    Venting about teacher stress is SO therapeutic! Teachers deal with such a wide range of emotions and responsibilities and its impossible to have a good time all the time. Positivity is key, but honesty is necessary for true growth to take place. Thanks for sharing! 😀

      That was so eloquently put! I absolutely agree and that's why I emphasised it not becoming a negative place but more one of support, acknowledgement and growth. Thank you for commenting xx

    Re Tip 1, it's rather remarkable how effective doing nothing and/or ignoring a problem as a strategy can be. Generally speaking problems tend to go away if you simply ignore them. The ones that keep appearing are ones that need to be tackled. Whilst this in & of itself can function as useful advice, I wonder how true this is in actuality! i.e. with a safeguarding incident we cannot just ignore it etc. but for a lot of things e.g. a tough afternoon, whilst it's important to reflect on why the lesson(s) didn't go as expected etc, there is a lot to be said for simply forgetting about it. My thinking would be to spend 15 mins writing down what you learnt/ what went wrong etc & then walk away from it & enjoying the rest of one's evening doing something else. A lot of this though is down to personality I suppose... Tip No 2 is excellent - thank you!!!

      Tip 1 is continuously a work in progress for me, lovely to hear your input and perspective on it! I hope there's something you can take from the video and try to adapt into your life xx

      @@PetitePrimary Yes, it's really difficult! In my case, I am a career changer so having worked in the private sector for a while got me used to getting criticised for all sorts of reasons (most of which were not even valid ones to be honest really) so I feel when I get started in Sept with teaching, the criticism I (no doubt) will receive (at whatever stage from whoever) I am hoping/anticipating will be mostly water off a ducks back. Teaching is one of the hardest jobs there is & it's particularly tough on empathetic conscientious young people. As you get older one tends to care less what people say about you - I think it's because we have less energy - especially when you come from "the school of hard knocks" (as we often used to say) :-) Have a good night & thanks again for all that you are doing with your channel - it's quite the offering!

    This was a great video lots of helpful tips. Although the part about sequence of lessons and planning it all then having to adapt it after 1 lesson has already happened to me these past weeks so now I just plan an outline of sequenced learning and if pupils can't push on then they can go back to really learn previous weeks learning objectives

      Absolutely! That's exactly what I'd recommend after losing so many weekends in my training year due to planning. Glad you found it useful 😊

    Such great tips!! I have been trying so hard recently to prioritise, putting additional stuff on a separate list is a great idea!

      Ah, I love your videos! Thank you so much for watching 😊 I think we're guilty of putting it all on the same list as we seem everything important but some things just have more urgency etc so should be highlighted or given it's own list!

    Hello, I’ve recently got onto a SCITT in Nottingham and was wondering if you have any thoughts on living at home or living away whilst completing teacher training. Do you think it’s more manageable living at home or can you manage just fine independently?
    Might seem like a weird question but if you have any advice or experiences to share that would be great!

    • @PetitePrimary
      @PetitePrimary  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a completely valid question Fraser 😊 You definitely can manage just fine independently and it wouldn't add to your workload. When considering pros and cons between the two though I'd think about commute time, finances, support that you may receive at home etc. Bit of a waffle, but I hope that helps

      @@PetitePrimary Thank you so much! It’s hard finding someone to ask these questions to so I really do appreciate your advice 😃

      It's difficult to generalise an answer that is so personal but I hope it gave some thinking points for making your decision 😊
