They're called proxy-shopping/forwarding services I've used some in the past, and it's insane how well-taken care of even used things from Japan are. I've received little gifts and candies, hand-written notes from Japanese sellers, and in general, they're super communicative and their attention to detail is insane. I've also been trying to learn Japanese for a super long time, and have tried using games to do it! I just bought Kanken DS 3 for DS just a few weeks ago, and it has yet to arrive, but I'm super excited to try it out. Super cool console! I hope I can snag something similar soon, just waiting for a good deal. Some ideas for videos: 1. Talking about the history of your console/DS types in JP region vs other regions 2. Talking about the JP-region games you've purchased 3. How you're learning Japanese (maybe even through videogames) 4. Your experience using Buyee to grab stuff (it may even lead to sponsorships!) 5. Buyee/Sendico/ZMarket etc. haul - I've seen those videos do really well, and may lead to sponsorships. Worst-case scenario is you get a ton of sick Japanese exclusives

Also I feel like Nintendo did an amazing job with the 2DS designs, I had the poke ball 2ds which actually had the release button from a poke ball on top you could press. Been collecting DS games and systems my whole life, throughout the past few years have downsized selling all my exclusive consoles except my main 3ds but realized it's the only console I like playing then came back full throttle snagging every deal i find lol. Long live the 3ds you will not be forgotten.
When I got my used 2DS XL, I was worried about that floppiness from the top screen but ppl in the comments are saying that it's normal so it's very reassuring. Other than the stylus and the speakers are where your hands are, it's a very lightweight system that's comfortable to hold
I just got myself a white Dsi LL from buyee / mercari, very excited for when it comes. I have bought other ds systems from japan off eBay before and their conditions for the same price or less than what I would find in Australia is so so so much better!
I highly recommend installing custom firmware on one of your 2/3DS’s As long as you follow the read-only instructions, you’ll be fine. People make video guides all the time and while they can be helpful, they get out of date really quickly, I mean technically not anymore since the 3DS & Wii U officially aren’t supported anymore, but Nintendo will probably do some random update in the future to try to prevent modding, so go with the read-only guide is what I’m saying 😂 Nice unboxing video! It really does seem like Japanese people take better care of their things!

Love your video ! Brings back so many great memories! To me personally the current Nintendo Consoles (Switch, Switch Lite) are a bit disappointing. I grew up with the late 2000s / early 2010s generation of Nintendo consoles like the Dsi and the Wii. To me that era of Nintendo is unmatched. Not just that I personally like the older games better and the consoles obviously are very nostalgic to me, but I also feel like the whole Nintendo vibe has changed. I mean of course times are changing, the technology is evolving constantly and of course the brand has to go with it. But to me it has lost that typical Nintendo Charm. For example I really loved the miis that they got rid of. Playing Sports Resorts with these was so much fun. Looking at the new Sports Resort version for the switch it’s just not it. But one of the biggest aspects for me is that the home menu of the switch is kinda bland compared to the other consoles. I loved the home menus of the dsi and the 3ds and the Music in the old consoles was such a highlight! The switch is just completely missing that. Such a shame but for me it’s just missing that whole Nintendo magic. I also feel like Nintendo is losing that level of uniqueness and creativity it always has. I mean for example looking at the designs of the controllers for the game cube or the n64 or just the whole revolutionary concept of the Wii just had some sort of creativity that I always connected with Nintendo. That’s just another thing that I think kind of got lost. Now the switch is just another not too special console that’s even behind the power of other their competitors.
I bought this 2ds xl animal crossing edition as my first ever nintendo console, and it was at the last year before release of Switch =D But I still love it (and that I get animal crossing ed.) and sometimes play in Etrian Odyssey games (they are the best with mapping by stylus)
I also have this edition! At least the European version. The box that I got with it is bit bigger, and have some yellow parts instead of red and an illustration on top. This is the only 2DS I got and I cherrish it so much. Probably my favorite console. I mean after my Game Boy Pocket, that is.
I did have a 2ds xl but gave it away. I did enjoyed porting arcade games from MAME to it. I guess I'm spoiled by HD screens and good button/joysticks controls.
It is a really pretty handheld. I remember being upset when Europe got the mgs phantom pain edition ps4, europe and japan have cool goodies when it comes to special edition consoles

I do use Mercari if I can't find the stuff that i'm looking for, but I usually do find good stuff outside of Tokyo for dirt cheap lol That 2DS looks nice tho, especially once you start it up and add your themes. Too bad the switch doesnt have that same feel. lol
I bought mine three years ago for 150 british pounds on facebook market, without box, with the original charger and Animal crossing NL and WW. I am so happy that I bought the console then, the prices are totally ridiculous
Filmic Pro or the new Blackmagic Camera app for iOS should be able to give you a histogram and other monitoring overlays so you can nail your exposure. :)

custom firmware is really easy trust me, it does help to watch several videos and i recently just changed the region of a jpn console, so it could be in english (for a friend) and it wasnt as scary as I thought it'd be. On another note! I have the same animal crossing edition console that I added cfw to; and I totally agree with you....why is the stylus black? doesnt make any sense. Now that the eshop is closed down, ive saved a lot of money not buying any games.
The hinge has always been like that (for the new 2ds xl, yes I know annoying names), the new 3ds xl is not really like that though. But the latter is heavier than the former.
I've never understood people that trash their own belongings that they paid for. Some secondhand gaming stuff I buy is really gross. I once had a Wii that looked like it was used as a cutting board (with smudges and all). All my original game boxes I had as a kid (at least the ones that I didn't sell when I was a dumb kid) and still have in my collection are still in very good condition. My favourite 3DS console variant, I use mine as my main system. New 2DS XLs have the best special edition variants of any Nintendo consoles imo.

It is a 2ds xl. The normal 2ds couldn't close. In Japan, the xl versions are called the LL.

I just bought a used new 3ds today. And I had some custom cover plates and a new upper screen cover try to make it refresh.
