Update the 2mm was way too small so went in with 2.5 after, put the bolt remover in, was finger tight come out real easy. Job done took 15 mins with right tools :)

@@releasedmike definitely , seems to be very common on fiesta . must be most manufacturers tho. there's plenty of company's just doing snapped bolt removal. manufactures prob make more money fixing the problem than solving it

  • @ferncottageardentinny

Just been through exactly this. THESE ARE A TOTALLY SHIT DESIGN. Lets use a bolt that's just itching to snap to hole not one but two injectors down in the hope that the copper seal is enough to prevent blow by (possibly on a brand new whistle clean engine). More often than not they don't seal and you end up with a whole pile of crud building up around your injector and then you have a fight on your hands trying to get the injector out. I took the injectors out and cover off to give myself the best access/chance of drilling and easy outing the bolt. Luckily I got it. Make sure and have the threads/bore totally free of oil otherwise it's even easier to snap the bolt. Was a bag of nerves re torquing the bolt

Thanks very much for the video. 👏👏👏👏 I have exactly same problem, same type of screw...
I think we had a timing belt slippage, causing engine overpressures and 2 injectors popped badly snapping screws
*I have a few questions for you,*... If you wouldnt mind. Want to learn from your situation as I'm in trouble too.
    1) How did you get that problem?? Was it belt slippage too??
2 ) Did you ger any internal damage to the engine??In seals, o-rings... or other more serious stuff??
    3) Did you redo the timing belt?? Was it too far out

    • @thecoincollector1

👍👍 not sure the cause seals may of been chuffing to much pressure heat could at least there dual clamps on the golf 🥳
You can get seals o rings and bolts pretty cheap I’d replace them if you take the injector out.
Be careful not to over tighten when you reinstall👍👍
Didn’t touch the timing belt on it you should be able to hear if there’s a prob with the belt will be ticking.good luck 🍀
Got a ford with 4 broken blots and cracked clamps 😭.

Thanks for the speedy reply. 👍
A bit of a long message down there, I hope I don't bore you.
I have all the bits and parts now to go on after resettling the injectors including new screws, seals / o-rings , but I am a bit paranoid with the belt as 1 or 2 days before the injectors pop the belt casing (top part) was smoking a bit ( dodgy) .
There was a small slow leak from that injector plastic casing. Not an issue, as I monitored it for months.
Then I saw the belt casing smoking and thought a bit of that oil had gone into the belt and it was smoking oil for that reason... I never gave a sh***... Thought it wasn't an issue...then 2 days
later 👉💥💥💣 at 130 Km/h in the motorway!!! Injectors 3 and 4 decided to try to escape 🤣🤣
Now I'm kind of pretty sure the belt tensioner packed up ( as things went bad a bit slowly) , then belt went on loose and started slipping away for a day or 2 until the pressures inside blew the injectors out. Just wondering on this, didn't go in there yet.
I will start by trying to take out that screw. ... 3.5cm stuck in 😭 ... If I take that screw out 🤞🤞 I will torque it correctly not to overtight. Got my hands in the torque data in Nm.
After and IF (BIG IF) I manage to come out of this mess, I will replace the screw that holds bracket for injectors 1 and 2 too. That screw should be no good now with all the overpressure internally.
I'm a bit worried if this overpressure issue didn't damage any internal seals in the cylinders, but leave that for later.
For a long time I think about opening a TH-cam channel and now on this issue I may actually go on and do a video about it.
      Thanks again for the video.
      Cheers

Used small bit first 1mm I think just drilled tiny hole in centre to stop 2mm slipping. You want it straight and central as possible mate. Careful not to snap extractor in there nightmare to drill out . Good luck 👍👍

Top man!! I just done exactly the same thing with snapping the thing,, it was a brand new from vw bolt as well (tossas there bolts are crap) , i had no idea what i was going to do until i searched and your video came up top trumps! i went straight down screw fix and got the remover thing,, the only thing i couldn't get was a drill but but i had a old one that managed to get enough into the bolt,,,,, yours was exactly the same side, it looks common!, i removed the rocker cover on mine,, looks like i didnt need to have done,,, the only thing now is do i risk doing it again,, as the injector was blowing with a new seal ,, thats why i tightened it and it snapped, did you put same size bolt back in there as i just watched a video where the guy uses a tap and dye thing to make 8mm bolt thread instead but thats bit above me ,, did you manage to get yours running again without any injector blow? thanks very much dude AAAAAAA++++++
