What I really appreciate about this group Is that when you watch them Their stick movements are so precise and the elevation of their sticks and hands are exactly in sync Just amazing
Having spent many years in drum and bugle corps, we would start practicing in October and go through to finals in August. It does take a lot of practice both individually and together. Your strongest snare drummer is usually in the center. You learn to listen in towards the center. When they do the cross over the two drummers on either end have it the hardest because there is nothing for them to bounce off of. As for the stick toss, it's not easy to toss from the left hand from traditional grip. I played snare and was in the center. But you need to learn all positions. When you add the choreography it makes it more difficult. They are extremely good though. I enjoy their shows.
Everyone I have watched so far, there is 1 stick drop, including this one. I appreciate the stick drop during or towards the end of their throws, they are so calm and seem less with continuing and retrieving another that i usually have to rewind a few times to catch where if came from - if I could be bothered. These men do this in their spare time. Crazy!
"Do I have any fans of the Top Secret Drum Corps?" LOL I believe I already established I am a huge fanatic of their stuff when you 1st were blown away by them. Suggesting you dive deeper into their shows to get an enhanced appreciation of what these volunteers do. Not seen this particular performance, so cool to get another show to be in aw of. I like that you are putting out so much variety of content for your viewers to be impressed by. A taste of different styles and talent can and does inspire people. Did you ever check out the "2,000 drummers on a beach" and "funniest drum solo of all time" ? They are great examples of how we drummers(amateurs and pros)can work with each other and alone to inspire and entertain others. A lot of bands one expects a certain level of proficiency. But solo #'s are interesting because they focus the talent. The 2K is very interesting to illustrate the complexity can be done in rhythm with a massive # of people at 1 time.
Colby Fulton Drums if Iam not mistaken a lot of the European military’s hand a drum corp like this . I think they practice in secretcy then they have comps the British roal guards have one also. Look up the practices it pretty cool.
You might have drumming knowledge and experience but you don't have observation skills. "...not a stick dropped...". It had been dropped half a bar previous and been stepped on by 2 drummers when you stated that. Ppl look up to reactors. Please be conscious of that. And yes, a little research (instead of asking your followers to do your work for you), would have told you that they are not paid and all have full time jobs. And yes, they are amazing. I've been casually following them since their second public appearance. (Chalk up another point bc I've left a comment. But how could I not?)

They are really amazing. And the members of this group are not professinal drummers. They all have their own professions. From banker to students.

You know, anyone of those lads would rather DIE than drop a stick and let the squad down! 🤟🔥🔥🔥🥁
As a drummer check out The Warning The Warning - Z Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/29/2022.
