The Trangia is not the fastest boiler, but it is reliable, will never break, and should be carried as a backup to any stove system. Also, fuel can be found anywhere.
😁👍 ..yep, Metric. When we converted from Imperial in 1970, at age 20, I thought '🙄'. I 'survived' the transition .. adapted / did not die and quickly realised that it was for the better. No more lbs of Stone, BSF / Whitworth etc, etc to Inch along with on Foot for Miles and such 😏. We had already in 1961, moved away from the Pound Sterling to a Metric-based Currency so the conversion / mindset was not too bad.
I've been going back and forth about whether I should buy it or not. I already have a version in a sense with the same Chinese burner you showed and a small pot that it nests in, but I'd kinda like to get it just to complete my collection of Trangia stuff
I can recommend using the cookset with the handle up, as I found the burner a bit flamey and ot melted the plastic on the handle a bit. Ive used mine for making cups of tea, warming up soup or cooking a bowl of porridge (oarmeal in the US?). It's a nice little set for that.
👍👍👍 .. nice 😊. I've been 'mulling' over getting this set for some time. I do not really need it but another Trangia Burner would be nice .. me having realised just how good they really are. The Stand and Pot will be a bonus .. and with the additional optional Gel Burner, I would not have to 'swop out' as much prior to having a 'cookup' .. having then, more just 'pick up and go' sets. Perhaps I'll have to 'create' an 'International Situation / Emergency' that would necessitate me having to get this set 😁. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..
@@planetsideagent thanks ordered one for next day delivery, i am surprised how much smaller it is in person, the pot stand feels flimsy to me, but it will do the job anyway, i am wondering is there a version in stainless steel ?
I'm using the MSR nesting Alpine 2p + kettle. The Trangia fits inside along with a Bic plus soap container and scrubbie. Much more versatile for longer trips, not much larger or heavier.
I think the best bet for lightweight is a FancyFeast alcohol stove and a titanium pot. A Foster beer can pot would be lighter but then you would need some kind of protection for the crushable aluminum can and then you would be back to the titanium pot weight.

👍👍👍 .. a wise choice.
Another good cookset video! Thank you sir ...
Ótimo vídeo Parabéns

Thanks for the video, looking to buy one.

Good point. I've had handle coatings melt with other stoves.
I do not want to gripe too much but the measurements in mm seem to be off by a factor of 10. Otherwise it´s a nice video.
🙂, sometimes my brain and mouth don't work well together..

Yeah, I didn't need it ether, I just have a thing for cook kits and stoves.
Check out my play list. 😄
@@planetsideagent 👍 .. I do .. and it tends to get me into trouble 😁.

I'm sure the pot stand will last, unless you use a cast iron skillet on it 🙂
I don't think Trangia has ever made stainless steel.

Looks like Captain phasma from Star Wars
Thanks for the video. I’ll stick to my trangia 25. If I wanted light weight, this is not it.
