Since I very recently bought myself a personal dry erase board with markers, I decided to watch this and THANKS for the cleaning tips for my erase board! I just LOVE using it! I hope that all business and learning institutions are replacing those old dusty chalk boards with dry erase boards! THANKS again for your cleaning tips for my dry erase board!
I've been searching this topic on and off for several months now and this is the ONLY source of information that makes me think "wow, that answered my questions AND MORE".
Super cool trick. My white board that’s having strains went away with alcohol spray and the microfibre cloth. It’s quite easy. Thanks for the good video.
Thank you so much. I have the cheap melamine whiteboard and I was sure I was going to have to replace it because I couldn’t get the marker off. I tried the alcohol and it was amazing perfectly clean board now!
Traditional Windex will scratch and remove the coating on most plastics. Make sure you read the label before applying it or you may end up throwing away your freshly cleaned whiteboard.
yeah dont use windex. Use water and then if something is giving you hella fukkin shtt, then use store-bought whiteboard cleaner. And dust often when not using it.
Thank you so much! I’m a middle school student and I use a whiteboard to write answers on. I left marker on it and it’s been bugging me so much, this helped get it off thanks again.
I had written on my dry erase board in 2019 and never erased it! I used the vinegar and water solution with a mircofiber cloth and a LOT of elbow grease t all came off after a lot of scrubbing. thanks!
Only one method has worked for me: use a new whiteboard marker, any colour, and use it to scrub into the letters on the whiteboard. It will dissolve very old markings. Use a microfibre cloth to wipe off the inks. Then, finish with a Mr Clean white cleaning pad.
So every school I go to use just regular white board eraser duster. We have rugs in class for cleaning days (similar to what the Japanese do). I would randomly wipe the board at the end of the day with damp rugs and it looks so much cleaner. I wish there is water or cleanser dispenser . I've even quickly wet the duster and wipe and hide the fact I've dampen the duster because teacher might scold me
Windex worked the best to remove, plus writing again on the board did not create any issue - with other cleaners it could get greasy that you can’t write on it.
When my whiteboard calendar shipped, it was packed with packing tape and some of the tape was stuck to the surface in a few spots along the edge of the whiteboard. It came with zero maintenance instructions. I'm wondering what I can use that is non-abrasive, yet will clean the tape off the surface without damaging the surface. I'm thinking about maybe using Awesome Orange, but I'm afraid that will damage the surface. I might try it in one spot to see what happens. Goo Gone sees awfully strong for cleaning off tape.
Awesome Orange didn't work, but didn't harm the surface either. I ended up using the oldest cleaning tool known to man to slowly scratch the tape off the surface, followed by wiping with microfibre. Surface is tape-free now.
FUN FACT: HEET in the red bottle is 99% IPA*, & it's cheap! It's available at every auto parts store, convenience store, & Walmart I've ever been in. (HEET is gas line antifreeze, so may be more difficult to find in the South.) *Isopropyl Alcohol
Ive got a melamine whiteboard.. my mum used to make jigsaws on it and complained that it was to shiny… so we decided to tape pieces of paper on it, i actually live using my whiteboard now and have just decided to stick it on the wall.. giving it a deep clean and trying to take the tape of before we put it up tho! Have you got any tips because i absolutely cannot get this tape off
Acetone will strip away the surface of your whiteboard. I would stay away from using strong cleaners and abrasive materials on your whiteboard's surface. -TK
Toothpaste is an abrasive cleaner, especially if it is a whitening toothpaste. While this can clean your whiteboard, it can also strip the surface. - TK
Ummm, if you are saying not to use abrasive cleaners, then why is the "Magic Eraser" - a mildly abrasive cleaning sponge - a part of your cleaning recommendation? Yeah, no, that's a bad idea. It will rub off the dry erase surface eventually. Stick with the chemical solutions or use elbow grease.
Hahahahaha I’m sorry but it’s funny how concerned/upset she is in the intro about people “causing permanent damage to their white boards”... I can just picture her at the bar on Saturday night talking wayyy too much about white boards🤣 Also what accent is that??? Just curious.. is that Canadian? Listen to her say magnets: “Maeyyynits” 4:53 Anyways joking aside thanks for the informative lesson on whiteboard maintenance

The glass cleaner + Micro fiber cloth option worked for me right away. It was a good option for quick wipe clean.
Hand sanitizer worked great! I had been struggling with soap, alcohol and glass cleaner, but sanitizer made short work of the cleanup.
Thanks this saved me timeee
Same!
Outstanding!! I was having issues with my whiteboard until I watched this video. This solved my every query related to whiteboards. Thankyou.

I can't understand..

Yes it has to be ammonia free
You should also NOT use an magic eraser. They are super abrasive on a micro level. Kinda like an aggresive polish.
😮 thx

So I want to keep info on my whiteboard for awhile maybe a month than clean it. Is this going to be a problem?

I just at bought a white board at wallmart and it’s so hard to clean the white board. What type of white board should I buy?
One more tip to clean the whiteboard as new :: you can use WET WIPES ALSO
yeah but like markes that u van rease
The Magic sponge ruined the surface of my board.
Same but mine has 2 sides which is good
so mineral oil is not good for coating or cleaning whiteboard?

I watched this video too late. I cleaned my wb with acetone and now the marks stains are hard to remove. I need to use acetone again.
In my school they had a shoe polishing brush

I used glass cleaning spray
I pour some sanitiser and remove it instantly as it evaporates
So good way
Great video although I think that magic eraser might be a bit abrasive
Aren’t magic erasures abrasive?
Is acetone ok ? or it is too strong?
Acetone will strip away the surface of your whiteboard. I would stay away from using strong cleaners and abrasive materials on your whiteboard's surface. -TK
@@btodtv thanks.
I have tried those all tips it ia not working
No not vinegar.
I am using wd 40 is it okay?
So nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for watching! -TK
I tried the vinegar and water and dish soap and water and neither of them worked for me...
Hey it works more with tooth paste
Toothpaste is an abrasive cleaner, especially if it is a whitening toothpaste. While this can clean your whiteboard, it can also strip the surface. - TK
i used toothpaste to get all the first dirt off then in future i will clean it using the better steps.
Why would I want to use a proper cleaning solution if it can cause permanent damage to the whiteboard's surface?
I am from India and .I want you ask a question
@tropicalcoder lmao
my boy got roasted
I use plastic sheets rather than boards by sticking the plastic sheets to a wall with tape.
Just use cloth washing shop/surfexel and use it with a clean cloth board will clean never you think...
Perfect!
But it is not became a stain when you clean 🧽 it ?!! It’s my opinion
How to clean dry erasers?
magic eraser is really fine sandpaper. Never use Magic Eraser on whiteboard. This video gave some really bad advice in my opinion.
Hahahahaha I’m sorry but it’s funny how concerned/upset she is in the intro about people “causing permanent damage to their white boards”... I can just picture her at the bar on Saturday night talking wayyy too much about white boards🤣

I feel attacked 🤣 also, I'm from Wisconsin. -TK
