    Allosaurus was a large bipedal predator. Its skull was large and equipped with dozens of sharp, serrated teeth. It averaged 9.5 metres (31 ft) in length, though fragmentary remains suggest it could have reached over 12 m (39 ft). Relative to the large and powerful hindlimbs, its three-fingered forelimbs were small, and the body was balanced by a long and heavily muscled tail. It is classified as an allosaurid, a type of carnosaurian theropod dinosaur. The genus has a complicated taxonomy, and includes an uncertain number of valid species, the best known of which is A. fragilis. The bulk of Allosaurus remains have come from North America's Morrison Formation, with material also known from Portugal and possibly Tanzania. It was known for over half of the 20th century as Antrodemus, but a study of the copious remains from the Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry brought the name "Allosaurus" back to prominence and established it as one of the best-known dinosaurs.
    Ceratosaurus was a carnivorous theropod dinosaur in the Late Jurassic period (Kimmeridgian to Tithonian). This genus was first described in 1884 by American paleontologist Othniel Charles Marsh based on a nearly complete skeleton discovered in Garden Park, Colorado, in rocks belonging to the Morrison Formation. The type species is Ceratosaurus nasicornis.

    Chad T-rex vs Virgin Giga

  • @SKMcorporation
    @SKMcorporation 6 ปีที่แล้ว +118

    Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex were both perfectly capable to kill each other. Size or power difference are not big enough to make clear winner. Winner is the one who is able to bite first on the opponents neck. T-rex would lock its jaws and start crushing, possibly break gigas neck bones or suffocate it by closing air flow. When giga bites, it would take single slice or saw the t-rexes neck and throat with its teeths, causing massive blood loss when arteries are cropped. Possible t-rexes neck muscles are cropped too, and it has no longer power to carry its head.

    • @skezeksskybreaker5425
      @skezeksskybreaker5425 6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      I mostly agree with you, but a slice on the T-Rex neck is not a Death sentence depending where it is if it gets to a vital artery then sure. A weaker bite force vs the T-Rexes super muscular neck would not always be a sure win.
      Giganotosaurus best strategy for a win is to use it's slight weight advantage and knock the T-Rex over.

    I can’t understand why everyone consider the Giganotosaurus as bigger than the Tyrannosaurus rex. The last discovery of Jack Horner was an enormous giant T-Rex skeleton of 14 m while the Giganotosaurus was 13,2

  • @Sylmarys24
    @Sylmarys24 6 ปีที่แล้ว +73

    Not enough is known about Giganotosaurus to make a fair comparison because much less skeletons have been discovered compared to around 50 skeletons for Tyrannosaurus so while Tyrannosaurus size estimates are not going to get any larger. Giganotosaurus is much more open to change based on its relative lack of study.

    • @ratsubhan4968
      @ratsubhan4968 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      From the evidence we possess so far, T. rex was slightly shorter in length than Giganotosaurus. The only two specimens we have are MUCPv-Ch1 (holotype) and MUCPv-95 (paratype). It's not really clear how much bigger that paratype specimen individual is, because there isn't perfect linear scaling between it and the holotype specimen (the isolated jaw is proportionately a bit deeper). Scott Hartman's "best fit" indicates an individual about 6.5% longer than the holotype individual. The holotype was 12.4 meters in length, so:
      - 6.5% = 0.065. 0.065 x 12.4 = 0.806.
      - 0.806 + 12.4 = 13.2(06) meters (length of the paratype).
      Even if you lower it to the average length, it results as 12.8(03) meters, still longer than T. rex.
      FMNH PR 2081 (Sue), the most complete and representative specimen of T. rex, had a length of around 12.3 meters.
      Skeletal drawing website by Scott Hartman, comparing the lengths of the two animals: www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/giant-theropods-north-vs-south772013
      Hope this helps.

    T-Rex had a big enough brain to plan out complex attacks before engaging prey, also its teeth were designed to bite through bones, as well as flesh.. Giganotosaurus had steak knives for teeth that would break on bone, and a relatively weak bite, and the lack of brain power meant it just just depended on its size and ferociousness, and could not execute complex behavior like planning... Giganotosaurus was like "HULK SMASH!!" while the T- Rex was Superman pausing to plan like "Hmm maybe if i try throwing hulk into interstellar space to get rid of him" lol

    Change your channel's name to "T Rex fanboyism" because the upcoming video is T Rex vs Godzilla. And here is your video:
    Godzilla is bigger, stronger, has arms bigger than T Rex's body, thick skin, massive claws, great swimmer, has atomic breath. But T Rex has 6 ton bite force, so T Rex wins 80% of the times.
    Next, T Rex vs mozasaur, Moza has huge head and is massively large. But T Rex has 6 tons bite force so T Rex wins 80% times.
    Whaaaaat? T Rex ate a nuclear warhead and it exploded??!! But I thought T Rex had 6 tons bite force??!!
    Next video, T Rex vs Meteor shower.
    Meteor shover caused Dinosaurs to go extinct. Destroyed large part of the planet, can end human race any time, but T Rex has 6 tons bite force so T Rex wins 80% times.
    T Rex vs Volcano.
    Volcano has hot lava, Volcano destroyed the dinosaurs, volcanos are unstoppable. But T Rex has 6 tons bite force so T Rex wins 80% times.
    And next is expectedly T Rex vs God and Devil both. God controls the universe and Devil is king of evil. But T Rex has 6 tons bite force so T Rex wins 80% of the times.

    Seriously, the t rex fanbase is really annoying, t rex vs spino, t rex win. T rex vs tarbo, t rex win. T rex vs Giga, t rex win, t rex vs carcharo, t rex win. The t rex would have a higher chance of losing to a lot of these dinosaurs. People often mistake that the triceratops often gets rekt by t rex. Why? Because everybody loves t rex, not because t rex would actually win.

    • @jpdelacroix76
      @jpdelacroix76 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      A t-rex is related to a tarbo, no a trex does not have a high chance of losing, and yes a t rex would actually win because if you were actually listening... bone crushing bite and very big size is not always = very strong (unless you're a sauropod). Stop playing your unrealistic games and watching your unrealistic movies and do some actual research. "oh look giga is big so he strong", "oh look carcharo is big so he is strong" pls. stop... also there has already been times when the rex was killed by a triceratops due to fatal wounds or miscalculations in the rex's part. Those people are just idiots dont't mind them.

    • @VIPERTRON
      @VIPERTRON 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I bet I know more about dinsoaurs than you. Tarbo had a bone crushing bite too, and T rex's bite only matters if it catches ona vulnerable spot, like the neck. The giga had much better teeth than t rex, because in a fight, the t rex would need to grab giga by the neck, or arm, to get a good bite, but the giga can pretty much bite the t rex anywhere, and its teeth were flat, deisgned like knives, which could tear out huge chunks of flesh. Size in this fight doesnt really matter, since they were almost the same size, but the giganotosaurus can tire down t rex much faster. Bleeding can cause dizziness, and eventually wear it out. and if the t rex had chunks of flesh missing, it would barely stand a chance. however, if the t rex got the giga in a neck hold, t rex would pretty much win. Gig did not have long enough arms to break free, and even if it did, its neck would be severely injured. Giga has a better chance, mainly because it can bite just about anywhere. But t rex needed to get in on a killing bite for it to work. Giga was an active hunter, and chased down its prey, while t rex was an ambush predator, that stalked its prey, than surprised it. T rex could not run very fast. Top speed was 12 mph. Even a human could outrun it. T rex also had a weaker body, due to the fact that it didnt need its body for hunting. All it used were its head and neck, so the reast of the body wasnt very important. Giga however hunted sauropods like argentinosaurus, which were much harder to kill than a mere Edmontosaurus. Giga had to chase them down, then single one out, then finally kill them. This is real hunting. The t rex woudnt need to know how to fight. It fought rarely, and it would rather sneak up on its prey than kill it head on. Giga has a higher chance of winning.

    • @VIPERTRON
      @VIPERTRON 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      And dont say that t rex had a bigger brain, and was smarter, because that is only a theory. Its brain capacity may have been big, but that does not mean that it was intelligent. Neanderthals had a bigger brain than sapiens sapiens, but that does not mean they were more intelligent. T rex's cerebrum may have been similar sized to other dinosaurs. And even if it was smarter, a little more intelligence than its opponent woudnt do much in a fight.

      VIPERTRON CHAOS there was this one fossil of a trex in a museum that had its tail bitten off, which would of lost alot of blood, but it survived, because the tail of the fossil was growing back, now that said it should of died due to blood loss, but theory is that the trex survived due to it having help with other rexs, now that said a rex can survive an encounter with a giga, now the rex would use its big head to ram its prey so it could knock them off balance and kill its prey. I also find it funny how you think trexs don't know how to fight.

    • @VIPERTRON
      @VIPERTRON 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ninjabird, ok LIZARDS can survive with their tail bitten off. T rex DID NOT know how to fight fairly. It surprised attack other dinosaurs. The tail isnt very important to its survival, it served a balence. If the t rex had chunks of flesh missing from its leg, or body, it would die. And are you suggesting t rex used its head as a battering ram? then you are stupid. T rexs head is made of BONE, not METAL. It would still hurt. And its neck couldnt withstand the pressure. If it hit its enemies with its head too hard, its neck would snap. Pachycephalosaurus had a 10 inch thick skull, but if it headbutted too hard, its neck would snap

    This is a 50/50.
    It depends on who gets the first bite. Giganotosaurus' teeth are really sharp so when it bites a prey, (or T.Rex in this case) it could cut/punch a hole in the wind pipe to actually suffocate the T.Rex, cut/punch a hole in the artery so there's not bloodflow coming to the brain, or kill T.Rex from blood loss in general. But dont think of it as a 1 sided fight. If T.Rex gets a hold of Giganotosaurus' neck, that's it, ga- game over for the Giga. The T.Rex is gonna crush the spine of the Giga.
    So my opinion, it's a 50/50

    The T rex just seems to be a more complete version of a Giga where if a T rex was to say for some reason fight a spino then that be more difficult to tackle. The reason being the claws and hand structure of a Spinosaurus. I'm not suggesting it would beat a T rex but those claw strikes would be more problematic but I doubt like Jurassic park they would actually have fought each other. T rex like a Lion and Spino is like a tiger. More often a Lion would win but a tiger can have its day in that fight and be most challenging out of all

      Prehistoric Creature
      Prehistoric Creature
      Can we just disregard ARK when discussing this sort of topic? I'm not about to reference a video game to discuss actual prehistoric creatures. There's little (if any) sense in it.
      Now when we compare the actual dinosaurs, they both had their own merits. Obviously the biggest advantage a Tyrannosaurus has is it's bite force; all it needs is one good blow to cause serious (if not fatal) damage to most opponents. In addition, it's bulkier than the Giganotosaurus, and (debatably) could take more punishment. Now for the Giganotosaurus, while it doesn't have the crushing bite force, it is (comparitively) leaner than the Rex. With this in mind, it would probably be able to land more consistent blows on the Rex, although its attacks wouldn't be quite as damaging.
      Personally, I do think the Tyrannosaurus would come out on top in this matchup, based on the fact that it only needs one good strike to cause fatal or near-fatal damage to the Giganotosaurus.

      first T rex is bigger on average, 9500kg vs 7800kg. The biggest giga is 9600 kilos and the biggest rex is 11000 kilos.
      T rex advantages:
      Smarter
      Better eyesight
      Better smell
      Stronger bite (one shot) 6+ tonnes
      Alot bigger
      Stronger
      Turn quicker (agile)
      More battle experience (Trike and Anky and Alamosaurus, giga never fought Argentinasaurus)
      Taller at the highest point (neck) and at the standard measurement (hip-3.9 meters for rex vs 3.6 meters for giga.)
      Giga advantages:
      Jaw can close quicker
      faster sprint (useless in close combat unless retreating)
      Longer
      Teeth can make rex bleed
      Stronger arms but still small and not much strobger anyway
      T rex disadvantages:
      Slower
      Shorter length
      Could be blead out but due to it's bulk, it would be hard to get Giga's mouth round
      Smaller arms
      Giga disadvantages:
      Cannot process as much complex thought (stupid idiot)
      Smaller (eat your greens, oh wait)
      Non-binocular vision (blind lol)
      Less battle experience (wimp)
      Weaker bite ( don't skip mouth day)
      Worse smell (smell worn out from his stinky ah mum)
      Weaker (weak weakling)
      But in all serious T rex is a stronger, smarter, bigger and more evolved animal.
      T rex clearly has the advantage. But giga isn't completely outmatched however it could not stand up to Tyrannosaurus.

    Bone crushing spikes vs flesh slicing knives.
    I would say first bite wins, but I think the Rex’s first bite is more likely to have an immediate impact on a more varied radius of Giga’s body than vice versa. Sure if Giga hits the right spot then say goodnight Rex. However, it would need a much more calculated hit for that. Blood loss can drop the Rex sure but if it’s not a vital spot tear then the blood loss will take some time. While the Rex can almost chomp down anywhere and give a destabilizing blow. Advantage Rex in first hit capability.
    Giga was better at hunting large Sauropods that it can treat like giant meat blocks taking chunks away, and avoiding contact. Then waiting for the big lugs to bleed to death since they are not fast enough to simply get away from the Gigas fast enough. Even if the Sauropod doesn’t bleed to death in the Giga’s presence Giga can still get mouthfuls of meat to feed on. Sure the Sauropod had tail whip and weight but I doubt the Giga battled it face on. It was more of a shark style routine of ambush bite and wait.
    Rex was better at taking on smaller but much more heavily armored Dinos. The Rex is much more likely to have engaged in 1 on 1 battles to get its food than Giga was. Simply ambushing an armored Dino wouldn’t always win the day, Rex may have to get around and trough that armor. This requires more intelligence and toughness. This is also an advantage for Rex being more used to head on battle.
    So I think the Rex’s higher chance of the first bite impact and more likely to have engaged prey in a head on battle give it the edge. The Giga’s advantage in length is small and not enough to overcome Rex’s advantages.

    I think 1 ton weight difference is a lot. You underrestimate it by far. Even guys on their size would feel 1 ton. Bite force is not everything, Hyenas have a way bigger bite force than lions, still a lion beats a hyena easily, by his weight, size and claws. So I'm sure 80% win chance is wrong, as a T-Rex fan I'd go for 60% - 40% in favor of the T-Rex.

    • @Tyrannosaurus_rex.
      @Tyrannosaurus_rex. ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First T rex is bigger on average, 9500kg vs 7800kg. The biggest giga is 9600 kilos and the biggest rex is 11000 kilos.
      T rex advantages:
      Stronger but shorter arms
      Smarter
      Better eyesight
      Better smell
      Stronger bite (one shot) 6+ tonnes
      Alot bigger
      Stronger
      Turn quicker (agile)
      More battle experience (Trike and Anky and Alamosaurus, giga never fought Argentinasaurus)
      Taller at the highest point (neck) and at the standard measurement (hip-3.9 meters for rex vs 3.6 meters for giga.)
      Giga advantages:
      Jaw can close quicker
      faster sprint (useless in close combat unless retreating)
      Longer
      Teeth can make rex bleed
      Longer arms but still small and not much longer anyway
      T rex disadvantages:
      Slower
      Shorter length
      Could be blead out but due to it's bulk, it would be hard to get Giga's mouth round
      Smaller arms
      Giga disadvantages:
      Weaker arms (built like a twig)
      Cannot process as much complex thought (stupid idiot)
      Smaller (eat your greens, oh wait)
      Non-binocular vision (blind lol)
      Less battle experience (wimp)
      Weaker bite ( don't skip mouth day)
      Worse smell (smell worn out from his stinky ah mum)
      Weaker (weak weakling)
      But in all serious T rex is a stronger, smarter, bigger and more evolved animal.
      T rex clearly has the advantage. But giga isn't completely outmatched however it could not stand up to Tyrannosaurus.

    Trex was the strongest of all meat eating Dinos, and had the highest bite force of any animal besides Deinosuchus and Megalodon. Each larger therapod that was found that was larger than trex was only by length and maybe a ton, but none had the more muscular head or body than Tyrannosaurus Rex, and none had the sight or intelligence. Trex would literally be like a mix of a alligator and bull, having the bite force and the huge head for ramming into things. Tyrannosaurus Rex had to deal with triceratops and ankylosaurus, two very dangerous herbivores that T-Rex had preyed on, but had to be careful. So T-Rex didnt need long arms, it had the most powerful bite of any dinosaur and evolved to be the perfect land predator.

    • @mjjones2241
      @mjjones2241 7 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Deform 2017 not just any bite force, THE STRONGEST OF ANY CARNIVORE! The only creatures that matched or succeeded T-Rex's bite was Deinosuchus and Megalodon. 55,000 pounds of force on something's neck means automatic death or fatal wounds. And its no exaggeration here, trex out of the largest predators was the strongest. Therapods such as Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus had to kill by slicing while spinosaurus' teeth were designed for gripping fish and small dinosaurs. Trex on the other hand, had teeth literally the size of bananas, and were designed for crunching through bone. And also, T-Rex had to deal with very formidible herbivores with the likes of Triceratops and Ankylosaurus, and preyed on them. And T-Rex had na much broader head, great for vision equivalent to a eagle. And T-Rex had a large brain, which made it smarter, and had the strongest neck and jaw muscles of any land animal. So yeah, a Colossal bite would guarantee a win.

      Deform 2017 also Spino only had a bite force of 4,000 lbs, tiny compared to tyrannosaurus, and trexs teeth are much longer and heavier than spinos. Like I said, if trex landed a bite on the neck of any Dino, 90% of the time that dino is going to die. Tearing flesh and breaking bones is worse than just bleeding in the Dino world.

    • @mjjones2241
      @mjjones2241 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Deform 2017 like what the guy said on the video, trex had many evolutionary advantages over other large carnivores. Smarter, stronger bones and muscles, larger jaw with huge, bone-crunching teeth, heavier and broader head, and had a higher bite force. And what's worse is that even if the prey survived the T-Rex's bite, scientists discovered that T-Rex had bacteria in its mouth. So the prey would die anyway. Having a weak jaw is a bigger deal than you think. Trex having the strongest bite of any land predator meant that it could kill anything with that bite, even larger predators.

It's possible that giganotosaurus's bite was 6000 psi (I think) which was weak for it's body size and couldn't do as much damage as rex could do to it . Giganotosaurus was a bit more slender for he was more agile but this meant he was more vulnerable to the Rex's weapons
