I have only had the Mavic for a few months (for real estate, working on my FAA license) and was a little leery about starting outdoors because we have a lot of trees and live on a cliff lol. So I started it up in my office and promptly crashed into my office chair. Getting better, though. Thanks for the vid!
Make it easier by turning on tripod mode. Every thing is more under control and you are less likely to have an accident. John Sky View Aerial Videography
i dont get the "i forgot switching on the RTH mode back on" arguments. flying a drone for me is like sending $1000 away to the sky, and i ALWAYS bring a checklist beforehand, such as map reading, wind check, signal interference, take off position, and recheck every setting and video formats etc etc.
great video, i had an indoor flight yesterday and today with my new mavic pro for the first time and both of them ended with crash. I dont know why? I just see the other indoor videos and the drones automatically avoid the obstacles. and why mine doesnt do that? can you or somebody please tell me why. and now im just scared that it could happen outside too. and i must say how could i change the atti mode. thank you in advance.
Helo I have air 3..today first time i was test indoor but when i was trying for landing him auto or also at manual (with down stick) Drone was not land but after some atempt drone was land at floor...i dont know whats wrong. If anybody ask me proper solution for indoor landing so i will b greatfull to him
David Amos when you go into the dji go 4 app. As opposed to clicking on enter device hit the 3 bars at the top right corner. You will see a tab called academy. This is where you will find the simulator
You can definitely use tripod mode. But I found it at times to be a little more unresponsive than I wanted. So I just kept the mode set to normal flight :)
Nice video. I have 1 question for my mavic pro. When I flying indor in halls with no gps, I have DVP (Downward Vision Positioning) and that is cool. Problem is that max alt in that scenario is 5m. Once, I took of from second floor which is inside the hall and fly over middle of hall at alt of 7m. Then the Mavic decended 2m to achieve that 5m max alt so I wasnt able to bring it back, because I was 2m above it. At the end I landed the mavic at the middle of hall, 7m bellow the take of point. Is there an option to turn of that max alt of 5m when flying indor without gps?
I will get my Mavic in near future but I want to ask you a question. You said that you can shoot a footage from outside to inside. I live in a tall condo building, 3rd floor. If I perform the flight from my room to outside can Mavic lose control due to height's difference and how can I avoid this? Thanks in advance!
So did you find a way to fly indoors without crashing into the ceiling? I have the same fear as you can you post what settings you use for indoor flight? Thanks Paul.
I think is really about the particular situation and how tight the indoor space it is, in certain situation can help in other can complicate, in general indoor flying could be the only situation in which prop guards makes sense. Compliments for the channel in any case!
Why can't you just find altitude mode and shut off the bottom sensors all small drones have altitude mode ONLY... The bottom sensors are very problematic if you go over a couch or any different type of obstacle it could make your drone drift when you're in altitude mode only that will not happen The question is can you shut the sensors off on the bottom and just use altitude mode,?
You can turn off the downward sensors in the mavic, however the mavic does not have Attitude mode, only sports mode. Unfortunately, they are not the same.
Hey, Obstacle avoidance should be OFF when flying indoors, not on! Flying indoors means flying in tight quarters and you will never get the results your wanting if the obstacle avoidance sensors are going off all the time and stopping your drone. Talk about a lesson in frustration. To have success Flying indoors, buy Prop Guards so you just bounce off walls if you get too close, and turn off the Obstacle avoidance. Truthfully I never fly with Obstacle avoidance on unless my Mavic is so far away I can't tell if it's too close to an Obstacle.
RTH should be disabled. my brother tried to fly indoors and hit RTH 60 metres when his ceiling is 7 metres. Yes it went straight up and smashed into the ceiling. luckily he only suffered a damaged propeller. It is not worth flying indoors under any circumstances. You will crash it eventually and may not be as lucky as my brother.
i would NOT recommend turning off RTH. The risk of forgetting to turn it back on the next time you go out is real and the potential to lose the drone is possible.
Thank you for watching! Please remember to turn on post notifications! :)

Good tips. Thanks. Also recommend prop guards!

Sky View Aerial Videography | yep. I even use tripod mode for the exterior shots as well.

Could you auto track yourself and turn on crash avoidance and have it follow you while you give a tour for example?
Can you tell me how to setup my Mavic 2 Pro to fly through a Carwash of course it will not be running. Thank you.
The beginning of the video is fantastic!

The first five seconds was all I needed.
bro tq....im still love mvc pro and mvc mini old.....
Hey man, nice video, I'm thinking of getting a Mavic 2 Zoom, what is your opinion on that one for interior filming? thank you
I have a DJ I Mavic 2 pro. I’d like to try to take a 360 VR inside. Have you had any experience doing this?
Excellent Presentation
Flying LOS and not looking at the screen is your advice? I'm so confused. I would think looking at the screen and flying with a spotter is much better

You mentioned a flight sim for the drone, where can I find this please?
David Amos when you go into the dji go 4 app. As opposed to clicking on enter device hit the 3 bars at the top right corner. You will see a tab called academy. This is where you will find the simulator
Will it work auto tracking my face
Love the mavic. Use it for indoor a lot with Great results
Thank you! :)
Did I miss it? Why not use tripod mode indoors to dull the control inputs?
You can definitely use tripod mode. But I found it at times to be a little more unresponsive than I wanted. So I just kept the mode set to normal flight :)
use tripod mode!
What settings do you use to fly indoors what is the best way to avoid crashing into the ceiling?
@Go Guerilla Foto Okay I should have been more specific in my request, but in future don't be so negative.
Watch the fuckin video asshole.

bcouse yr home block gps..so fly out litle bit is came gps

Nope! The Mavic will perform just fine! :)
Oh, thank you! By the way I mean from inside to outside. ☺
Would have been great for NFZ beginners if you have provided a step by step practical demonstration ☹️
I am still scared for GPS/compas errors that causes crashes indoors..
So did you find a way to fly indoors without crashing into the ceiling? I have the same fear as you can you post what settings you use for indoor flight? Thanks Paul.
A lot of professionals stated that they like turning sensors off indoors because it makes it easier to fly. Interesting that you say the opposite
Great
You disable OBSTICLE AVOIDANCE!! Why would you enable it?
I agree, OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE is better off indoors, it will get crazy when a lot of objects are close by, it will make the Mavic unflyable!
I explained why.

i got a drone for christmas and i fly it as soon as it fully charges, i love them so much
Great man! Thanks!
Thank you
Prop guards!!!

Make sure you buy rechargeable batteries to the smart way without wasteing money guys

I have kept it on without any issues. It depends on the space you are in. In many scenarios, it can save you.
It would have been nice if you woulda flew your drone in doors to show us. But hey

That's why he said to disable it.
I fly indoors often with prop guards without a single crash. The Mavic can do some great indoor video with the right lighting.
hi it only RTH when the battery is low right ? or if u press the RTH.
He probably forgot to change return to home when I flew from outdoors to indoors in the beginning of the video
i would NOT recommend turning off RTH. The risk of forgetting to turn it back on the next time you go out is real and the potential to lose the drone is possible.
You should always turn it off when flying indoors. That is why you perform pre-flight checks.
Possibly....or just don’t leave turning it back on, to memory.!
