You would think there would be an option for light amplification for dark areas, Obviously there should be already be some light dampening for being close to a star, as without it you would cook.
In modern ships, they turn on red lights. It's such a weird choice to use blue or have white light on at night. All ships not just misc really should go to red lights.
Totally agree with how tedious it is to sell cargo. Just let me off load into the cargo deck on arrival! Its absurd that we have to sell, undock, unload, redock, buy, and then load.
It would make more sense to have a cargo app on your mobi-glass. Prior to docking, you could arrange to sell and agree on a price using the app. Then, go to the cargo area, offload, get paid, then either leave or dock to store your ship.
Looks like there is no hurry flying the Hull C this patch either. But I guess not seeing your expensive cargo on the trade terminal is thematic for Halloween!
To get around the no sale glitch: I've had success in clicking "sell" and then not giving any inputs until I see my aEUC amount change. Even if I see the " accepted" notification.
I would use "the sun" no matter what solar system I was in. The only time I wouldn't, is when I was in a binary or bigger system. At which point I would only use sunrise/sunset and then refer to individual stars in every other case.
To me: SUN refers to the Star providing light & warmth to my current system, while anything outside the system has a STAR. It's a relative reference point. Of course, it would be SUNS or STARS in systems where it would apply. 😊
I love the idea of getting a dedicated hauler and bringing cargo around the galaxy. fighting off or evading pirates, and maybe engaging in a little 'Privateering' myself.
Quoting the Wiktionary entry on _sun_ here: "(astronomy) A star, especially when seen as the centre of any single solar system." This means that referring to the star of the system you are currently in as "the sun" is perfectly acceptable. I would like to compare this to a Star Trek DS9 dialogue about the moon. There, it is conventionally called Luna, as any other moon is also a moon (obviously), and referred to as The Moon by natives, while anyone else calls it Luna. Similarly, I think the Sun of our solar system would be called "Sol" (the starmap calls it this).
I'm also dealing with every loaded cargo box behind me popping up in my UI. Too much clutter, and that's in the Connie Taurus. I havn't had the no-sale bug tho.
The worst ship for this I’ve found for this bug is the Caterpillar, because of where the cockpit and cargo are located it occludes the entire bottom right quarter of the UI 😂

We call it "sun" or "the sun" or "our sun" because it is our system's primary star. If any other system were populated, the local population would consider their own primary star "sun". If you can’t jump directly to the station try jumping to the main city on the planet. It is easy to find because it looks like a home plate on the planet and you can jump to it from anywhere putting you right above the atmosphere allowing you to jump to the station.
Okay @1:15 spawned a HULL-C and headed for the docking port to find it NOT EXTENDED and my HULL-C just sitting out there waiting, impossible to reach! No way to extend a docking port on my end, so logged off and finished my beer... Good instruction!
Thinking about it, I think it is perfectly natural to use sunrise/sunset in a system other than the Sol system. English does this with other words; the one that springs to mind is geyser. Simply put, in some cases we have similar words for different concepts, not entirely unlike how we have "the Earth, where we live" and "the earth beneath our feet", and you could speak poetically (like Carl Sagan would) about other planets being "earths" that are more or less reminiscent of our Earth, for example to make a point about their context about their habitability, etc. - but if you were to say they were "Earths" (capital E), only then would be a little confused, thinking someone might have cloned Earth somehow, or drawn parallel dimensions together to have several Earths next to one another... Don't be afraid to invent new contexts when you have to; at least I think your scripts are well written and your trains of thoughts are clear. From having played the game long enough now I realized that, in most cases it doesn't matter whether the speaking parties are stood on a moon or a planet in order to communicate clearly within a context, yet I find myself annoyed that we don't have a singular word that covers both (or all) cases conveniently for both informal and formal speech. Do you have any suggestions, maybe?
This is a wonderfully comprehensive response! I shall rest easy using common parlance, and know it carries an expert stamp of approval! Thank you for taking the time!!
Please note our star is call Sol you can use the word Sun for any star as it is a synonym for star as A star is called a Sun only if positioned at the centre of a planetary system

We humans are quite lazy with naming big things. There is no sanctioned name for the sun as is there for the other planets. a sun is a star. what about the moon? Calling them sol and lua is just calling them sun and moon in another language. BUT astronomers use the term sun and moon, but when referring to our system, they capitalize it. I've been running the Hull C the last couple weeks or so, but damn is it a painful loop. I still have no idea why they opted to have the docking and cargo loading be two different places. Okay, I DO understand why they did it, but they shouldn't have. 1) dock, 2) run into the kiosk before your ship is stored and sell the cargo (it'll definitely store in this time), 3) run back to your ship before it stores (it's DEFINITELY stored - so spawn a dragonfly, fly it to a landing pad outside, run in, spawn the Hull C, which will DEFINITELY not spawn on the arm and be inaccessible), 4) spawn your Hull C, 5) go to the landing pad where your Dragonfly is, 6) fly to your Hull C and board before it stores (also another nasty bug here - if you get the message, but your ship is still there, you won't be able to undock, and you'll have to store it and try again), 7) fly to the loading/unloading zone and SHUT OFF YOUR ENGINES so the grid doesn't detect you as moving, 8) unload (this actually works pretty reliably now), 9) go back to the docking arm, 10) repeat 1 - 8 to load your ship, 11) rinse and repeat at the next trade location. That is breathtakingly unfun. Just have the loading zone be at the docking arm, have more docking arms, and have the store time be longer for the Hull C.
Inidentally - when I can't make the quantum jump system get to a planets orbital - (e.g: everus harbour) I have found I can always target and jump to the capital city. All capital cities are direclty below the orbital, so just jump to the capital, and then turn the ship off and on as soon as you get close, then target the orbital and jump to it instead. its a pain, but easier than finding a.n. other planet to jump to and potentially go the wrong direction or whatever.
The issue with no round being found around a planet is „easily“ fixed. The issue is that your ship overshoots the spot it was going to (sometimes happens when you jump to a space station directly from a moon or so). Hit clear route and then jump to any OM marker you can find (usually there‘s one a few hundred kilometres behind you (the one you overshot). From there, setting a route should work. Gosh I love this game .-.
I just made a test run with distilled spirits from one jump point gateway to another. The buying part was straight forward. But the selling part. Damn! that was very frustrating. despite the station having enough room for my entire cargo I was limited to batches of 600 SCU on the admin console so I had to repeat the loop 6 times: get to the admin office, sell, return to ship, go to the dock, unload, return to the pads (I didn't want to add the extra time of docking and undocking, so I decided to EVA between the ship and and a free service pad), rince and repeat. With of course a couple bugs kicking in like being thrown out of the elevator half way between the hangar lobby and the pad, and having to EVA the rest of the distance or returning to the menu and hoping the cargo would not be lost. I have the good surprise once to discover that the servers had registered I had sold cargo pending delivery and immediately pointed me to the cargo deck when I fired up the engine after connecting to a new server. In the end after a couple hours of this tedious process I finally got everything sold and unloaded.
@@Farrister Officer, I swear it's all legal and all due taxes have been paid. Wait... Oh no! Not again. The dockers forgot a box. And I'm already short on time for the next pickup. I can't turn back. Oh I know. Please Officer, if you don't mind, would you be kind enough to bring that box to our client on your way back? There's nothing urgent. i know you have tight schedule. Just drop it at the admin when you have time.
I'm honestly thinking of starting some sort of in-game cargo insurance company. Just personally, I hated the fact that one modem hiccup and you're out millions of aUEC. Hull C looks good. I still prefer the versatility of the C2, but I'm definitely happy with more options, and I'm really looking forward to some more of the light capital ships rolling out.
It's perfectly fine to use sun as term for other stars. We do call our sun the Sun because that is what it is. It's less of a name but more like naming it what it is for us. :D
Cargo running is by far the worst gameplay loop so far, both in terms of bugs and profit. It amplifies all issues currently in the game, unfortunately a lot of which have to do with cargo boxes/buying/selling stuff. When a PVE bounty hunt bugs out to be friendly, or when some shenanigans happen in a salvage run, you can just shrug and cancel the mission. When a cargo run fails at any point, you've got potentially millions of aUEC tied up or, in the worst case scenario, lost
The people telling you that the Sun in our solar system is only named the Sun are idiots. It is Named Sol, per the Sol System. Stars are Sun's Thus the Stanton System has a Sun, it is just named Stanton.
actually 'The Sun' can be used to refer to any solar system's star, OUR sun is cataloged as the star Sol, stanton is the star stanton, the sun of the stanton system.
I thought you might like this piece of information. 'A star is called a Sun only if positioned at the centre of a planetary system. And because many stars in the galaxy also have planets orbiting them, this also makes them Suns. The Sun appears about 64 billion times brighter than it would if it were at the distance of the closest star' For reference, what we refer to as the Sun is officially called Sol which is Latin for Sun.
Hilarious. Every single time I check out a video from a dedicated fan of this beautiful "game" ... inevitably there's at least one, if not dozens, of game breaking bugs. Smh. Great video tho English fella! 👍🏼
Well, I know it’s not necessary, can you use other ships that load cargo externally in this manner to try out the mechanics? Such as the Hull A or Nomad? I’m just curious if other ships can load in the loading zone around the stations.
i bought one with my store credit, but was so disappointed 9/10 times spawning it on the docking port, the docking bridge didnt extend so the doors wouldnt open, but i didnt seem to have the issue of cargo loading but trying to unload cargo, it just kept telling me to come to a full halt even though i was. ended up melting it and have the reclaimer again now which prints money
I used a reclaimer and loaded the entire hull c with construction materials and can’t sell it. Have to now get my buddy’s to all come in cargo ships and fly down to sell over and over again
I thought u could only sell helium at baijini point? Thats one of my favorite route, so processed food from baijini to everus, helium is from serraphim to baijini.. thats my route on 3.20b and with outstanding profit aswell
There is a Bug report for your cargo showing up in your UI. One of the comments claimed that CIG said it was NOT a bug. I'm not sure why they would claim at Citizen Con about decluttering your UI and then do that on purpose.
When you docked at Everus, how big is the possibility that the ship get stolen while going to the office to sell? I mean, In a hangar we have the hangar doors to prevent someone to just run off with the ship, is there something locking the ship to the harbour during this?
Can someone tractor the cargo from spindles whilst the Hull C is docked? Just wondering how vulnerable everything is. I'm guessing that even if you couldn't use a tractor beam directly in space, you could use it from within a ship through an open door to strip the cargo.
probably, but what's more likely to happen is there is no security protecting your ship when its docked. someone could theoretically go to ur docking port and just steal your ship.
how do you unlock the camera for cinematic views? also whats the trade route? I'm thinking about getting the Hull C today (despite people tell me not to, since its sooo buggy and I will lose money on trading) I tried sell my stuff on the reclaimed and I for some reason cannot sell at space stations (at the start I could but now I cant)
Anybody who quibbles over you calling a star "sun" sounds VERY fun at parties. I refer to any star as "the sun" when I'm on a planet cause well... it's the sun.... unless there are more then they would be "the suns"
How did you get such a smooth, consistent camera rotation when you did the 12x cargo loading time lapse? Really hoping you answer, I've been trying to figure this out for some time now. Cheers!
The name of our Star is “SOL” the Latin word for sun. Sun is a generic term & is an appropriate name for any local star in a system. So you’re all good using Sun!
I actually melted my Hull C until it’s in a more working state. I love this ship but it’s cost me a ton of auec. I’ll grab it from buy backs once it’s working.
You can - in old patches, there was a big risk of being deposited into space and therefore ending up stuck, and I'm kinda scarred by that, so I always stay seated safely :D
Hiya pal aye its a bit of a gamble at the moment as the limits for the economy are a little if not non existant. I had the same problem with Distilled Spirits, Had to wait for station to buy 600 at a time, nightmare
I was playing with the Hull C during the two days of IAE 2023, and it was an absolute fiasco! It's not a problem if the ship is slow or takes an era to load a full load. That is understood by the mechanics of the ship itself. The problem is, right now the cargo transfer system is unstable and you may find yourself unexpectedly floating in the void wondering, where is my ship? Or with multiple bugs for loading and unloading and when you can carry charge for several million credits... It's a recipe for disaster. I finished playing it when I lost over $2.5 million because of those failures.Eventually, it will be a great ship, but until the bugs are fixed, I don't recommend it.
The spookiest thing on display today is the Hull-C's lack of a bed, toilet and really any living space to speak of. Edit: My bad, I see it's only accessable through a ladder, when I explored the ship, I only used the elevators.
I bought a Hull C but I haven't ever tried a cargo run, knowing how bugged it is. I'm not complaining as I can use it to get to a Liberator with a hefty 150$ straight gain, but overall It's difficult to justify giving CIG fresh money in recent times.
Hello. I had the same problem trying to sell my cargo, from the docking doors not opening when returning to my ship, the falling out of the lift and floating in space when returning to the ship but selling the cargo is a big problem, after 5 hours trying to sell and dock up, some bell end fly's in to me in a reclaimer , blows us both up at the docking bay, he will just return and scoop my cargo up. Lost all money, will return to the game after the next wipe. don't play Hull C.
After taking 10min to dock I ran inside and couldn’t find the machine for buying cargo Finally found it and bought the copper for 200k Ran back to the ship and as I get in they said I need to leave and gave me 5s Panicked and then my ship disappears with the cargo and I’m stuck in space. Not knowing where to go to get back into the station I slowly take off my helmet and die. I respawned on another planet. I log off and turn off my computer.
This video convinced me to not reinstall. I'm gonna wait for pyro to hit the PU... And maybe a bit more after that. Maybe I'll just wait for all the Sq42 stuff to hit PU.
Just lost full cargo by bug 2 time and some pirate jerk 1 time by invite ship with out party so he got crime stat when transfer cargo area and station destroy my ship by his crime stat
Sorry even though this video has been out for a while. I got to be that guy. It would be "Sun" as OUR "Sun's" name is SOL. We are part of the SOL system not the SUN system.
I have lost so much AUEC trying to use this ship... it really lives up to its shape.
Lol

Same here. Well said.
never lost all but lost some and that's down to bugs which i reported and it's the only way they get fixed anyway.
but it's not long till it's stable again.
I really wish we could dim the UI off the ship sometime in the future. Seeing things in the dark is really difficult with the bright UI/cockpit.
The new UI looks like it will be less obstructive.
Turning the interior lights off really does help I find.

Distilled spirits? Seems of questionable legality to me........... :D

Our Star is Sol, hence Sol-ar system. So technically any star is a Sun, and thus Sun Rise does make sense and is accurate.
Thank goodness!
That's such a cool idea!
Awesome stuff!
o7
It's perfectly fine to use sun as term for other stars. We do call our sun the Sun because that is what it is. It's less of a name but more like naming it what it is for us. :D
Jolly good!
It's a rough place to be, that's for sure.
Eavry Sun is a Star and evry Star is a sun.
Good to know!
The people telling you that the Sun in our solar system is only named the Sun are idiots. It is Named Sol, per the Sol System. Stars are Sun's Thus the Stanton System has a Sun, it is just named Stanton.
:)
Like the video, big up from Algeria
Awesome, thank you :)
Never bought the Hull C so I am glad NOT to suffer, sorry Farrister!!
Haha, happy for you!!
yeah the cargo boxes show up on the C2/M2/A2
Yup!
Wow Forrester sounds pissed off!!
Oh no, not me...
When you get to the station stop by the terminal real quick and check your shop in and out real quick, will not get a warning.
actually 'The Sun' can be used to refer to any solar system's star, OUR sun is cataloged as the star Sol, stanton is the star stanton, the sun of the stanton system.
Good news :)
Perfect end. That's the star citizen experience there right for you. Haha.
yes i got the no sell bug at pyro today ... dang
Haha, I try to show the game, warts and all!
i think im just gonna stick with the c2 and wake of disaster missions... though i did lose 12mil worth of weevil eggs due to a 30k one time
Oof
Well, I know it’s not necessary, can you use other ships that load cargo externally in this manner to try out the mechanics? Such as the Hull A or Nomad? I’m just curious if other ships can load in the loading zone around the stations.
Maybe!
Great video as always, but really hoping to see Reclaimer Docking port works.
Reclaimer...
i bought one with my store credit, but was so disappointed
9/10 times spawning it on the docking port, the docking bridge didnt extend so the doors wouldnt open, but i didnt seem to have the issue of cargo loading
but trying to unload cargo, it just kept telling me to come to a full halt even though i was. ended up melting it and have the reclaimer again now which prints money
Try parking next to The pads without docking, EVA into the station and then try selling.
Oh an interesting idea!
Stanrise and Stanset sounds like songs Eminem would have done in early 00s
9:22 imagine having to play chess just to enjoy the actual game
I used a reclaimer and loaded the entire hull c with construction materials and can’t sell it. Have to now get my buddy’s to all come in cargo ships and fly down to sell over and over again
Oof :(
"Stantonrise" I'm dead 💀🤣
I thought u could only sell helium at baijini point? Thats one of my favorite route, so processed food from baijini to everus, helium is from serraphim to baijini.. thats my route on 3.20b and with outstanding profit aswell
Maybe! In 3.20 I always ran helium to Everus. I tried some other places and still no luck, that cargo is still there!!
There is a Bug report for your cargo showing up in your UI. One of the comments claimed that CIG said it was NOT a bug. I'm not sure why they would claim at Citizen Con about decluttering your UI and then do that on purpose.
lol can't explain that then!
When you docked at Everus, how big is the possibility that the ship get stolen while going to the office to sell? I mean, In a hangar we have the hangar doors to prevent someone to just run off with the ship, is there something locking the ship to the harbour during this?
It's possible, sadly, although I'm told that some of the doors can lock now, which I need to check out
any star at the center of a planetary system is the "sun" of that system! but ours is the only "solar" system because Sol is our sun.
I'm learning so much!
You know, I haven't tried!
how do you unlock the camera for cinematic views?
also whats the trade route? I'm thinking about getting the Hull C today (despite people tell me not to, since its sooo buggy and I will lose money on trading)
I tried sell my stuff on the reclaimed and I for some reason cannot sell at space stations (at the start I could but now I cant)
F4 for cinematic camera. It's very buggy, I'm afraid!
Sunrise is correct for any star. However, our sun is called Sol. We do not say Sol rise or Sol set.
Anybody who quibbles over you calling a star "sun" sounds VERY fun at parties. I refer to any star as "the sun" when I'm on a planet cause well... it's the sun.... unless there are more then they would be "the suns"
Haha
Wow
It really does have such a strange shape
It looks like a giant...
@@Farrister hehehehe
How did you get such a smooth, consistent camera rotation when you did the 12x cargo loading time lapse?
Really hoping you answer, I've been trying to figure this out for some time now.
Cheers!
I use an Xbox controller for axis control of the pan - combine that with a very steady hand, and there you go!
The name of our Star is “SOL” the Latin word for sun. Sun is a generic term & is an appropriate name for any local star in a system. So you’re all good using Sun!
That's an SC ending if i've ever seen one. 😁
Maybe you can sell at those jumlpoint stations?
"Stan-rise" and "Stan-set" 😂
I actually melted my Hull C until it’s in a more working state. I love this ship but it’s cost me a ton of auec. I’ll grab it from buy backs once it’s working.
can you walk around your ship while traveling or quantum jumping?
You can - in old patches, there was a big risk of being deposited into space and therefore ending up stuck, and I'm kinda scarred by that, so I always stay seated safely :D
@@Farrister thank you
I think should have a separate docking station at the cargo area 🤔 hope they are working on it
Hiya pal aye its a bit of a gamble at the moment as the limits for the economy are a little if not non existant. I had the same problem with Distilled Spirits, Had to wait for station to buy 600 at a time, nightmare
At least they bought them!
Nice Vid! how do you run this game so smooth on 4k? What specs you have?
Thank you :) I keep the specs that the video was made with in the video description for each :)
11:20 CIG please implement this
The unofficial feedback forum :D
i'd knock some trades out today but i'm sleepy now.
I have that effect...
Yeah, it's really not feeling great right now :(
Guy's our star has the name los
Sol?
1:47 imagine having to play chess just to undock.
The spookiest thing on display today is the Hull-C's lack of a bed, toilet and really any living space to speak of. Edit: My bad, I see it's only accessable through a ladder, when I explored the ship, I only used the elevators.
Huh? The Hull C has living quarters with beds, bathroom, and kitchen
Really? I looked all over and couldn't find them. My mistake if that's the case.@@caseytwill
Haha, it's upstairs!
Guess you didn't even try to watch any videos about the ship first. Farrister even has a detailed video of it as does Morphologis.
Every time I do mine the timer starts at 0:00 😂 and it never loads anything!!! I deffo want my money back!!
Take a Hull A and move the cargo over. :)
Might take a while!!
Mine is stuck in hangar, for now :(
After taking 10min to dock
I ran inside and couldn’t find the machine for buying cargo
Finally found it and bought the copper for 200k
Ran back to the ship and as I get in they said I need to leave and gave me 5s
Panicked and then my ship disappears with the cargo and I’m stuck in space. Not knowing where to go to get back into the station I slowly take off my helmet and die.
I respawned on another planet.
I log off and turn off my computer.
I really wish the hull c worked. I have one now but its just going to ve part of an M2 ccu chain than anything ill actually use
This video convinced me to not reinstall. I'm gonna wait for pyro to hit the PU... And maybe a bit more after that. Maybe I'll just wait for all the Sq42 stuff to hit PU.
What happens if you sell but don't unload, but instead go somewhere else and sell it again?
Money will come when it unload😂 when you sell no money yet
The Hull C is great! Just don't use it for hauling. I use it as a bunker-jumper and for deliveries. Love it. Worth $500? lmao no
Haha I would not have it pegged for bunkers!
Just lost full cargo by bug 2 time and some pirate jerk 1 time by invite ship with out party so he got crime stat when transfer cargo area and station destroy my ship by his crime stat
You are fine using Sun, our star is Named Sol so Sun is just a generic term for a star .
Jolly good!
How much do you average per trip assuming you actually get to sale your cargo?
Sorry even though this video has been out for a while. I got to be that guy. It would be "Sun" as OUR "Sun's" name is SOL. We are part of the SOL system not the SUN system.
Haha, fair enough!
Remember yall: this is a beta of a alpha, not a game. Don't expect anything to work no matter how much you give them.
Will you still be saying the same when the game release in 2046
