I don't think that most people truly appreciate how good he was. Just take a look at this movie - he's casually doing rail darkslides and underflips in front of the live audience - tricks that most skaters nowadays don't do, because they are so hard, and if they do it it's usually hundreds of attempts to land it just once.
His Fingerflip Variations are soooo beyond flawless. And this ,i dont even know the name, one foot varial? is😵. Watching him perform Art never gets old.
Not only is the downtempo “Soul Miner” instrumental such a perfect fit for this part, chill, calm, and easy-going like Mullen himself, but how sick is it that it’s your former fellow Bones Brigade team member Tommy Guerrero’s song :P
Thanks for uploading this! I was there the day he was skateboarding in Frankston, Australia hosted P.S.C on the Globe tour! True child memory from the 90’s.
He does this trick in his Public Domain part. On a freestyle board, but yeah.. 1988. He also does probably the first flat ground tre flip in the slow portion at the end. th-cam.com/video/LkCIirpLKw4/w-d-xo.html
Well I mean he co-founded his company with $6000 down and worked his butt off to build it into a skateboarding company worth $29 million by the time he sold most of his stake (shortly after this interview was filmed) only ten years later
@@snaggle_tooth6829 Yea, he talks about how he started World Industries with Steve Rocco back in 1988 in his autobiography _The Mutt: How to Skateboard and Not Kill Yourself_ which is hella good, and for info abt him eventually selling most of his stake in 1998 (right after this interview) also check out Wikipedia’s article abt World Industries at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Industries

It’s not that he casually does the tricks… he invented them!❤️
These nose 360 are the most beautiful trick!
Casually darksliding rails
it took me at least 5 tries to do on a low ledge and no way to do that on a rail ever. rodney is just fking amazing
All those trendy skater on ig, but none could beat Rodney's level of steezyness
The best to ever do it. Yet so humble and chilled. So much love for this guy :-) an absolute skate god right here

Not landing one footed but achieving the trick with one foot?
Bonkers.

This is AWESOME!!!👍
legend
Can you imagine being at a demo and seeing him dark slide a rail and then going home to play THPS? I mean shit.
And after, they organized one game of skate and they said : "Rodney, you, You don't participate " :D
"im sorry rodney we have to ban you from any game of skate"
RODNEY MULLEN el mejor de la historia, punto
anyone else in a rodney run ? 😆
0:39 f*$king sick
1:18 My fav part, when he just casually spins himself while the board is stationary, in the middle of the rest of his usual freestyle stuff.
This Is the best legend of SK8 street !
"Who is the bravest man in the world Da???"- "The one who jumps on his board in the skatepark after Rodney just did his thing boy..."
GOAT 🐐
Is laugh cracks me up in the end❤

@@trentlane6971 🤣
I can do a 360 one so that one its nothing for him
It's real. Other freestyle skateboarders can do that too.
What did he say at 3:39?
Wax? Like for the obstacles he would carry to his skate spots.
Remember kids, if it wasnt for booze there wouldnt be ollies n stuff
i bet all audience eyes are on him. other team members was like "oh cmon...i just landed switchflip bs talislide switch bigspin revert nobody lookin"
Wait this dude had to have an actually job? Wtf thats just wrong

Imagine what skateboarding would be now if his father was a piece of shit and refused to buy him a board.
Or if he had been an obedient son and did what his father told him to do and gave up skateboarding to play golf instead
Theres only one skater Nijah Huston
