Good review, just a clarification, Paul didn’t kick off a Butlarian Jihad it was a holy war. The Butlarian Jihad refers to the war 10,000 before the first book when humans revolted against the oppressive Thinking Machines that had enslaved humans for over 1000 years.
Hey good catch there Patrick. So, while making this video I searched up what the Butlerian Jihad was which was why I called it the jihad to the Golden Path later in the video. That was a rookie mistake on my part. The Butlerian Jihad sure does sound more relatable than ever. Hope it never happens. Wasn't the Butlerian Jihad named after a famous Victorian-age author named Samuel Butler who wrote Erewhon which was about society revolting against all technology?
@@EnclaveCulture close, it was named that because that same woman in the books killed a thinking machine in retaliation because one killed a beloved family member. That started the revolt that became the Butlarian Jihad and they named it that after her because she was a pivotal character in that jihad or “war”.
