From my point of view if you are able to achieve a really interest in learning English, when you are happy and not stressed despite all the mistakes, you are actually on the best situation of the process of achieve your goal. Thank you very much
Translating into your mother tongue is a natural process of learning a language. It happened to me twice both in English and Japanese but after I became fluent in both languages this problem has gone. The most important thing is to listen to a bunch stuff on your target language and eventually you will be thinking in your target language. That's it!
Before you speak, thinking about your mother tongue is completely normal. Dont worry about it. You need some time to speak without thinking. This is a part of learning and be patient.
Thanks for your advice. I am trying to train my brain to think in English everyday. I always have to translate into my mother tongue when I talk in English. So, now I will stop that, try to immerse myself in English and keep practice consistently.
I absolutely agree with you. Translation delays, and it doesn’t always produce a great result. I started to study different subjects in English, which means I do not have the vocabulary in my native language. I also worked with and had conversations with native speakers. This really accelerated my English skills. Having only the English vocabulary, I had no choice but to think in English… I can still come across times when I know the vocabulary in my native language, but not in English…so I am forced to translate in those cases
I have been following you since last may, and now i joined to Hey Lady. Till now i´m still motivated and want to continue in this process. Thank you Emma
