When i owned a Ford Sierra 2.0 Cologne V6 as my first car, i toke the engine appart as study project being electrician.
Also lapped the valves, then toke the heads to a revision shop to ask how i did, he laughed.
You don't lap your valves, valves are cut at 45º angle and valve seat are 44º. lapping valves allows carbon built up as the contact area is bigger and you don't want that.
That's the cool part of BMW Boxer, only 8 valves, valve stem guides and seals.
You might wanna have the bohr of the cylinders and piston measured for roundness as the piston lay on their side all the the time.

While you at it, look if you find a motor race sport company with spine and have then heads CNC port flowed to get an additional free 5-10hp, some thing one can do themself's, but these companies have flow measuring tools.

Good stuff but you got your inlet and exhaust valves mixed up.

Nice Video and well explained thank you 😃
Are you going to replace the valve seal rings anyway?
Did you remove the value guides or just leave them in place?
Did you remove the value seats? If yes was it actually needed?

Hi, im in too minds what to do, theres not much wear on valves, valve seats, and valve guides, i might do a video on lapping valves in, then do another pressure test, or maby i could go more in depth and have seats and guides removed, i might need to consult my local machine shop, and costs, there likely to be special valve seats and valves with it being oil cooled, im also tempted to just lap valves and see if the engine can reach 100,000 miles, thank you
