- First thing first, this is completely based on my opinion and it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to decide which songs should be in what order. If I could, I'd have most of these songs in the top 10 haha.. Try not to mind the ranking too much

If you do start playing them, start with Nocturne, SMT IV, or Persona 3. Do *not* play Devil Survivor or Strange Journey first. They will do nothing but frustrate you.

@@yaboi2500 This may have been a weird one to start with, but my first SMT game was actually... TMS#FE. After that I played Persona 1, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and am currently playing Persona 3 FES. Soon, I plan to play Devil Survivor, SMT IV, Devil Summoner 1, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 5 Royal, DDS 1, Catherine: Full Body, and SMT if... Maybe I'll give Nocturne a try when the HD release comes on Switch, but that can wait for now.
@@purplespectre I suggest playing Catherine Classic rather than Full Body, personally. The new scenes screw with the story in nasty ways. It's just too convoluted, whereas the original had a perfect balance and pacing. IMO The original game is fantastic as-is and Full Body is a case of one step forward, two steps back.

After playing these songs in the car with my friends they decided to branch out of Persona and give SMT games a try. I felt so much pride after hearing they really liked SMT IV and Nocturne.

Man Atlus makes some fantastic games
Recently i've been replaying Soul Hackers and man... that game embodies the concept of the 90s cyberpunk movement. The music is quite fitting for the setting and I feel obliged to say this top 100, regardless of how many amazing tracks are featured, is missing a good amount of Soul Hackers love. 2D Field, Algon NS Building, Amami Airport, Naomi battle theme and some others could easily be here imo. Still, I love this top100 so much!
Listening to Dream of a Butterfly brought back so many childhood memories. And the rest was simply adding unto the cake. Sankyu for the compilation

I was immediately happy to see Battle 2 from Strange Journey right on the start of this list. I didn't start playing it until the recent remake of it, but it's definitely my favorite song in the game so far.
It was put last when it's actually the very best.

You know at first I questioned putting the YHVH battle at the 1st spot, but after thinking it over I respect the decision even though I don't agree with it. It really nails that gargantuan finale feeling (also it has a bit of the normal battle theme which is great).
