My sister never read books until I gave her Twilight. Wasn't really my type of book but I had an idea she'd like it. She fell in love and started reading, and read other books, which she'd never wanted to do. I do agree theres value in books that can do that for people.
Lady Rice, always so elegant, you have to love her. I believe she is one of the most intelligent, respectful authors out there. She speaks from the heart and is honest, and she is right twilight is a series for teenagers, and it is beautiful in its own way. The typical scenario that a lot of women dream of, the older dangerous man who comes along and sweeps us off our feet into the unknown. It's charming, and I can see a lot of teenage girls falling in love with that idea. :)
She's trying not to burst out laughing throughout this entire video. By saying that it's competent and easy to read, I'm pretty sure that she's saying that it is for idiots and children. She herself said that she wasn't a fan. But Anne is just trying to be nice, bless her heart.
its not for children, when i was 12 i read herman hesse, i could never ruin my brain by reading twilight, not even for fun, the way meyer portraits the surroundings is terrible, she has a very lack of knowlege, not only for vampires but education in general, anne rice talks, with well understanding about bellini, botticelli and even religion while meyer talks about virginity and stupid teens
Anne Rice is right, Twilight is stupid and I thought the same thing myself: if I were an immortal, would I choose to remain in highschool? Hell no. The world is too vast for that, being a vampire changes your very soul...and it's not only the fact that Twilight and Vampire Diaries characters choose highschool. It's the fact that they still behave like little kids after 100 years, and that's illogical. If people change so much from 15 to 21, can you imagine the changes in more than a century, in 1000 years? Twilight and the Vampire Diaries seem to ignore this fact, they don't create real vampires nor real people, but sexy unreal idols for horny teenagers. Anne Rice is an extraordinary writer and a legend, and she has created myth. She deserves the admiration she has and she has earned the right to criticize new comers.
its ok to create idols, i fall in love with lestat, louie, armand, marius, they are fictional idols but people, they have flaws and have grown with the centuries, besides removing the guillt, the sorrow of talking a life for you to continue living is stupid, if you get rid of that human aspect you end up with a fake kind of immortal being, immature and stupid, souch as edward, who only existense is to bash on the childish aspects of being a vampire, is the eternal existense, the years of solitude among the living, the sacrifice you make when turning into a monster
Geraldine Vherjhanm you can still enjoy them, i normally read about vampires (Anne rice ones) and avoid the meyer fan fiction about the hot guy (if you consider that hot) and the selfish, most anoying teen i ever saw, btw i read a little the books and she clearly tried to fake anne rices style but her poor knowlege about history, writing and art make the book a poorly written mimic of what anne rice create
Now Anne Rice is an author worth admiring. Even though Smeyer is rude, shallow, and not very good at writing, Rice tries to put that damned woman's series (not saga) in a positive light. That takes a lot of chutzpah. Love you Anne! (PS, Interview with a Vampire was one of the first vampire books I ever read, and I think it's awesome. Can't wait to read Lestat! :) )
I wondered the exact same thing.. Why, out of all the things a vampire could do in the world would they go to high school year after year when for most of us those were the worst time in our lives!?
+Draconis Aeternam Angeli Edward did say in the book "the younger we start out in a place, the longer we can stay", since they can't stay in one place too long because otherwise people would realise that they weren't aging. I think, with how the characters were all portrayed, that it made some decent amount of sense for them to keep going to high school. It seems like I'm the only one here who read that part, or maybe the only one who read the whole book, haha.
Dracapella de Lioncourt lmfao I know right? Like for sure Stephanie if I was immortal the first thing i would do is go to fucking high school.. Sorry I think not. High school was awful lol. Maybe Edward was glutton for punishment
@@roselynneford9158 I've read the whole Twilight series and the new book Midnight Sun from Edward's perspective. They hate high school and never interact with the humans anyway or go into town. So it seems to me like they could just make a cover story about being homeschooled.
@@breezy3392 nonsense. They are vampires! Why would they care for such trivial matters such as school lolol Twilight is for kids and teens not grown people😂
I used to like Twilight back when I was 11 or 12 (my cousin had introduced me to the books AND the movies)...then I found out about the Vampire Chronicles and I just forgot about Stephanie Mayer: the Vampire Chronicles books were just what I needed! Now I'm nearly 17 AND EACH YEAR MY LOVE FOR ANNE RICE AND HER WONDERFUL WORKS GROWS, especially now that I'm able to read them in their original language, which I didn't understand until about two or three years ago (I'm Italian). I JUST WANTED TO SAY A HUGE THANK YOU TO ANNE RICE AND THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES FOR HAVING HAD SUCH A BIG INFLUENCE ON MY LIFE!
This is Anne Rice being very diplomatic in saying, "The way Stephanie Meyer envisions vampires is utterly ridiculous, but she sold a metric shit-ton of books, so props for that."
It's nice to see a woman who doesn't bash other women's work. In fact, now that I think of it, I don't remember ever hearing a woman writer compliment another, this is refreshing.
I find her prose to be thick and heady like a fine, red wine, it's soft and sultry like velvet. I have never experienced this with anything else I've read and I believe she is a literary genius.
Twilights is marketed to young girls. What do young girls want? A sexy hero who makes them feel like a princess. The Vampire Chronicles markets to the slightly older audience, late teens through adult, who have started to question religion, life issues, philosophy, ect. So there's really no comparison between the two. My hope is these kids reading Twilight will grow to pick up the Vampire Chronicles, and learn something from them.
Stephenie Meyer is awesome writing about fairies... but she missed the wings part in twilight. Edward is not a vampire he is a fairie... Lestat is a vampire...
Edward makes Lestat look like a gentleman by comparison. Sure, Lestat is a monster, but at least he is honest about it. Edward however, is a creepy and abusive stalker who hides behind excuses like love.
so true! I love how Anne`s vampires are somewhat immortal, but there mind is not. there soul is for ever even after there bodys are gone and the concept of long slumber or mortelised statues is inspiring and mind stirring. love it!
I think they should make a tv series out of anne rice's work...i remember being 12 and litterally devouring the V. chronicles...i love her work and the universe that she created...thank U Anne!!!
"Wonderful writer...entertaining...easy to read..." Well-chosen words, excellent analysis. She compliments Meyer on the level that Meyer's fans can understand, shows respect, and yet does not put it on a level with more intense, adult writing. And of course, she's right - Rice is showing respect, not really on a serious writer's level, but on the level of one publishing phenomenon to another. And yet if you really parse what she's saying, she completely puts Meyer in her place as a hack.
Anne Rice is one of the best vampire authors ever. Stephanie Meyer is an insane Mormon housewife who turned a wet dream into a book series that seems more like a bad fanfiction than a series of novels. There is just no comparison.
Xehanort10 Agreed. It's sad when such an untalented writer(I don't even think she should be called that) gets several books(which when it boils down to are over glorified "adult books") published meanwhile there's many talented writers on the internet who are only known because they were able to post it on a fanfic website.
Anne Rice you are simply amazing. You never cease to astound me with your kindness and wit. I am a fan of all authors, most especially yours and Stephen King. I also love Jk Rowling. I was really determined to not get involved with the Twilight series at first. I fought it tooth and nail. I was of the opinion that vampires shouldn't be sparkly and in high school. Then my sister in law suggested that i watch the first movie.
Anne, Your books are of the gods, I strongly believe that if anyone has the whole vampire thing down, it's you. You're amazing and you make your characters as well as your books in general just absolutely fantastic!
at 0:04, that CLAP sound you hear, That is the sound of the interviewer's cardiac valve blowing up because she choked her laughter too hard when Ms. Rice said that meyer is a wonderful writer....
I did also want to mention about playing with the traditional vampire folklore. I felt that using it as exactly that - folklore - was an interesting move. In "The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner," that folklore is further delved into, as well as offering possible explanations for how these came into being. I found it fresh and interesting. In no way is that a slap to all that came before, as my wife and I find both can be captivating. Thank you, and we wish you continued success! :)
First Mrs.Rice was and still is one of my favorite authors, not only in Vampire/gothic genre. I literally cried when I heard the news that she passed away and all the memories of me reading her work when I was a teenager came back. I read somewhere that her son Mr.Rice said "she used Vampires to show people that they belong", and it described my feeling about reading her works so precisely. I struggled to fit in for most of my life because of who or what I am, and I found great comfort for my loneliness and torment from her works. I still find more insight from rereading her works as I'm much older, though I stopped struggling to fit in and feel self-assured at this stage of life. I was and am still in awe of her works, and I'll never forget how I found great companionship in them. As for twilight, I'm not any public figure so I'll just put it this way: It's a piece of indulgent and harmful ____. I found it stupid as a school girl and I still despise it. It's like porno, but the poorly made ones, besides you can't really m_____ with twilight, so why bother reading it?
I don't agree with the people bashing twilight in this comment section. Anne Rice is clearly saying she thinks Twilight is a charming work of fiction, though she might have creative differences with it.
Great response. I love to see writers being at peace with other treatments of the genre. You rule Anne Rice and so Stephenie. They are both writing vampires for different generations and audience no need to compare the two. I love when writers can admit that the success of another take doesn't mean they have to hate it.
She hit the hammer on the nail. The books were written for young people and that is why they would go high school year after year. Me I would go to Venice and travel the world.
You can tell when Anne Rice pauses at the very beginning before saying that she's a "wonderful writer" that she's just trying real hard not to say something to harsh and trying to be classy. Lol, good on Rice. Clearly, Lestat as a character beats all the characters in twilight to death. Way more fleshed out and just way more interesting. The only character that I will give Meyer credit for, looking back, is Jacob. He was at least likeable in the beginning, but then of course Meyer had to fuck that up in the end. I really think the series would've been better if, at the end of the second book, Bella goes ahead and rescues Edward but then realizes what a toxic person he is and comes to fully understand what he did to her. So, she basically tells him to fuck off and ends realizing has selfish she's been all this time. And then, ultimately, she chooses to be with Jacob instead since then she wouldn't have to leave her family behind and she could have a normal, happy life. You know, since Jacob at least wasn't a controlling, toxic d-bag. I think there would've much more development and the story would've turned out a lot better than what it did. It also could've had a much more valuable lesson. Idk, just my thoughts. Anyways, Rice is the superior writer, clearly.
In 1978, Anne Rice wrote Interview with a Vampire thus kicking off the decades long obsession with vampire stories ever since. Interview WTV is the best vampire book ever written imo.
@MrGothicvampire just wondering is there any audio reading of Anne Rice book that i can be found? i have tried reading one of her books in the past and could not get past 5 or 10 pages i don't remember what book it was. just wondering and please don't look down on me for asking that MrGothicvampire. i ask out of respect.
Interesting interview. I am a fan of both series' and where she's asking what I like about Twilight, the answer is what she's saying: the romance, the danger percieved from the perspective of being a teenage girl in high school, when everything was still so strongly sensed and felt, and not fully understood. Teenage boys were like that! It also gives me a chance to relive and rethink those times. And I enjoy the symbolic, less horror approach. I love Anne's gothic poeticism though, it's divine!
twilight, this is what bram stoker had in mind..... sarcasm.... anne rice novels are true art, the context, the stories, anne rice, i think, trully research about art, literature to give us not only a tale about vampires but an amazing door to other artists, i came in contact with a bast repertory of new books by reading the novels, not like twilight, im always and forever team lestat!!!
@HighProphetOfRegret Did you know that Anne Rice had a six year old daughter who died of leukemia? You may or may not, but the idea that Claudia was killed off just because she was a female love interest doesn't sit well when you look at it from the author's history. A good number of events and characters in the Vampire Chronicles are related to events and people in Anne's life and Claudia was one of them. Louis is Anne's alter ego and Claudia represents the daughter she lost a long time ago.
Anne Rice is very straight forward. She's on my FB. I see what she says and writes everyday. This is her opinion. Going to High School was not silly it dealt with their decision to stay in one place and hunt animals and not humans. They were trying to blend in. They didn't want to move around a lot. Meyer's vampires, and only some of them were trying to gain back their humanity and live as families. But if you read the books or watched the movies, some were very evil and vicious.
Don't you think the school would've noticed that the same boy keeps attending classes year after year without ever getting older? Come on. This crap is dumb beyond words.
There are kids books about vampires too, and movies like "Der kleine Vampir " and not just because it talks about vampires it should be compared, what Anne did was epic classic of the literature, what anyone else has done till now are entretainment for their corresponding ages! Anne, YOU are immortal.
@MsDDiddy I'm actually totally convinced Meyer *has* read Jane Eyre. Although Meyer really based Twilight (somewhat loosely) on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
i so agree about the Meyer books... they were entertaining... (i could only read one...) but written for a younger age group. i understand completely... it is all marketing... & who is your target audience. the Meyer series is aimed for the pre-teen and high school age group. your stories are much deeper... & meant for a mature, thoughtful mind. someone who challenges... provokes...& uses more than 4 letter words...!
Although I am a fan of the Twilight series, I respect your opinion. What I enjoy about the series is the romance, the story of the wolves and the "cold ones," the Cullens' stories about their human lives and the other vampires introduced.
I love how she's trying be respectful but honest. She doesn't like it but understands if someone does. Those stories are for young girls. Of course most adults and serious horror fans are gonna find it ridiculous.
If Stephenie Meyer was not brilliant she would not have sold millions of books. Anyone can criticize, but how successful of a writer are they? She took an old idea and made it new. Our biology dictates how we feel about love and romance, and it seems to be timeless - which is why vampires are so well fitting for these novels. Anne Rice got it right. I read all the books, and I promise I am not in high school anymore. But I really enjoyed the story and admire the genius that created this epic youthful saga. It's been a while now. But Miss Meyers is still enjoying the fruits of her labor, no doubt.
"If Stephenie Meyer was not brilliant she would not have sold millions of books." I laughed so hard at that when I read it that I nearly spit out my coffee. Thank you for starting my day off with a smile :)
Am I the only one that thinks that the way the wolves were created in Twilight was very much the same as how the vampires were created in Rice's Queen Of The Damned???
Great comment. Anne Rice's vampire novels are about the nature of good and evil, how power corrupts, how loneliness can haunt even the most intriguing and powerful of creatures, and many other themes told through the eyes of an amazing character who has seen history unfold over centuries. Meyer's books are children's novels that outline the fantasy of overcoming all those high school woes. I'm not knocking those books either. Anything that generates an interest in reading is good in my opinion.
Anne Rice is still the QUEEN writing within my world; and millions of other readers feel the same way. But, she did point out it was for very young people. I do agree with Ms. Rice though, about the idea of Vampires going to high school as being silly enough to laugh. Ms. Rice had given a very mature and elegant response to what the press criticized her for. Twilight fans need to get a grip though; to go after Ms. Rice over that is ridiculous.
(continuation of the second replay) Stephanie Meyer has took her writing skill especially her creative writing and creative imagination to a level no writer before her has thought of. vampires are mythological or folkloric. like Anne Rice said in a past interview that they are mythological or folkloric there for people can make them out to be what ever they want them to be.
continued from 2nd) bella and edwards relationship is based almost solely on looks. meyer rarely ever describes edward beyond is beauty and his eyes, both of which she describes at length every othee chapter or so. and bella is somehow able to get an amazingly beautiful happy ending, despite never having to struggle or fight or even grow as a person. she is the exact aame person in the end that she was at the beginning.
It works because their books are directed to an immature and silly public. In addition Meyer has too poor, simple and easy to digest narrative. Just so that adolescents can understand.
I love the fact that you can argue this point like a sane human being daniel. as such, I must ask a question: do you see the massive flaws with stephanie meyers series? I'm not asking if you dislike the books, for we all have our pleasures. I will, however, fully acknowledge when a book I somewhat enjoy has a lapse in logic. the twilight series is okay, but it does, to me, have several massive gaps in its logic, and points where meyer contradictsbher own logic repeatedly. would you not agree?
@mylovesesshomarul she read them, she said on an interview that she read the books of Stephenie Meyer and said nicely that they are nice but it's not her cup of tea
I love The Vampire Chronicles....Twilight...ah no. Not at all. For the people saying she is bashing Meyer on here? She is giving her OPINION on these books/movies in a very NICE way. You want to see someone bash Stephanie Meyer....look up anything Stephen King has said on the subject. Now that stuff is hilarious!
Another great author who spoke the truth about Twilight besides Stephen King. It's true, why does a vampire want to go to high school? why would they freaking sparkle? Stephanie should have written about a fairy fantasy instead of vampires. Anne Rice's vampires never get old and I love them for their dark mystery and the pain they go through without being too much of a teenage drama crap and complaint like Edward Cullen.
You dont have to hate Twilight just remember one thing that seperates Anne Rices novels and Stephenie Meyers Twilight series. Anne writes ADULT novels the Twilight novels are YOUNG adult. Just know the target audience and you know how the characters are going to act. For books if it Y.A. books its 14-21. Your main characters are going to relate more to the young and make grown ups sometimes wonder why the characters acting a certain way.
As Ms. Rice has been so kind as to ask the opinions of those favoring the Twilight books, I felt I'd like to share my thoughts. If I see someone with a question and not a slam ok, I won't likely reply to others. Vampires in nearly any setting don't bother me. We often romanticize Venice and other settings, but if you're an immortal, I'd imagine that also would seem mundane after so many years. Vampires who see their condition as a curse may seek the "ordinary" to maintain a human connection.
I never really got into the Twilight craze. It came out before my first depression, a lot of people said how horrible it was, and it was before I hit puberty so I wondered why so many of the guys were shirtless and why people thought Christian was so pretty.
@MsDDiddy She's spoken extensively about it, about how NEW MOON was based on "Romeo & Juliet" and ECLIPSE on "Wuthering Heights" and imho you can see it. Her writing is okay, perfectly readable and the characters are interesting--while the plots are obvious but at least fun. The literary equivalent of an above-average candy bar (Rice's stuff is an entree--something very fancy, with meat and herbs--boef bourginon perhaps).
I read Twilight and New Moon..and what do I think?Im only a 19yr old girl doing her higher english exam this yr that loves literature..and i swear to God when sometimes I read the book I feel as if wrong english is used..and english is not even my native language..I like the story, its quite interesting I can say..but style of Meyer is definitely NOT my fave one..as I love reading books and can say something about it..recently I bought the Interview with the Vampire and I CANT wait to read it !!

I don't know if one can read the Twilight books more than once ( I read only the first 2) But I know that I started reading the whole Vampire Chronicles again :)) and I will read all 12 of them over and over and over again..it's amazing how even though I know what's going to happen, I still can't rest till I read it again :)
I read the Anne Rice books when I was young. And recently I read the Twilight books. No big deal. Everybody can read all the autors and like them for different reasons.
People usually insult Twilight because the vampires shine instead of burning and they try to have humanity, in my opinion every author can give them all the qualities they want, like superheroes, what if all comic books were about super strong flying heroes, if all the heroes had the same powers? i think Stephenie wanted to make her vampires different than the others. I admire Anne and i think it's unfair that some SM fans said she was bashing Twilight when she was just stating her opinion.
@Galatefica and just because i stated that i hated something that i took time reading doesn't make it a contradiction, genius. it's called making an informed opinion.
The books were ok to read once, but I had difficulty reading them a second time. The movies are easier to watch in the sense that they aren't so drawn out. It is a little silly for a vampire to go to high school, but they may be doing it because they are bored with immortality and need something to do everyday. Keep up with the times, if you will.
@soyuncatacol i know she has a degree but judging by the abysmal writing quality of twilight, i'm thinking she used sparks notes on all the literature books she was supposed to read.
Anne Rice is absolutely right!!! If you had all the time in the world, why in the hell would you go to high school??? Stephanie Meyers vampires starts out very strong and can't control there blood lust when they are born, Anne Rice's vampires start off human and as they get older loose there humanity....... The latter seems the most appropriate way to me......Anne Rice is the Queen of vampire lore, and a very gifted writer......No one can touch her in that department.
I think a vampire going to high school could work IF done well. But, obviously in this case it wasn't...plus who would want to be in high school THAT long? Lol.
i love u!!! i am with u... now i am readind Armand the vampire and the next will be Merrick the witch or pandora..let's see... what u think?? Wich one is best to be next?? i've read all the vampire chronicles in order and i want to keep the chronology... greetings from italy
Totally agree with you Mrs. Anne, the movies were very good but the whole idea of these new vampires is totally for a younger audience. Adults prefere vampires like the ones you write about, Lestat is a real vampire in my opinion.
Anne was very generous with this! She could have just panned it like some other authors have. I'm still thinking about reading Twilight from sheer curiosity, but I fear they may be too absurd to get through. Imo Anne Rice novels are synonymous with the word "vampire".
Aaa Anne I did take a shine to the Twilight books and movies she totally gave it her own twist and I enjoyed them BUT I did not crave the next book they way I did your Vampire books. I could not wait to get my hands on the next one. Your Vampires WILL ALWAYS RULE!!!!
i'm actually surprised she's not insulted. i mean, Lestat De Lioncourt is probably the second most recognizable Vampire, second only to Dracula. i so hope i have you review my work someday , Madame.
@LucidDivinity Some of my best friends are Twilight fans! Look, I think Anne Rice is a goddess, and she said exactly what I said. Love it or hate it, that series evokes strong emotions on both sides, so there must be SOMETHING to it. Right?
@GetThisThingCrunk That's the great thing about the Anne Rice books. She changed things by changing the rules and making them seem more humane and tragic characters. You can see how this effects heroic vampires like Angel or even Edward Cullen. They seem to suffer with their powers while other people would be abusing it. They're not monsters but rather tragic heros. Interview with the vampire still has it's rules though like sunlight problems and a need for human blood
Dear Anne, you are a very diplomatic person.

"I think Stephenie Meyer is an amazing writer"
i love Anne Rice's sence of humour!!!!!!!!!
Fairies are actually supposed to be evil, vile creatures. Them being good and pure and cute is only the modern interpretation.
Mischievous is often confused with evil
Imps perhaps?
No he is a vampire. Get a life.
Edward makes Lestat look like a gentleman by comparison. Sure, Lestat is a monster, but at least he is honest about it.
Edward however, is a creepy and abusive stalker who hides behind excuses like love.
Backhanded compliments are the most elegant form of criticism.
so true!
I love how Anne`s vampires are somewhat immortal, but there mind is not. there soul is for ever even after there bodys are gone and the concept of long slumber or mortelised statues is inspiring and mind stirring. love it!
I think they should make a tv series out of anne rice's work...i remember being 12 and litterally devouring the V. chronicles...i love her work and the universe that she created...thank U Anne!!!
lol, me 12 years ago wishing it into existence :) Dear Anne, the series is a blast, thank you always
I miss you already 😭❤️🦇 Rest In Peace
Anne Rice is one of the best vampire authors ever. Stephanie Meyer is an insane Mormon housewife who turned a wet dream into a book series that seems more like a bad fanfiction than a series of novels. There is just no comparison.
Xehanort10 Agreed. It's sad when such an untalented writer(I don't even think she should be called that) gets several books(which when it boils down to are over glorified "adult books") published meanwhile there's many talented writers on the internet who are only known because they were able to post it on a fanfic website.
Sir, you've nailed it. The most accurate description ever! 😂
Team Lestat forever! 🍷👑
I so love Anne Rice!!!! she has class
I wonder what she would think of Vampire Knight?
I love it how she's constructive with her criticism! :D she's a very good speaker, I could listen to her talk all day!
I like how diplomatic and impartial she sounds while expressing her opinion.
Lestat > Edward
In 1978, Anne Rice wrote Interview with a Vampire thus kicking off the decades long obsession with vampire stories ever since. Interview WTV is the best vampire book ever written imo.
I just loved the way she cracked up at the hypothesis of an immortal going to high school
I love Anne Rice, read all her books and am a big fan, and she is not hard to look at even at 72
I don't think Anne has anything to fear ;) I mean after all she has Lestat...and the rest of her bad ass vampires.
interview with the Vampire is how Vampire's are supposed to be like, as much as I like Twilight but Vamps don't Sparkle
Please just stfu.
A Anne falando inglêsé tão fácil de compreender, ela é quase didática (L)
i so agree about the Meyer books...
they were entertaining...
I have all 4 Twilight books but I couldn't finnish the last one LOL.
I hope your vampires will be on the silver screen again one day Anne!
Am I the only one that thinks that the way the wolves were created in Twilight was very much the same as how the vampires were created in Rice's Queen Of The Damned???
Queen of the Vampire novels , Anne Rice!!!
Omg, why haven't I seen this before??
She inspired my books (series), The Veracity Diaries. ❤

@SeekingOutTomorrow The Tale of the Body Thief has one (no spoilers, lol!)
ah? I love those who fancy themselves as a "rogue element ". never gets old, dear Silent.
I read Twilight and New Moon..and what do I think?Im only a 19yr old girl doing her higher english exam this yr that loves literature..and i swear to God when sometimes I read the book I feel as if wrong english is used..and english is not even my native language..I like the story, its quite interesting I can say..but style of Meyer is definitely NOT my fave one..as I love reading books and can say something about it..recently I bought the Interview with the Vampire and I CANT wait to read it !!
thanks for that al3x1103 plus thanks for under standing our debate. i do see where u are coming from since i have read some of Anne Rices book when i have been able to find them in the past i have come close to finishing some of them. some day i will under what u have be saying in our debate. I will still have a love for Anne Rices books and other writers books.i be leave that i was close to under standing opinion i hope u was to mine. Thanks for our debate.
Deep down, we all know what she’s thinking.
“Anyway, Louis and Lestat are a much better couple.”
That says a lot knowing they couldn't be together because if the homophobia
Pay attention to 0:30. She has to pause before she says "and good", as if she doesn't really agree with her statement she is just trying to be polite.
Going to high school as an immortal makes as much sense as working at the DMV as an immortal.
Not really they are both quite different
Jeremysepicreads :D
I think you missed the point. lol
I think a vampire going to high school could work IF done well. But, obviously in this case it wasn't...plus who would want to be in high school THAT long? Lol.
very classy and thoughtful response from a Queen
i love u!!! i am with u... now i am readind Armand the vampire and the next will be Merrick the witch or pandora..let's see... what u think?? Wich one is best to be next?? i've read all the vampire chronicles in order and i want to keep the chronology... greetings from italy
Oh and your right i stopped reading for a while and Twilight was the book that brought me back, fortunatly my taste has improved greatly : )
This is like Francis Ford Coppola talking about Uwe Boll
Anne is very respectful and classy regardless
@IrishCat04 it would make a great mini-serries for HBO
Your
Vampires WILL ALWAYS RULE!!!!
i'm actually surprised she's not insulted. i mean, Lestat De Lioncourt is probably the second most recognizable Vampire, second only to Dracula. i so hope i have you review my work someday , Madame.
