    Great video! Very informative, I like you did the job with the car up on jack stands on driveway, and not in a mechanics garage with lift. More real life. Thank you!

    did you have to take off the intake manifold or did you do that for some other reason?

    • @JM-AUTO
      @JM-AUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi, if the tranny is coming out by the top of the engine, then the intake manifold has to come out.

    I have transmission problem on my 2012 Honda Accord 4 Cylinder. In 2016, the transmission had a leak or something that drained the fluid. I added new fluid but after a month or so, the car wouldn't move past 20 mph. It had around 65K miles at the time, so the warranty expired. So I took it to a local mechanic shop. At first, they said some kind of solenoid went out, so it will be $250 for the part and $300 for the labor. But after 2 days, I went back and they said the transmission needs to be rebuilt. They quoted me $2400 for everything. I think I ended up paying $2200. They gave me 10K miles warranty. After about 30K miles, I noticed the car would shake when I'm stopped at the light. When I move it to neutral, or parking the car stops shaking. I DIY most of the simple maintenance. Fearing that I have to pay that much again, I didn't take the car to the mechanic. I showed it to a mobile mechanic and he told me that it was the torque converter and watching some youtube videos, I figured as well that it's the torque converter. The shaking got worse over time. Now the car is at 152K milage and the shaking is worse than ever. Now, I can feel the gear slipping, and there are all of a sudden forward motions when the gears shift. I'm thinking the transmission might totally die on me soon. So I want to change the transmission. I see some on eBay for around $400 bucks and saw some on the local junkyard websites for about similar price. I can't replace it myself because I don't have those transmission lifting tools, also, the bolts look complicated. My question to you is: How much do you think is a fair price to pay the mechanic for the replacement? Also, do you think any 4 cylinders 2008-2012 honda accord transmission will fit or is there a different variant?

      sorry to hear that, now good question, if they remove the tranny from beneath the car it is for sure is going to cost you more money because it is much more work. now removing it from the top still a lot of work but much less compare from beneath, it shoul be about $600 or 700 and any 2008 2012 tranny for the 2.4l will fit the car good lack and stay bless you and your family.

    Can this work on a 2008 manual v6 accord

    • @JM-AUTO
      @JM-AUTO  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no it does not because v6 is a bigger engine n the reduces the space, if you are going to replace the clutch then you just unbolt the transmission from the engine and pull the transmission over the control arm and that gives you space to replace the clutch without removing the subframe, just got it support tha tranny with some thing.

      to be honest I don't know I have not tried this one but a clue: if you see it you can calculate the space between the engine n the frame of the car including the space that tranny uses when it is pulled out of the engine. sorry for not having a direct answer.
