Met him at BC Surf and Sport in the 80s. Everyone knocked him when half pipe was in and street was starting. Now, it's street and Rodney tricks.... master GOAT
Pat Quirke! The "Q" man!! he looks right towards the camera at the 1:40 mark!!!! Curtis Head (the Daddy) and Q are the first skate fucking legends in the Northwest. Mentors to all the madness that the Grindline and Hesh Crews brought to the table. ALDEDLY in the house!! -Burnt Rich
I just watched the video and said the EXACT same thing!!!! I think I heard Q was in Portland a few years ago. Still skates Burnside I heard. That dude is legend. Hope he is doing well these days.
Rail shove to tail stop. It's looks like a 360 because the first 180 is just him getting it down to rail but once it's in rail, he immediately shoves it for that nice full circle appearance. It's a fun trick to do!
It is!!!! I just saw it myself while randomly streaming this video!!! I knew it when I saw him, but I still had to do about 2 or 3 rewinds just to make sure I was not fucking hallucinating! OG ALDEDLY. Have a great day. - Burnt Rich

I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this dancey. Super cool
@1:44 the camera can no longer take the masterful skills of Rodney Mullen...system error!
the song is Peter And The Test Tube Babies - Blown Out Again

Cool. At first I thought it was Joy Division.
Just a few months before I was born. This is like the 10th one I've watched from the 80s. Still haven't seen him fall down once.
I prefer these old videos of him skating a freestyle board it's mesmerizing
LOVE the beginning!! Rodney skated a little differently from usual at that contest... great footage!! :D
such a beautiful routine
And the winner is Rodney... all the other skateboarders went home.
