You should really check out the 3ds modding scene. It’s super easy to do and I can play any game from any region, and even snes games on my old 2ds! That way you don’t spend a fortune trying to play the 3ds library also gives you access to digital games because nintendo left the 3ds in the dust and killed e shop.

make sure to mod it! Nintendo recently shut down their servers so homebrew is the way to go
the nintendo 3ds LL is also japanese? Do i have to homebrew to play english games?
@@MochiMochi4The LL is the Japanese version of the XL. We were just on holidays in Japan and picked one up from a thrift store in fantastic condition. Without modding it is region locked and will only play Japanese game cards. We've just modded it and changed the region, so it's now in English and will play everything. It wasn't too hard to do.
I LOVE playing the 3DS again this year, I wish so badly they would turn the online store back on, Nintendo would make so much money by leaving the store on!! I miss it!! 😢

thats awesome and such a great price! my original 3ds was the teal one but i sold it to get the animal crossing new leaf 3ds xl when it came out and i still have that one though i mainly use the new 2ds xl in black and blue which i modded

i thought it was! someone else commented and corrected me. when i got a 3ds when it first came out, pink wasn’t an option (at least here in the US). I guess i just missed it as a kid!

You can set the language to English I think and yes you should mod it. I got a Japan only game on my North American console recently
I was playing ACNL too while watching lol
Nope, any JP Consoles only have the Japanese language installed. Got a Wii U from Buyee and I had to mod it to get it to have some english translation. Its not fully English but some text I can understand now. I think youll need to flash the 3DS with US or EU Firmware to get english

the Nintendo 3DS LL is the Japanese model (the US/PAL model ends in XL). If you want to play english 3DS games, yes you’ll have to homebrew. If you want to play english DS games, you don’t have to homebrew. Hopefully that helps!
