The sad part is the taxi scam is actually true for foreigners that is really new to the philippines
That shit is pretty tame to be honest
Someone I know got knocked out with sedatives and robbed for all I remember
And that's if they can't afford guns
It's not only exclusive to the Philippines
Same thing happened to me when I was in Bangkok
That's only frequent in Metro Manila
Other big cities not so much

Philippines really is a place of suffering

Well, out of the city trips is not really a suffering experience as much as what does city people have, the only problem is our school's path/Market's path/Any public stores has a lot of obstacles that you usually see at camping trips or participating boyscouts like passing two streams and a large semi-lake, sometimes hills also a problem after a recent rain, other than that i am kinda jealous for how flat the road is but well traffic like in the TV or news, large lanes and highways might be a real pain in the ass and yes it sounds like a place of suffering.
Well true
Yah becuz of stubborn but many island of Ph is still paradise
Manila is kinda crap but the beaches and tropical places like Palawan, Boracay, and other places like those are pretty nice
Sounds like most places in South East Asia - especially where the taxi thing is concerned - but minus the gunshots, though.
Well the gunshots are maybe passing by tricycles which are motor bikes and they are mainly used as transport. think of it as a taxi service but near your home like literally you can wait outside and call a tricycle
Road constructions are very common here jackhammer sounds can be very loud and can be heard for around 2km away.
Gun shots were just an exaggeration. 😅
@@py-3366 Ikr i have never heard gunshot in our place but you never know what could happen.

Im a Filipino and i know what it feels living in the Philippines but why haato recommend PH for studies
I don't know, much but I think it's because Philippines has a wide variation of studies. Some go to Philippines to learn English instead of learning English in their country. Tutoring English in some countries is really expensive while tutoring English in the Pilippines is not that expensive, and expenses in the Phillipines are really cheap. I think that's why.
@@Corbych but going here alone is dangerous
@@NekuroMC I live here though, it is dangerous for foreigners but I have never experienced dangeorus stuff happening.
It's a very general tip for foreigners to try and find someone who came from said country to go with them. If any of my friends ever want to travel to the Philippines I'd be more than willing to be a guide for them, considering I've lived there for 15 years and traveled a lot before moving to the US. The education in the Philippines is superb (from my experience in private school) and the students aren't hard-pressed to find motivation to study considering all the school festivities, field trips, etc. that make student life more enjoyable. I do know a friend who studied there for a while before moving back here, and they agreed. I think that, in the current political climate though, it's shaping up to be a bit more risky to travel there, but whatever.
When President Marcos was the ruling president of the Philippines, U. P. (University of the Philippines) was mostly visited by foreigners to study.
Is what one of my past teachers said.
Welp, she's right about everything here. If you're a foreigner (especially Caucasian) you're a target in public places. And also, wearing something fancy or holding your phone out (especially a luxury brand like Apple) is pretty risky because you're a target for theft.
Don't get me wrong, I'm Filipino and I like Philippines but there's a good amount of jerks here.

as living in the philippines tips for any foreigners going to philippines pls avoid airport taxi and use grab or any online transpo app instead, and plus when drinking water dont use tap water in manila stright from the faucet as its not really safe to drink and tap water is mainly use for washing clothes , bathing and washing dishes, i recommend to buy mineral water in refilling stations for drinking it only cost 20+ php per galons, when renting a home, apartments, or condo unit in manila always check the nearby neighbors if they are noisy and loud and check their dog pet if its uncontrollable barking, avoid those neighbors before renting for a place to live as it will annoy and frustrate you everyday, when eating streetfood check how they prepare food before buying as some of the streetfood in manila is in between bad or good when it comes to preparing food in the streets, and also avoid random people asking/begging to become your tourist guide most of them are scam , i recommend to go to an official tour guide agencies in PH
