At 48 years old I’m old enough to remember and have enjoyed Dune many different ways. The original 1984 film was definitely a pillar in my love of sci-fi and it caused me to read the books when I got a little older. These new films have not disappointed and I’m thrilled a third movie is being made. Dune part two is the only film I’ve seen in a theater so far this year, so much of Hollywood is a mess but Villeneuve is doing something special.
I read Dune in the 70's, and had to wait for Dune (1984). I wasn't really thrilled with it, because it's just too much to cram into a single movie. When Dune (2021) came out, I avoided it. Is he not saying “I didn’t have to try at all I just kinda did whatever and everyone else handled the heavy lifting”, basically? Felt like a bit of a letdown as I was hoping for more insight on the choices he made. Ironically not doing himself any favors when it comes to people who say he was terribly miscast. I liked him in the role but he does feel a bit out of place.
This is why these films are so special not just the cinematography and D.V.s magic but how amazing the cast is and how they loved their roles coz they all did and absolutely blinding job. Definitely my favorite movie ever. Both of them.💯💙
@mollywoodshots6503 @hypatia137 I would add vulnerable, maternal, strict but protective; torn between her love for her children and her ambitions/beliefs; planting seeds to steer events in the direction she wants but then restraining herself at crucial moments to watch the payoff unfold.Hollywood has many classic examples of feminine, manipulative & lethal 'femme fatales', but Lady Jessica as portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson definitely does not conform to the traditional tropes.
Dune is a very, very special novel for so many readers around the world, and the way these two film adaptations were handled was perfect. I enjoyed some of the liberties taken by Villenueve in regards to dogmatic Fundamentalism, while I was less appreciative of his changes with Chani and her misplaced anger with Paul at the conclusion of the second film.
This new version of Dune's cast perfectly mirrors the old Dune 1984 cast. The younger ones will all be future huge mega stars one day. The older ones being already great stars. It's awesome.
This series has saved cinema for me. So much disappointment over the years with various franchises I have loved but what Denis and this cast did for Dune was nothing short of perfect. Cannot wait for Dune Messiah!

OK….!! I SEE YOU WB…. All these extras bits better be on the EXTENDED DIRECTOR’S CUT!! Please!!! GIVE THE FANS THE LONG VERSION WE ALL WANT!!!!
Christopher Walken's comments regarding playing a king were very smart. Big props to whoever gave him that fantastic advice
Both of them.💯💙
Watch & learn Hollywood, Lady Jessica is how you do a strong female character: feminine, manipulative & lethal
Real
This IS a Hollywood movie, lol.
@@eh.6595 Ohh really, didn't knew, thanks a bunch 🙄
@mollywoodshots6503 @hypatia137 I would add vulnerable, maternal, strict but protective; torn between her love for her children and her ambitions/beliefs; planting seeds to steer events in the direction she wants but then restraining herself at crucial moments to watch the payoff unfold.Hollywood has many classic examples of feminine, manipulative & lethal 'femme fatales', but Lady Jessica as portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson definitely does not conform to the traditional tropes.
Bud, this is Hollywood. Stop trying to be edgy.
Lady Margot Fenrig was just chef’s kiss 🤌🏼. Her performance was so intoxicating…one of my favorite scenes of the movie
This new version of Dune's cast perfectly mirrors the old Dune 1984 cast. The younger ones will all be future huge mega stars one day. The older ones being already great stars. It's awesome.
Finally find these video of behind the scene of Dune 2021. LOVE IT.
Can’t wait for part 3 has to be the best movie in the 21 century so far
This project was truly handled with love by all involved and the audience felt it.
This series has saved cinema for me. So much disappointment over the years with various franchises I have loved but what Denis and this cast did for Dune was nothing short of perfect. Cannot wait for Dune Messiah!
Absolute cinematic GOLD. This trilogy will forever be a masterpiece.
Dune Part 1 and 2 are my absolute favorite movies to date. Perfect examples how movies can be platforms for rich story telling
6:31 - The details like keeping the distrans in but not explaining it kept the runtime manageable.
Rebecca Ferguson is truly a legend
Ahhh you are taking me back to the days of LOTR and Pirates of the Caribbean special features.. amazing stuff!
Thanks for sharing this side of the film. Greatest movie ever created.
