As someone who has barely played DOTA, but whose favorite streamers LOVES Dota 2 (CDNThe3rd), I’ve been curious to know the differences & similarities between Dota & Deadlock, which I’ve been absolutely loving as a former OW player. I was looking for this exact sort of video today & couldn’t find one. Then, your video came up in my recommended. We love to see it 🥹🙌🏾
Words cannot explain how good the solution to souls collection is. You cannot steal the creeps from teammates which just removes so much stress and so much toxicity with such a simple solution of splitting the net worth evenly
Tbh I actually expected DL to be much, much simpler in terms of mechanics than it actually turns out to be. So far I like it a lot, but I expected the moba mechanics to be dumbed down a lot more. Glad they didn't over-do that though, feels like the game's got some nice depth to it at the moment without being basically an instant turn off for new players.
The biggest change is that you have to aim, move, jump, dash etc. Because of that deadlock is a lot more fps dependent. A lot of players get 30-70 fps which is not nearly enough to play well. Dota is not that harsh on you pc and more forgiving if you have lower frames. I see this all the time how streamers play the game for the first time and can play relatively well because of their high end PCs. This kind of game is not designed to be played if your fps is lower than 120.
@@TorteDeLini2 Sure, but it's not gonna get much better. Games usually become worse as the time goes. dota, cs. Pubg runs terribly now compared to 2017.
I’ve been getting into Deadock and I enjoy the kind of farming and leveling up progression system probably even more than the 3rd person combat, so would you recommend Dota 2 to a MOBA beginner who likes Deadock?
I personally wouldn't. Dota 2 is an old game which is probably nearing the end of its days (I predict it will linger around for another 10 or so years as the player base dwindles out like SC2). It takes about 100 hours just to get over the learning curve, whereas I have found deadlock way more new player friendly (you can just jump in and have fun, since Dota 2 is old, the player base is sweaty since everyone assumes you know how to play). TL;DR Deadlock is the future, Dota 2 is the past.
@@bencarlson4300 Don't listen to that guy, just download the game and try it yourself. Only YOU can say if you like it or not. (and Dota 2 is definitely not 'near the end')
if you're willing to put in the effort to learn then hell yes, dota is crazy interesting but prepare for many hours of barely understanding anything league is more about micro skill, landing skillshots, combos etc dota is all about strategy and decision making and has much more depth then league it's the most complex game ever made and I'm not exaggerating to learn dota I'd recommend BananaSlamJamma and PainDota youtube channels, the best educational content out there
I think Dota requires a lot more layered knowledge because the game doesn't have as many directional changes to lead your team into winning. For example, a lot of games people get caught up in trying for kills without taking towers because they don't understand the value of mapcontrol. So even with a lead, Dota players can sometimes throw that way just by not moving forward in their match. Deadlock has a lot more skillshot abilities and aiming is required for a lot of heroes as well as having the awareness of where you are centered in a fight without the top down view in Dota. Their skill ceilings vary heavily
Tried it, don't like it. Characters are lame, setting is lame and weird scifi film noir, skills are lame and slow, itemization is lame and overly complicated for a FPS. Its like TF2, DOTA, Concord and Paragon had a weird inbred baby
I can't imagine the work and stress on updating the guides and making videos on Dota 2 but now you're on Deadlock? You go king 💪
It's crazy to think that this is still on an alpha build they could do so much more
