As great as this game is, it's a shame to learn how much stuff was cut in the US version over the Japan version, aka Assault Suits Valken. We are talking... - Character pictures are missing within the missions. - Almost all radio conversations during game play have been removed. - One person and his suicide has been removed entirely from the game. - A secret radio transmission at the end of the game is missing Not much is known from why the changes but if you still haven't played this. Play the game with the 'Assault Suits Valken translation patch', restoring everything removed/censored in the US version + now in English.
There's a secret weapon in this game which you can unlock as follow: - just speed run the first mission, WITHOUT shooting any of the enemies, until you get to the boss - when you reach the 1st mission's boss, DO NOT shoot the turrets, SHOOT ONLY THE MAIN BODY. - starting with mission 2, you get the napalm weapon. - finish the 2nd mission without dying Congratulations, you now have the completely upgraded napalm weapon for the rest of the game and can keep it, even if you lose a life. The napalm weapon is, as mentioned, fully upgraded and one shots every enemy. It's so OP, it kills most bosses with 3-4 well placed shots. But beware, it has 2 drawbacks: - if you fire it constantly, it needs to cool down and recharge. Unlike the laser beam weapon, who recharges super fast, the napalm weapon can can take up to 10 seconds for this cool down, so you need to eventually swap to another weapon, until it recharges. - it fires not straight like the other weapons but similar to a mortar/ grenade launcher, in an arc. If you want to hit enemies that are more far away, you need to adjust it's trajectory. P.S. Pro tip: learn to USE YOUR SHIELD.

I remember this game; it is one of those fun rentals with nice gameplay that I thought was rather neat.
Yeah true, but there was just something holding it back.

Ah yes, the watered down version of Assault Suits Valken.
Also, Metal Warriors was also a sequel to this game. It had multiple games in Japan of this series.
It is to Cynernator/Assults what Snake's revenge is to Metal Gear 1; doesn't stop it from being a fine game
Metal Warriors its from Lucas arts, are universes differents, the true sequel is Assault valkien suits 2 to ps1 action strategy game
I remembered this one.
Long live the Apple ][e (1978), 8-bit, 16-bit and 24-bit era.
24 bit? There was no 24 bit console do you mean 32 bit?

This remeber me the Gundam series...Cool to play it!
NCS developed most of their titles for the PC Engine.
Nice Mecha.
There supposed to be rats from Stocktales at 5:08
I had both the north American version and Japanese version. There was cut story content and ending were different from each other.
Clone Metal Wariors.
Assault suit series is more old than metal Warriors, First game is target earth/Assault suit leynos to sega genesis

Why it's look like front mission gun hazard?

Hey
日本でいう重装機兵ヴァルケンですね。
So much exposition
Beautiful game. And yeah, the excessive dialog is what kills me on some of these. I wish more Japanese titles had a non-verbose option.
