    As an old guy getting into new tech toys, this was a great intro. It doesn't appear to be as daunting as I thought it might be. Thanks for this.

    Just an FYI... DJI offers a free flight simulator that's awesome to practice flying if you're nervous to use your expensive new drone. The software pairs with any DJI controller or you can use the keyboard on your computer. I don't own a Mavik yet, but I've been able to become familiar with the controls and procedures using the simulator. 😁

    I think obstacle sensors would be more useful in the back or sides. We can see what's in front of us because there's a camera but when you're getting those panning or sweeping shots when you're flying sideways, you can't see what's in the direction you're flying.

    • @boogelino
      @boogelino 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's for "returning home" feature. Get a Phantom 4 Pro instead, it has sensors at the back and at both sides. But it's too damn huge. :-)

    Great video super helpful for a first time DJI drone owner. And I think the host did awesome he was easy to understand, has a great voice and was super comfortable in front of the camera. Do you guys really want some nervous nerdy engineer with bad teeth, a receding hairline that stutters every other word explaining things? Not me, keep the engineers at the office working on the techy stuff and leave the acting to the professionals like this guy. A+ for this video from me.

    Best adapter I've seen so far. Others don't have the height clearance for easy reach to the controller's sticks. I own a DJI Phantom 3 and use the iPad Mini 4 with a DJI adapter, not the perfect adapter by DJI. DJI needs to refine, the wobble effect of their adapter. My opinion is that the MAVMOUNT is a 100 percent improvement, although I don't have one of these. I'm ordering a DJI Mavic pro Platinum and my intention is to get a MAVMOUNT for my iPad Mini 4. iPhone's screen is too small for my liking. I need to see all the feed on the screen. Your video missed to show in detail as to how the Sun Hood fits on the iPad.

    @DJI Tutotials - This video link should be in the printed manual or a big sheet in the box. view this video! The thing with drone tech nowadays is that it has gotten too mainstream too fast. The hobbyists who come from RC flying background can appreciate safety and flight envelopes. Then there are the newbies and photography-based people who dont really appreciate what tech can do or cant do, or basic 'best practices' for RC flying.

    In Compass Calibration Why does the mavic appear horizontally to me in the second step of the calibration. You teach how to point the camera to the ground in the video, but DJIgo4 says to rotate 360 degrees to the sides.

  • @fj1100mark

    Do you need to calibrate the compass before every flight?

    • @TMSasin
      @TMSasin 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should, and to be precise, you must if you changed locations. If you do not calibrate, you may be flying without proper control and may lose your drone if things get hairy .... like loosing the connection signal to your Remote.
      Think of it as a navigator ... if it does NOT KNOW where HOME is, how will it be able to return there ???

    Ah.. ok.. so why didn't he go through all the basic settings that are a must. To my knowledge the flight manual doesn't go over these.. the most important being the return to home altitude.
    I'm seeing several videos that all say the same thing... when people have flown for the first time, they have crashed because the return to home altitude wasn't set high enough... most recommend 400ft.
    Odd that he was more interested in smiling for the camera than actually providing useful information. This seemed like a rather minimalist "mandated" video.
