Hi Matt... Al here. Love this teaching of the #7. I also have a question that I noticed in your swing. At the top of the backswing ( @ 0.56, 1.27, 1.46) I noticed that it looked as if your wrists were really loose (not holding the club still) and letting the club head drop into almost a boomerang effect. I have been holding the club with still wrists at the top, but it looks as though you are letting the club head drop a little. Does this looseness of the wrists create the subtle quickness?
I was doing that to promote a longer swing arc but it creates accuracy problems. I think, holding the wrist is a much more powerful and accurate way to hit the ball and it is the way the Dunaway taught it. You’ve given me the idea to address it in a future video. Thank you.
Matt, whenever I start the downswing I concentrate on relaxing all tension in my arms and shoulders. Seems to help with keeping the 7 intact. I still need to work on the Austin hand action but your videos have really improved my ball striking.
Ken, that’s a great tip for everyone. Relaxing all tension in your arms and shoulders helps to keep the Seven intact. Thanks so much for sharing that. I’m so glad my videos are helping improve your ball striking.
Tried this at the range yesterday. Best tip ever. Worked like a charm.
Gary, thank you for the feedback. I’m so glad you got great results from the tip.
Just another superb video. Will try it next time on course. Thanks a lot Matt
Glad you enjoyed it
