More than 90 percent of the city are in government hands and the area the enemy are holding is reduced to about 1 square kilometers. Really shows the futility of Islam. Why dont the group together like a cult and commit mass suicide so they dont bother the rest of the world it would be a win-win the world happy and these people happy with their virgins

Of course! These extremist picked the wrong country to mess with. They could have picked other countries with more sympathy for them (religion-wise), but they chose the Philippines where the president at that time (Duterte) is trigger happy and isn’t afraid of bloodshed against criminals and terrorists, this guy has no mercy. Plus the country is 90% catholic with a lot of discrimination against extremist types of muslims, these religious terrorists stirred up the hornets nest pretty good and they got obliterated. If they haven’t taken hostages, the military would have dropped a huge bomb and wiped them out in one fell swoop and nobody will cry for them.

i wonder why they choose Philippines to be the battle ground, not in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore etc. Don't they think among the South East Asia, Philippine Military are the most experienced fighters in this kind of battle if not in weaponry. I think, there is something to do with Politics that the original enemy wanted to take over, and this militant is just a hired people to be on the battle front. Imagine some of the members of this militant came from other neighboring country to fight with them.
