Volkswagen engines give more mileage than Maruti. That question is not valid for Maruti anymore...!
Armaan Sandhu am including Volkswagen petrol engines....show me a better petrol engine than a TSi. Don’t say Vtec, its good but not reliable like VW’s TSi. Toyota is good otherwise.

People are so much familiar with maruti that almost every Indian learn driving in a maruti and give test in a maruti. That's why they love to buy a maruti as their first car.
m from assam. 1st we had a maruti 800,then we bought alto lxi..and in 2017 we exchanged alto with wagon r vxi..till then i was a proud owner of maruti..and never tried any foreign car..suddenly i got a chance to drive Volkswagen polo diesel..after driving it for 200km.i was just shocked..after then i did drive aspire..gt tsi, ameo,amaze and all. i finally realise my mistake and i sold out my wagon r vxi and bought an vw ameo diesel..now i realised wht is drivability , torque and acceleration ..during my maruti times my car was just an people mover.

Even being a loyal Hyundai customer for 7 years, we now have one Baleno and another Ignis...
You know why Maruti Sales... Because of it's engines and gears, which are smoothest in the market....

Modern Maruti cars lack the soul of old Maruti cars, i.e fun to drive. Cars like Swift, Zen, Esteem and Gypsy were fun to drive. When fuel prices increased, Maruti concentrated on mileage instead of fun to drive and safety by reducing weight of these cars a lot . So and so they are called tin ka dabba.
In Meghalaya People love Maruti because any goddamn mechanic from the street know how to repair a maruti car. You'll get the spare parts even from tea shops and the presence of cheap duplicate parts help a lot.

The mileage on any Suzuki car is of a different league compared to others!! The Hyundai and other brands offered power but very less fuel efficiency
The reliability of Suzuki is very close to Toyota.. and is cheaper as well ... Eg the 1.3l diesel engine had very optimistic reviews abt reliability.. if maintained properly it could do 6 lakh Kms and still work like a charm..

The biggest reason is the after sale service and availability of the service center in every part of the country.
Tbh , the only downside of MARUTI cars is it’s Safety .
But the newer Nexa cars (XL6, Grand vitara etc) and Brezza are showing sighns of improvements.
But even when MAruti does this everyone starts hating MAruti for increasing the prices of this cars by 3-5 lakhs 🙃😒

The main reason is that they are (or used to be) cheap. Most points are related to this same point.
1. Resale - Cheap (low depreciation)
2. Mileage - Cheap
3. Service - (used to be) Cheap
4. Reliability - Cheap
5. Price - (used to be) Cheap
Except when you get into an accident. That's when it becomes expensive. For both the car and the passengers.

Speed speed speed.. safety is all about speed..i daily see hundreds nd thousands of maruti cars over taking other slowly moving cars which are known for built and safety in the road.. i definitely never argue about maruti's quality... if you don't want to die in an accident... u go below 60kmph..if you r interested to travel at higher speeds.. no bmw can save you when an incident occur... its all about luck or fate then...otherwise ask to the BMW engineers, what speed they recommend for their finest product for ensured safety.... 👍
