- hey cuties! like the title says, i bought myself the animal crossing new leaf 3ds!! ive literally wanted this thing for sooo many years, and i know it's just a hunk of plastic but this would mean sooo much to child me! so i wanted to share this moment with you all :) as i say in the video, pls feel free to join my discord server (linked below) or ask me some questions if you have any~!

*edit: someone let me know in the comments that buying animal crossing: new leaf with the "welcome amiibo" on the cover DOES have the update pre-installed!! so be sure to purchase that version!*
just a note since ive got various copies of acnl: those versions also have the logo changed depending on the version u get
-the plain white leaf on the green background is the og
-the green leaf on the white background and with some colured sparks around it is the first press of the welcome amiibo update
-the plain white leaf WITH A "+" symbol on the center and a green background i believe was one of the latest versions of welcome amiibo
both versions of welcome amiibo should be the same but maybe the last one fixes some issues(? idk

It makes me so happy seeing others getting into the 3ds! I always wanted one and was able to splurge on a new 3ds xl when I got my first job and I’ve loved it ever since! I’m glad you were able to snag the animal crossing one! They really made some banger designs to go along with the games! I’ve had my eyes on the link to the past ds for a while!
i know it's been SO fun playing on it, i've honestly been using it more than my switch lately! 😂 omg the link to the past ds is SO gorgeous, i'm always looking at ebay listings for it haha 😅

The cards that it came with were ar cards that you could point the camera at and they would show cute animations, it was a gimmick they included but never actually did anything with as far as I’m aware:’D but this 3ds is THE 3ds for me, out of all of the designs it’s absolutely the cutest

Hey! I wanted to inform that you can actually completely swap your Japan 3DS to America. I have one and I swap it to America, my new leaf that I got after words works perfectly normal and showing none of those Japanese issues, I mainly did this for some of the homebrew apps was in Japanese instead of English and I really didn't like that since this was the first time I was messing with a modded 3DS. Obviously you don't want to do that now since you started that town but it is a option and possible!

the 3Ds hack guide, which is its own website is what I followed for pretty much all my 3Ds homebrewing. They have one for region swapping.

The same thing happened to me with my modded japanese new 3ds xl in Animal crossing. All you have to do is get luma locale switcher. It allows you to switch the region and language per game

I purchased my AC:NL 3DS XL back at launch and it's by-far one of the most BEAUTIFUL 3DS' I've ever seen. I also have a normal New 3DS with an AC: Happy Home Designer backplate, which is really cute, but it still doesn't come close to the AC:NL 3DS XL. Congrats on your find!

Happy belated birthday!!! I have an original 3ds and one day I hope I can get the Animal Crossing 2ds XL, or any new model, because playing on the bigger screens seems so nice. Especially when making custom designs.
Most ds games have furigana so while you learn kanji it can be pretty helpful depending on your learning style.
I can't wait for gen 5 and 6 remakes those are some of my favourite gens.
The repackage does have the update already installed.

I'm glad you know about modding! the japanese 3ds's are so much more affordable and usually in better condition too (apparently na kids don't know how to take care of things lol). I've been wanting this edition as well it's so cute! I have the all white one and wanted to just swap the outer plates for the ones with the pattern but it's the only edition that doesn't have aftermarket shells available it's so sad 😭
haha yeah this one was in amazing shape! my old ds's from childhood are pretty crusty 😂
This is my first time watching you and I love your vibe so much and also I don’t know if you know this already but the AR cards has an app that you can use on the ds called “AR games” and the “?” card can be used in some games like tomodatchi life :) hope that helps
Oh yeah also you can also change the region through modding so if you want to change the region you can that’s what I done with my Japanese ds :)

Hey one thing I recommend is jailbreak your 3ds you can use just about anything that has an SD card slot phone tablet but I reccomend computer it's an easy process

i'm so glad you're enjoying them!! i've been watching a ton of 3DS videos too lately 😅 i'd say the white part of the 3DS is slightly glossy, similar to the plain black one i own, but the colorful patterned bits look more matte! 💕

aww thank you so much!! 💕💕 if you want to use amiibo cards in new leaf, i'd recommend the new 3ds! it has a built-in scanner, whereas you need a separate amiibo card reader for the regular 3ds. but if amiibos aren't a big deal to you, then i think the regular 3ds is just fine ☺️

thank you!! i found this one on ebay, it's a japanese model which was cheaper than the north american ones! i paid around $120 for it i believe?
I'm not sure if this is true, because I don't own a 3ds anymore but i heard if you homebrew(jailbreak) your system you could remove the region lock and play any game you want,, there's also custom online servers (pretendo) since the official Nintendo servers will be going offline soon.. :( it's pretty cool what people have done with the 3ds and other consoles😄 yippee
yep that's exactly what i did! i didn't know there were online servers though, i'll have to check that out! 😍

yep that's basically the other option i was hinting at 😅😅 i didn't realize that was an option at first which is why i ended up modding my other ds and taking the files from there lol

i don't think that's something you can mod unfortunately 😭😭😭
If you have your 3ds modded, then you can install pretendo. They are working to preserve all the 3ds/wii u online functionality. Acnl is on their list for support but isn't supported yet unfortunately, but it will be. I believe they already have all the dream addresses backed up.

i got it for $160 US from lucky_eight_trading on ebay! the SD card it came with was 4GB but since I modded it I put in a 64GB card so that there's lots of room for games!
