Like all drugs, you’ll never “stop” it. All one can do is educate about the dangers.

I was a speed freak for nearly 30 years. Been clean for 15 years. I did something weird a few months ago. I was giving my cat medication by squirting the medicine into his mouth with a syringe ( minus the needle ) and I would clean it out with water but on this occasion I sucked the water into the syringe and started flicking out the air , pretending I was about to shoot up. Put it to my arm and pretended to inject it, I closed my eyes and my heart started to pound and for that moment I was high. After 15 years it's still there. But I'm 60 now and I know if I ever went down that road again, I'd be dead. But that will never happen . I am too strong and my life is too good now. I appreciate life so much because I really shouldn't be here. Every year on my birthday I am so grateful to put another number to my life. Every year is a bonus

Don’t give in, try not to reminisce. Instead remember what you lost during that time. We only get lucky so many times before we aren’t. - as an ex user, hearing him talk about it doesn’t make me feel like it should. Instead I remembered how I liked the feeling and other things about it. So I’m literally going to that OnE day. The day I let it go and try to remember what I was feeling that day. I hated not being able to stop, I hated the other addicts and I hated all the time I lost. I hated that I was an addict.

glenncampbell3145 I used to know someone who did meth for 14yrs. and coke for 25yrs. She ended up homeless twice, and now she's 45, 3yrs. into her battle with Lung Cancer(30yrs of chain smoking ciggies & weed). Even though she's been clean for 3yrs now, There's a 95% chance that she won't live to see 2024. I tried to be her friend, but I could tell the drugs had a permanent effect on her critical thinking, reasoning, logic & cognitive abilities. A lot of her decision making didn't make much sense. And she still flew into fits of rage. There was always an angry undertone with her. She was always extremely paranoid too. Shs trusted no one!! I tried to be her friend, but after a few months, I couldn't take her neurosis & manipulation anymore, even though she has been in recovery for 3yrs. I had to cut her out of my life. She was toxic and borderline crazy even after What's really sad is how many times she's hit rock bottom but she still persisted on chasing that high regaedless how low in her life she fell. She only quit when She lost custody of her 5y/o son(struck him in the head with an iPad in a fit of rage), was charged with a restraining order, and the family courts got involved. Now that she has less than a yr to live, I hope that she finds some peace of mind in her last months alive. Truly sad.

My car rolled 6 times and I’m very lucky to be alive right now. Is he trying to quit? How long had he tried. I got on Fentanyl for a year and a half straight during Covid. Spending over $600 every week. I pushed my GF to her LIMIT. I'm so lucky she stuck it out. I got off dope this past January. I'm doing great and we had such a great year. I just smoke weed and do mushrooms now. I even quit drinking which I never thought would happen.
I just had ENOUGH. Drugs had taken so much from me throughout my 33 years on earth. I finally got tired of it.
Also full disclosure I had like 5 relapses this year along the way. But they were isolated events. I bought a small bag of dope, got high and threw up my guts for 24hrs and just didn't get more when I ran out. Relapses happen. It's how you react to them. I just examined what causes the relapse and moved on with my life. Get back to working out and normal life and not let the relapse define you and make a big deal of it.

i’m 16 years old, and i lost my dad of an overdose in May of last year. my father was an amazing one and such a great guy to everyone. it wasn’t until i was about 12 years old when he started using. i never hated him, even though we couldn’t be as close as we used to i still would be up worrying about him many nights. i prayed and prayed that he would get better. my dad went through so much when battling with addiction, and he got clean not too long before we lost him. he relapsed and we had to say goodbye. i’m watching this video to try to understand where he was coming from and i feel so guilty in ways because i know he felt guilty for what he did, but i never wanted that at all. I wanted him to find himself again and i wanted to not worry about where he was sleeping at night. but i’m here a year later ready to understand him even more than i do now. if anyone else is struggling with a similar situation, i promise you’re not alone. much love and prayers to anyone out there who’s lost someone to addiction or anyone who is dealing with addiction themself. ❤

My lover and I were together 26 years. During primarily the last year he became "demonic" as you put it. He was a drug and alcoholism counselor so I didn't suspect drugs. I assumed it had something to do with his job which had problems because of budget cuts. We broke up because he had become emotionally abusive. About a year after leaving someone overdosed and died in our (now his) house. A few months later he was arrested for trafficking and a few more months and he committed suicide. I found out he had been using meth nearly 5 years before we broke up. I just thought I was getting old and couldn't keep up. Really. He went from being one of the most well respected drug, alcohol and HIV treatment facilitators in Cincinnati to laying dead on our back patio because he was tempted by that shit. I lost everything in the process having to start completely over at 59. His family was basically ruined.

@mandydavis959 I read up on it after his suicide. I had done meth probably about a half dozen times during the 80s before we met. I noticed it was something you definitely didn't want to do more than once every 6 months or so and just decided to stay away from. According to what I read he probably had developed meth psychosis by then. At that point there wasn't much of an opportunity to get through to him. Powerful shit.

(two are dead. one from suicide and the other from od on heroin). when on meth you hang with people who do meth and you don't trust each other. you will steal from each other and other people. I got off it by going for a walk into a nature reserve, smashing my pipes on the concrete, and then took a hammer to them. I buried the pieces of the pipes and promised myself "NEVER AGAIN!!". been sober for 6 years. I quit smoking ciggies and weed the same day. all cold turkey!

It’s been 2 days and he has not touched a thing. He is going though the detox phase. Has the sweats and is shaky. He doesn’t want to eat and wants to be left alone. My mom in her fear of seeing him this way offered him weed. He refused. He says he doesn’t want to touch a thing. We are suffering with him and are in the process of finding him a rehab center. Did you detox on your own?

My father would say to me, “You control it, don’t let it control you”. It wasn’t until after years of meth use that I understood what those words meant and how vital that advice is if your going to make it through the meth adventure. I also now realise that in some way, I took that advice and acted that advice without knowing I was doing so. After 20 yrs of adventure i walked away, with me I took some negatives but surprisingly some positives as well. I actually stopped because it was boring me. 🥱😴. We all have stories and we all handle and use drugs in different ways. Blessed are the ones that finally see life as better without meth, and hope and 🙏🏼’s for many more, that they too will be blessed with that enlightenment one day soon.

So did you control it? I've never done any drug except weed. But I want to to fight this fatigue. It's guys' stories like the guy in the video above that help me stay away from trying meth/coke. Guy in video you won't be able to use meth recreationally. He strongly suggested that it WILL become a daily addiction. I wonder how true that is. I wonder if there's a good percentage of people who can keep it at bay, and only do it on weekends. I mean, what dictates that a drug MUST make you a daily addict? I'm daily with drink. So I get it. But does that mean I'd be daily meth addict? Probably. I guess.

    • @chrisb3248
      @chrisb3248 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@Frip36 I guess you could say that I did control it, in regards to dose and frequency of use. There are people who have less will power then others but even the strongest can fall into daily use and more sometimes. Meth nowadays is not the meth of the past and I couldn’t recommend any use of the drugs out there now. I used to put meth and alcohol on the same level as to the harm it causes society and the addict, but the stuff that is out there now is way worse than alcohol. If you drink everyday then I would strongly suspect you would very quickly be taken by the addiction . The best advice I can give you is not to bother with even trying it, there are too many different reactions and that path you definitely don’t want to be on. Alcohol every day is not much better but its a different path and well worthwhile working on giving your body a rest from that as well. I wish you all the best with your future,.

Bro I'm proud of you, because meth detox is horrible, I can't even think clearly, depression, losing touch of reality all the time

When I took it my depression was gone. I was suicidal before I even did meth and then when I came down it was 10 to a hundred times more depression if not a hundred to a thousand times more depressing but after about eight months of being clean after 30 years of use it started getting easier and easier everyday I'm still clean it's been over 2 years I see your post was from 3 months ago I hope you're still clean to God bless.

Are you clear headed enough to do the burpees exercise? Just start with 3 or 1
And slowly work your way up, look up iron wolf on TH-cam, just try it don’t gotta kill it

Sad but true. Know a few friends on it and this video is right on target. You watch it and your stomach gets unsettled and uncomfortable. Life is so difficult to begin with, add METH to the equation and life becomes HELL on Earth.
