Reaper user, I am 100% attacked on this 😂😂
😁
Reaper here also, but alongside multiple mpcs (old and new models) hiphop beats, and prism converters + nice analog. Entirely different to the assumptions so I don't feel attacked, I feel overlooked 😂
Just to let everyone know -- I use Reaper 😆😆 not a Metalhead
Reaper is also the nerdy game audio DAW 😆
@@odhinnswrath Guys we need a reaper emotional support group now 🤣
As a Nuendo Cubase user for 22 years, this is completely ACCURATE!! 😆😆
Yup ! Me too. Thats me. Nailed
We probably started at the same time and I agree 💯 percent. This is accurate af
yeah 100% - and here is me with Nuendo too 😁😁 Hey, let's unite guys!!!🤣. But now, to be serious, I've tried almost all the daws, I have no problem to switch to another one (really, I am pretty flexible), but cubase/nuendo? - Truly an unbeatable stuff!! Btw. I even prefer my Nuendo13 over my Wavelab for mastering ;)
I’ve been using Steinberg Cubase user for literally 32 years from when it started out as a midi sequencing application on Apple Plus in 1992 or 1993. I forget.
✋🤣
And I think it’s the best DAW out there. And yes, I have spent a lot of time on “Pro” Tools too. Cubase still wins hands down. I produce and mix in Nashville. So I’ve heard and seen it all over the years.
1000% 😂😂😂
Studio one was spot on 😂
I second that! Lol
I third that 😂 🤯 🎯
4th that!!
Bruh good!😂
And we continue 😂
As a Reason user, I can confirm that we do enjoy being underestimated in the audio community.
Also, Reason users NEVER completely abandon it either. If we switch DAWs, we carry all of our existing devices over for continued use via Reason Rack Plugin and get the best of both worlds. 👍🏾
Reason?! =reasonable!
Studio One user. Can confirm everything you said about us.
Yep
Facts 😂😂😂😂
I'm a Studio One user, and I don't feel attacked by this video. I feel understood. 🤣

Mixcraft since 2008 - underrated as hell
Absolutely. I’ve used it since Mixcraft 4, about the same timeframe. I’ve tried others but had trouble learning and spent so much time with little result. Mixcraft is more intuitive to me.
I love Mixcraft Pro 10.5. It get's straight to point and it's packed with all you need. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to make great music on it.
I'm glad to see someone mention Mixcraft! Started with MC7 and 10.5 is absolutely Awesome!

I'm a Pro Tools & Cubase guy. I wonder how Dave will describe that one. 😁

LOL, Me Too, I started with Cubase and then spent years with Magix. I then spent a short time with Sonar until I discovered Studio One. Studio One is great because it's so easy to get into, which allows you to focus on your music and not on trying to figure out how to use your DAW.

Been with Reason since 1.0. Pretty much spot on, bro. Its so deep, I've lost YEARS just playing the sounds and effects. And when they added VST : pure madness!
Team Reaper here
Yup!
Reaper is the Best 👌🏾
Lol 😂😂😂😂 when you wake up buy studio one bro I used reason but FL is good aswel
Reaper is great. Been using it for years. Honestly logic does take the cake, but reaper is the best I've ever used on a PC platform.
Studio One because it seemed like the easiest DAW to learn back in 2010 with the drag and drop feature. One of the best DAWS if not the best all round for production, mixing and it comes with mastering suite built in.
You're totally wrong. It is absolutely not one of the best DAWs
S1 is hands-down the very best DAW that has ever been released to the general public!
And I say that as a complete beginner with zero experience in any other DAW 😂
Reaper users are the vegans of music production.
I was thinking more in the line of Linux Arch users going: "By the way, I use Arch". Replace Arch with Reaper - which I also use among other DAWs;)

Reaper users like the freedom of customizing their DAW the way they want it to look and function.
Studio One is second to Reaper in the level of customization.
Unlike other DAWs, Reaper is stable asf using less system resources while Protools users crash more than old ladies in scooters at supermarkets.
Reaper is for the user who has graduated from using the other DAWs and, sick of their issues. Reaper is the angel of death of all DAWs.
(If you know, you know. If you don't, you'll catch on in 2044 when the Terminators have it linked to Skynet).
Cubase is really the best one out there though. It's the DaVinci Resolve of the DAW space, has all the functionality to be the industry standard, minus the monthly subscription fees.
Big no. Editing capabilities and speed are far superior in PT and if you add Soundflow which comes with PT it's not even funny

And then there are LUNA users! We swear we'll get the features we need eventually but we get by because it just sounds so good.
🗑️
The summing sounds great and the workflow for tape and API consoles is awesome. The DAW itself doesn't have 'a sound' as far as I know
AKAI MPC 2 for writing music (absolutly not only for beatmaking), LUNA for mixing and mastering, Korg Gadget for backing tracks/midi control of hardware. My three holy cows.
And then there are we Luna users who can't even get it to load on our machines because it's in beta.
Not sure we'll get "the features" but I do like LUNA and have been using it since '20. Still have a Pro Tools subscription because just in case. Thinking about trying Reaper.
As a Cubase user, how they looked Pro Tools user most likely had 100% accurate 😂. I learned recording with Nuendo 3 I believe and switch to Cubase 4 and 5. After that I jump into Pro Tools 9, 10, and 12. And back to Cubase 10 - 13 now. Actually you’re the one that made me back to Steinberg from Pro Tools David. Because your video about Nuendo 10 if you remember 😂
Long-time Cubase user. How did you know I play piano? Well-done sir, well-played.😄😄😄
You nailed it on Reaper users. Because everything we say about it is true.
Cakewalk Sonar Platinum and Cakewalk from Bandlab user since 1997. It was at one point the best DAW for windows. New version of Sonar moved from Bitmap graphics to Vector graphics, but it feels like a huge step backwards in looks and functionality. Plan to keep using Bandlab version in the meantime and pray that they fix the user interface on Sonar and I have Reaper too. Only because most of my friends use it.
Started with Cakewalk when it was midi sequencing only in 1987. It was definitely the best product on MS-DOS and then Windows. I sure couldn't afford a Mac back then. Cakewalk became an actual DAW in the mid 90's handling digital audio before anybody else on a commercial platform. It certainly pre-dated Protools. When Protools came out it did not have MIDI and it took them a long while to recitfy that, but all the professionals gravitated to it (it was cross-platform and the pros were all on Apple). Anyway, I had the same experience as descibed in the video when people crowed about new features in Protools that Cakewalk had had for years. Unfortunately, Cakewalk was mismanaged first by Roland and then finally killed off (temporarily) by Gibson. I switched to Reaper (although I'm not a metal head 😀). When Cakewalk came back with Bandlab, I used the opportunity to convert my old Cakewalk/Sonar projects to Reaper and haven't looked back,
A couple years ago I was on the hunt for a new daw and tried cakewalk/ bandlab. Everything was good until I opened an automation lane and it was so corrupted it wouldnt function. I used Sonar back in its hayday, and it was just as good as cubase and nuendo.
With corporate overlords taking over and owner, founder and developer Greg Hendershott gone after 2012, the writing was on the wall. Greg did an outstanding job at Cakewalk. I think he actually answered the phone a few times when I called in for technical help in the very early days.
I still use Sonar Platinum. The new Sonar Cakewalk Next UI looks so unpleasant like a homogenous mess. The clear separation between the menus in Sonar Platinum was superior. They have not improved upon the ProChannel or plugins and features, and I bet they have not addressed the stability issues.
Harrison Mixbus users "great they forgot about us again"
I hear good things about Harrison Mixbus. They say it is like using an oldschool mixing board and sounds great.
I used to use Reason, you are 100% correct.
I use FL studio because I started using it since I was 16, now im 38 and I record bands with it. mix and master with it, love the workflow. I used Logic pro and protools in the past, always came back to FL studio because I love the way it works..

Was looking for this comment. Been using Cakewalk for decades now lol.
@@AH20XX Cakewalk by Bandlab user here. Is Sonar really that much better?
Cakewalk user here. I dabble with all instruments but don't really know how to "play" any of them. When inspired I jump in and make a song, record lyrics, then spend the next 4 weeks tweaking eq and compression. Because let's face it, I don't really know how to mix and master either. Noone will be hearing the tracks... but its okay because I love the process.
When people see my guitar and keyboard and ask to hear a song. I switch from ASIO to WSI shared and play it over my crap computer monitor speakers, so really all that eq and comp didn't matter anyway.
But again thats okay because I enjoyed making it 😂😅
The summary was simply fantastic! I felt like a kid again. I've been working with audio software for 30 years and have even worked at an audio software company, and the way you formulated, compiled, described, and characterized everything was like it came straight from the depths of my heart.

Modular synth guys: "You are using a DAW?"
A few weeks ago i finished helping one of these guys make certain diy DI/preamp, it was left unfinished like those 100 songs waiting for unexpected breakthrough. The most notable problems were lack of understanding gain staging, dreaming about x or y preamp solving the problem of recording with 27eur dynamic, very cheap Chinese condenser and ribbon mics, troubles understanding basic interfacing, interactions between gear, etc. If they asked me to do the same thing one more time, i would suggest getting very good at working with converter preamps, playing well, maybe buy one hardware compressor, only then move on to higher end gear.
Where are the Audacity people !!! ??? 😂😂😂😂 🎉 I'm a Logic guy and that was pretty much accurate hahahaha . The FL studio OMG ! 💀 🤣
Audacity users are home amateurs. They used Audition until Adobe switched over to the subscriber model. They aren't interested in learning anything. They just want to rip their vinyl and burn a CD-R. They love that Audacity is free.
I learned some about audioediting in Audacity far back in the days! 😊
Audacity is an audio editor. It can be used as a DAW, but it isn't. I've used it as one. I used to have a super noisy interface, and the background audio removal plug in really cleaned up everything into something at least usable. It's a great editor.
@@andrewbillington5422 An editor can be a work station. It's just that you're not multitracking. I do mastering, so I can use RX as my DAW. For more complicated things, I use either Reaper or my old copy of Audition's multitrack mode. As I said somewhere else, i'd use Luna, but it just won't load on my Windows 10 machine.
The only thing I use Audacity for is wave file editing, and that is only because Soundforge no longer exists. As a DAW, I use Modplug Rracker VST.
As a cubase user everything that you said about cubase users is pretty accurate

As an FL Studio user who produces Electronic and Pop, I get stereotyped for not knowing anything about mixing/mastering because most people who use FL are indeed just beat makers.
If you watch mixbustv then your definitely not the typical Fl user
This was awesome. S1 user, but well versed in Logic, ProTools, Ableton, Reason… and all of the pain and pleasure, which is why S1 is homebase. But the community is awesome too!
With regard to Ableton, you’re probably accurate with the majority of users, but there are some incredible customization opportunities that are hard-pressed to find in almost any other DAW.

Another Cubase/Nuendo guy here, yay!! 😂 and actually, that Pro Tools vs Nuendo one is so accurate 🤣
Reaper is the only one I've used, and it's the best one. The only thing it says about me is I'm happy with the product.
*edit:* Whoa, I'm definitely not a metalhead. My last song was in the style of classic rock, but I'm mostly a pop ballad person.
Everything is pop now.
If it's the only one you've used, then you can't say it's the best one.
If you say something is the best one, it means you've actively compared it against the alternatives in practice.
If you haven't compared it, then what you're really saying is "I don't know if it's the best one, but I'm happy with it."
As a REAPER user I fully agree with that statement 😅

Studio One Users: You hit the nail right on the head! Thank you.
I use Reaper for Hip-Hop, however, it got me into mixing metal.
Started in Performer in the early '90s, then moved to Cubase in the mid-late '90s, switched to Logic for two decades while dabbling in ProTools, Studio One and Reaper occasionally, and now firmly rooted in ProTools. Safe to say that this video speaks to those stages of my career very, VERY accurately.
Started studio one, never looked back.
Bro that Studio One is me! Super chill independent. Artist, writer, producer, mix master, working on being a skilled videographer. Started on FL and switched to Pro tools, ended up with S1 looking for a mix of the 2. Also use Mixcraft to make beats. Ready to start a vlog and podcast after i learn music video editing. Also definitely have to get recharged during a long session, usually food and smoke break.😂
Studio one User Here, your are a 100 percent accurate in my Case, Amazing video as always😅😅
As an FL Studio user since 2018, I don't use any melody loops or anything. I do use drum samples and stuff, but I now make my own Kick since my latest release. Mixing and Mastering is my number 1 priority! And if I had to describe my music (including EDM, Metal, Cinematic) in only one word, it would be "Strong"

yeah i mean .. Reason has evolved and with the VST inlcusion Reason users have been all over the place with every plugin possible .. and dont neccessarily dive into creating their own patches ..those days have gone for many i beleive ... but yeh its a great toy ...
I’m a big fan of Reason! With a lot of VSTs!
Thx for the Szahala lead👊🏿🖤🙏🏿🫡
Spot on. Especially Pro Tools and Reaper users. I can't watch a production video without someone in comments asking, "Have you tried Reaper?". To be fair, I use most of them for difrerent things.
Cubase is better than pro-tools at least for me if for no other reason than their customer servive. I stopped using all avid software when towards the end of grad school sibelius kept crashing and i "had to purchase an asc" in order to keep getting help. Cubase and dorico both have their bugs and crashes but ive never had to pay for customer support or wait on the phone all day for it either.
Also you left out Ardour, Bitwig, Sound Forge and Blockhead
There are so many different DAWs out there that unless this guy wants to make a very long video, it's best for him to focus on the top selling DAWs.
Gargeband mobile gang here
That was literally a perfect explanation
