    Awesome parts.There are many choices now for this. Im excited to get to work on my 64. Ive owned my C10 since 1989 and the future looks great for our trucks. Great Video.

    Replaced my cross member about a month ago. Wish I had seen this, I like the quality and three piece design. I used the one piece CCP for a 4” static drop because that’s what I’m going with. Two things, that reinforcement strip on the bottom of the frame has a purpose to strengthen the frame where the cross member mounts and from what I can tell, this design would allow you to leave the outer two rivets and the plate attached. I too replaced my rusted trailing arms. I went with stock replacements from Dynacorn. After reading about how trailing arm suspensions work and how GM designed the two piece I beam arms for maximum flex side to side I decided to stay with the stock design. Probably over thinking it but what I read convinced me that increased side to side rigidity in the trailing arms isn’t desirable. Love the videos!

    I had already bought a trailing arm x member to replace my stock one because my driveshaft is super close to the top. I hadn’t seen this one. Just ordered it and will sell the other one. Love that you build the first gen C10s as they seem not to get the love like the 67-72s

    Just discovered your channel and love the builds. I'm curious though if this crossmember could be adapted to other year trucks. I imagine as long as the frame rails are similar width, it should be simple enough with maybe some new frame brackets.

    Huge fan of your builds. Was thinking of copying your set up for my 63. My only worry is in the strength of the bolt in step notch and the giant 4 inch blocks. I plan on driving my truck quite often and I’m worried the blocks and notch won’t hold up.

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bolt in notch is a great design and works well. I’ve never worried about longevity of it same goes with the four inch blocks. You’re welding then into the trailing arms do they aren’t going anywhere as long as you have tightened the the ubolts correctly.
      If you’re worries about the bolt in notch then just use the Velaworks weld in notch. That’s my next video I’ll post before thanksgiving.

    Do you still recommend the rust reformer and truck bed coating? I’m about to do my whole frame after I clean it up a bit. I saw in one of your newer videos you used the sweet patina product. I like the idea of the rattle cans but not opposed to brushing if you recommend the sweet patina more. Thank you.

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still like the rust reformer and truck bed coating. The sweet patina stuff was awesome too but I do enjoy spraying it. Which sweet patina does have a spray now. It just matters if you want it shiny or matte.

      @@SIMPLE.C10 man I really appreciate what you do and also answering questions. You’re 100% the reason I’m not scared to tackle my 72 stepside with my daughter. One more question on the rust reformer, the label says to let it dry for 24 hours before applying a top coat. Do you wait the full 24 hours before applying the bed liner?

    Great content and very helpful. I'm working on a 66 at the moment. I'm using Tinwork's trailering arms. I assume it's necessary to cut the Velaworks blocks down? Thank you!!!

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. If you don’t cut them down you will run into scrub issues where the ubolts will drag the ground if you had a flat.

    The holes in the rear of the crossmember were the trailing arms go are those holes to give clearance in case you lower the rear with lowered springs or bags?

    I find it absolutely ridiculous when you did your Safety speech.....lol
    Are you talking to a 5th grader shop class ? I didn't think so.
    You do some really nice work, just saying most couscous people are Safety oriented, you should be more Safety conscious when using spray paint , try using a paint mask next time ..... while we're on the Safety topic. 🏁
