I love how Recieve You is so goddamn good! It helps that the boss fight associated with it, Majima and Saejima, is one of the BEST in Yakuza LaD.

I've heard the Chrono Cross song multiple times recently. Just played it twice. I'm not surprised that Ys I&II is on here. It's the 1st RPG I remember having heavy metal music
The regular and boss battle music in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for the snes were pretty hard-rock/heavy inspired (with the logical limitations of the system not being able to fully emulate the sound of real instruments, obviously). And there's also that boss battle song in Blue Dragon in which Bruce Dickinson guest starred.
For as many Atlus titles as there are on here, I'm surprised not a single one came from Etrian Odyssey. "End of the Raging Waves" is pure unadulterated jam.
Very nice. I know that this is specific to japanese games, but Battle Chasers Nightwar is a great turn based game that also has outstanding music. If you havent played it I highly recommend it.
What I love about FF9s "Battle 2" is how it actually makes you feel like you're in danger during the fight. Most boss themes go for the "epic badass" route. FF9 makes you go ".... Oh fuck....."
Man, the first theme on here is one of my favorites. I wonder if I'll actually like all the other ones more.
Nice to see alot of Ys games on this but I feel most of the earlier Ys games are not as much JRPGs. Also would like to mention some games not on the list:
-"The world ends with you" boss them Panthera Cantus - Give Me All Your Love.
- Many of the Atelier games have amazing music and a couple I feel worth mentioning: Mana Khemia 2- Verethraghna & Vanishing Mirage, Atelier Lydie&Suelle- Gemini Wing etc. Lots lol.
-Blue Reflection - Toshitake -Hayabusa
- Arknights Talulah boss - Towerfierce (not really JRPG but want to mention it)

Before back in the day i did not give much thought or give any credit to FF8 battle theme, but lately these yrs the more i listen to it, i just think it's friggin awesome. I mean i literally listen to it in loops all the time lol. Oh and FF2 battle theme has always been epic, never get tired of listening to that one.
8 has a sneaky good soundtrack. And I'm with you on FF2.

For me #1 boss theme is from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Its so epic.
Moebius boss theme is a top ten banger for me.

Definitely the dungeon one. There's such a variety in feelings for many tracks, and they sometimes really fit the area well, like the Towering Coral Forest from YSVIII or pretty much anything from Xenoblade.

Quite a good list there! However I do miss some like the Rude/Reno boss theme from FF7 Remake that is THE best boss theme ever made in my opinion and some more Trails of boss themes adwell. Trails of Reveree has the best OST and boss themes of all Trails of games I think.
The remake is no longer a JRPG, but an ARPG for the same reason that Nier isn't on this list.

Where the heck is "Fight with Seymour" from Final Fantasy X. one of the most catchiest boss themes easily a banger. It belongs right up there standing with the best of them and deserves to be in any top battle theme list.
I love how it flows between epic, fun, and hinting at the slight desperation of needing to win. At least, that's how I interpreted it.
Great music! A shame that "Daughter of the Dark God" from Octopath Traveler is not in the list. For me, it's an easy top 3.

Of course we have Legend of Mana in the list. Personally I'd fill the top spots with Legend of Mana, that game's boss themes are nearly perfection itself, but great list

Bro, I didn't even really like Nier: Automata that much, and never played OG/Replicant (yet), but the soundtracks for both of them are fire, and Keiichi Okabe might be my favorite thing about those games.
Azure arbitrator is a final boss theme, dude. Did ya read the description?
My emotions watching this::
- 50: Oh wow, the Boss Theme from my favorite video game! Sure it's dead last on here, but I love how the video starts with it and I'm just happy it's here! Hopefully the SMT4 theme makes it. I think it's the best.
- 49-33: WTF??!! None of these are even close to FF9's theme! And where's the SMT4 theme?!!
- 32: Okay, this is actually fucking good! I definitely didn't notice and appreciate this song when I rushed through FFX.
- 31-17: Some highs and lows, but good overall. Still, nothing beats the FF9 theme or the SMT4 theme which hasn't been played yet.
- 16: Gothic drip music. Good stuff!
- 15-9: Nice tunes, but FF9 beats them all.
- 8: DING DING DING. The winner here!
- 7-1: These are strong contenders here for the best boss battle music.
A good list overall. I HOPE this comes off as just playing around and not actually complaining. Sometimes my playful manner doesn't translate well through text. Sure, I would've placed the FF9 and SMT4 themes in the top 10, but I'm glad they made it on the list. The only two things I'd add are: (1) No Golden Sun music despite Motoi Sakuraba's songs getting on here AND tons of progressive rock. I was reminded of Golden Sun on too many occasions here, and (2) The "Gym Leader Battle" and "Last Battle" (Gary) themes from Pokémon Red & Blue. The beginning of that last song takes the breath out of you when you're confronted with Gary for one last time.
I like your channel, by the way. I always look for JRPGs that I haven't discovered yet and I use channels like yours to find some. Now I've gotta look up Eternal Poison. :)

Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, last fight against Bowser is pretty good. Feel like the Mario & Luigi series gets underappreciated.

You could easily fill this list with multiple selections from Yakuza: Like a Dragon but if you're going to pick one, Receive (and Turn) You is great.

Dissapointed list at least for me, Luca Blight theme, FF tactic boss battle, FF type 0 boss battle, Wild arms 2 Lord Blazer, ToA Meaning of birth and many more that i personally think are way better than these list
