Dear teacher🙏 I am from Indonesia. About 40 years ago, I was a student of English Department at the one of university in Jakarta. My lecturer suggested me to think in english in every day activities. Not only my lecturer but also many article in a journal like English Forum suggested like that. And you are the latest teacher have suggested the same way, thinking in English. I tried to think in english, but my awareness could not be forced to think in english in whole day. Only several hours, then my brain comes back to ordinary situation with thinking in Indonesian. I realize that it is natural. Thank you my teacher🙏

Yea I agree with your smart points. In addition, to activate our brain to think in English. We need to connect every english spoken statement with our imagination. The word 'image' comes from imagination. And one image is better than 1000 words in the retentive section of our brains because image is easily remembered. We need to form/link an image to every keyword in our english statements. For example, "I want to drink water and eat snacks". We can link appropriate images in our brain to these Keywords: drink, water, eat, snacks. So next time any of these is mentioned in another statements, we don't need to translate it to our dialect first or think of what it is, our brain just fetched the image we have already linked to it and there is absolutely no need of translation.
Honestly. I can relate to this. I ended up watching a lot of English TV series without subtitles and start picking up words and phrases from it. And then started practicing those phrases thinking that i am in that scenario by talking with myself ( my mom always used to ask me why do you speak with yourself :D ). I was actively forcing my brain to think directly in that language rather than translating. At first it was quite tedious. But with time this became a lot easier and now I can say I have professional fluency in English now.
Yeah, that's true. Because actually tried this on myself to improve my English. When we make an attempt to think in English, we intentionally force our brain to try hard to pick words and work to make sentences, making stronger neural connections within the brain. And this process takes time. Soon you will be able to notice a lot of change in your own fluency. Note: This process takes time, but it surely works. I wish you luck if you are practicing the same!
in brief: The main topic is about learning and thinking in a new language, specifically English. The video mentions various strategies like translating, using simple phrases at first, and gradually building up vocabulary and complexity over time. Journaling in English and practicing with different topics are also suggested as helpful exercises
Dear teacher I agree with you. When I directly start speaking in English it becomes easy for me to make a conversation. The step is that I take the reference and the subject into my mind while speaking and it works. But when I begin with translating from my mother tongue it gets very difficult to make an appropriate and fluent conversation.
Right absolutely right i also face this problem many times while interacting with someone, we think that if we speak by translating the words will be right but, it takes time to develop in our mind, because we feel very comfortable while communicating and another things that we think is, if we speak directly without translating it will go wrong, because we don't know the meaning of that particular word of English wich we wanna use, that's why, we people have to translate in our mother tongue first before saying anything that is also good method to practice without translation but that's what question arises here, we are not satisfied with this, thanks to share your opinion
I have never tried this or even thought about it before. Although thinking in our native language is most likely an instinct and try to do this will definitely need much effort, I think this is worth to try. It will train our brain to use english much more often.

I think i will again start that habit of journaling
