he says and use actual size and tell the printer you are using A4.. just load the Legal sized paper instead.
The fact you give free patterns and teach some things for leathercraft makes you one of the best.
I like his "There are many Tutorials out there but you are watching mine"...
I love how you present the tutorial with no assumption that people know what you’re talking about already you assume complete beginner skill level and explain everything so clearly. Excellent video!

Free pattern and amazing Tutorial and someone DISLIKES IT?!
Tony, YOU MADE IT! HAHAHA
Haters gonna hate. I, on the other hand, downloaded the plan and am working on it right now! Thank you!

Thanks! I made it today. I added a couple of D-loops on the side so it can be used as a cross body strap pouch as well. Great pattern.
You are an ohnest mentor and teacher, stay blessed and love you
You give me memories of my Italian grandmother being stubborn and it's awesome.
Have not tried to make it yet but Diesel, seriously you are the master and make it look doable.
Until seeing this I was so confused on the stitching process. Thank You!!!

Beautiful pouch and giving away for free again your kind generosity and every bit of work that I learned from you will remain forever in my heart. I dip my head to you sir.
I like your sense of humor I get it and thank you for the freebie.
I love how you made the rivet process look so easy. I hate rivets, they love to move on me at the worst time. Love your videos!!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have watched others but they make them much more complicated than they need to be. I am almost done with this bag, just waiting on the hardware. Thank you, it's not perfect yet but my stitching is much much better.

Would be great if these questions were answered.

Great job, cool pouch and another solid tip from a world class leather worker.
Thank you very much for the pattern Sir. All a pleasure. Good luck with your channel and thank you for your lesson. Greetings a lot
I've bought several patterns and they have been a true joy to work with, with a perfect result every time! Thank you so very much for this bonus!!
Thank you, you are a great encourager for beginners

Hola Sr. Tony. Gracias por compartir en forma gratuita este genial proyecto. Dios lo bendiga y lo acompañe.
Das ist ein schönes Stück, ideal für Anfänger geeignet. Mein erstes Werk. Garantiert nicht das Letzte.
It is such a beautiful design
