    You will never see the change coming from it being the greatest tool to get anything you can imagine done, to needing it to get through the most basic tasks. Once you're trapped in the cycle, you'll spend a lot of time thinking about breaking it but only when you're on it, because as soon as that crash hits - you'll be dying to start it all over again... And thats what life becomes.

    I feel like I’m in a similar boat. Currently in a super difficult nursing program for multiple years now. ADDERALL has been the boost I needed to maintain an awesome GPA but it definitely comes at a cost in the long run. I totally felt when you said that you balance it out with other stuff and eventually it turns into a fun drug rather than a tool. That line gets blurry after a while but I think after hearing this gave me the encouragement to take a step back from going off the rails completely. Its sucks because when you are on it you feel so on point with everything but eventually it takes its tool. I appreciate the insight my man

    I went to rehab because the withdrawal effects were so bad, I felt like a waste of space.. I wasn’t going to kill my self but I certainly felt like I was worthless without my pills. I got made fun of in rehab because I wasn’t addicted to the hard shit but my addiction was very real to me.
    For anyone reading this, please reach out to someone you trust for support. You don’t have to do this on your own. I would recommend getting a therapist or becoming a part of Narcotics anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous.
    Since quitting, I’ve become more consistent. I’m more hopeful of the future without wondering where my next fix is coming from. My voice is back to normal (my vocal cords were so dry & I’m a singer). I’m 4 months clean today 🎉

      Can you share what helped you with withdrawal please. I’m struggling

    • @elizabethfontenot8882
      @elizabethfontenot8882 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RN-of2fq It was really hard for me. I actually went to treatment because when I went through withdrawals I contemplated suicide. It lasted 3 days for the heavy depression to wear off. After that I continued getting pangs for the drug at least 2-3 times a day. If you don’t go to treatment, I recommend going through the withdrawals around people you trust. Take a week or two off of work and try to get a Dr note. Most of all understand that it isn’t your fault that you’re not putting out your best work during the detox period. Your body is fighting hard to get you balanced again, it’s just the process. You may miss deadlines, you may be sad or irritable for a few weeks but this is normal. I still had lingering depression for months after I quit.
      Exercise, vitamins, sunlight and conversation were what helped me the most. Also knowing that you don’t have to be ashamed.

    Glad you were able to kick it. I’ve been off and on with fighting it for over a year, but I’ve finally hit a marker in time that has made me proud of myself, I’m at 3 weeks. I was only taking them typical Thursday-Sunday ( I travel for work and am only home on those days typically), often staying up nonstop from Thursday to Saturday with no sleep until Sunday so I could be a bit fresher for the airport and travel on Monday ( delusional, I know). I was taking between 200-280 mg a day

    im a ADHD guy and im getting my first prescription of ritalin in about 2 weeks but i really wanna take it as prescribed but how do i manage so i wouldn't build up too much tolerance?

    • @MattSpear99
      @MattSpear99  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I appreciate that bro. I never took Ritalin but I’m assuming that it’s similar to Adderall so you’ll naturally build a tolerance for it over time. I would honestly say don’t take it because from my experience it’s hard to not become dependent on these types of drugs. BUT I’m not a doctor lol and you know yourself best so if you do end up taking it just try to be self aware of how you feel on it

      I highly suggest taking them if your ADHD is severe enough. Everyone is different! The individual in this video went into this wanting to abuse the drug.
      I was addicted to substances for the longest time. I used it to self medicate. The second I got on Vyvance - I became sober.
      I am not functional without adhd meds. I NEVER was though. Not for 25 years unmedicated.
      They changed my life.
      Stimulants make me sleep. They calm my brain. It’s because I NEED them. I am not dependent on them, I went 24 years unmedicated which was an extremely uncomfortable experience.
      Naturally I am not functioning. The pills level me out and make me sleep. I no longer have insomnia.
      So be careful where you get your information from. Everyone is extremely different. I respect my meds enough to never abuse them.

      @sarahcommand5830 ปีที่แล้ว

      With that being said, super sorry you went through addiction. I relate to that hard. Everyone is SO different and addarel can be extremely addicting. That’s why I chose not to go on it. Thanks for sharing your story 🙌

    15 mg as a starting dose?! WTF maybe times have changed. I started off at 5 mg and I’m still on 5 mg! I don’t really take it and have about 200 pills in my room because it’s summer and I really have no reason to take it. Once college classes start I’m going off 3 times a week.

    I loved your video, I could relate to almost everything you said. I had a huge Adderall problem years ago. I got a prescription and I had no control I loved it so much. Dude I got my doctor to give me 90 20 milligram pills a month to be take three times a day. Lots of times I would be all out in about two weeks. Then I would have to call out of work I would crash so bad. Often I would be awake 3 or 4 days in a row total sleepless nights. So I would take more the next day because I had been up all night. I started losing my mind and messing up at work really bad because I had not slept in days. This went on for a few months until finally I got demoted at work and I realized I had to stop because my life was a mess from Adderall abuse. When I was without I would be In bed for days. Long story Short years later I wanted to trY it again . Well I ended up being a crystal methamphetamine addict very honestly the 2 drugs feel about the same to me. Up until this year I was 4 years clean. Now I use in control somehow, I mean my life is going well work is going well I sleep every night and eat healthy so I'm using this drug that's probably going to kill me. I really should stop before things get bad and I lose control or health problems come about.

    What was it like when you only took it 3 times a week? Would you say you were addicted to it then? Do you think your relationship with it would have been healthier if you’d only taken it 3 days a week?

    • @MattSpear99
      @MattSpear99  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wasn't as addicted when I wasn't taking it everyday. Since I would take more than what I was supposed to I was abusing it which led to me taking it everyday and relying on it completely. For me personally I'm better off not taking it, but I know there are people out there who truly need it and taking it just 3 days a week wont help someone who actually needs it.

    There should be a better way of testing + diagnosing adhd, add, before throwing such an addictive substance at it! It's way to easy to just say "oh yea, I can't focus."
