Who gets to star in not only Star Wars but also Blade Runner and Indiana Jones ?? Its no wonder people love him so deeply, those movies really do exude a timeless incomparable charm in people's imaginative minds ... what people do not see is how much and how long he had to struggle at the bottom taking on bit roles, breaking all his front teeth in the process ... even during childhood he was bullied by kids who pushes him down a hill on a daily basis but he always shows up the next day to frustrate those bullies who once again pushes him downhill ... He is the kind of person I hope to see succeed in life ... and he deserves all my years of admiration for not being an a-hole after getting success, every fan encounter I've read about him are positive experiences from fans who met him ...
Hansel Organa aka Hans Solo & Dr Henry Walton Jones, Jnr aka Indiana Jones. Two of my favourite film 🎥 characters portrayed by his lordship, Harrison Ford.
So delighted and grateful that this has been posted! Having attended this wonderful talk by Mr. Harrison Ford at Cinequest, my husband and I have several friends who were disappointed to have missed it. Now we can share it with them, and enjoy it again ourselves. Many thanks!
According to many various published reports: Mark Hamill received $1, 000 per week, Carrie Fisher $850 per week and Harrison Ford $750 per week salary on "A New Hope" in 1976 days. All did receive much higher fee for "Empire Strikes Back" plus back ended percentage points from profit. Example according to TIME Magazine, May 1980 Carrie long after Star Wars success received then $320 grand as token bonus. By "Empire" Harrison was paid $100 grand plus percentage points. All original stars were given higher salary + points for each sequel but no merchandise likeness nor royalties. Sir Alec Guiness fared well though and received $2 Million as bonus even though he appeared as ghost later on for just a few days work. REMINDER THOUGH ALL WORKED IN UK THEN So add tax as well.
5:06 that's the point of so many careers, and non-careers, in Hollywood, or any other major film-making business. A lot of people don't need the money that they are being paid, because somehow, their bread-and-butter money is coming from somewhere else.
I wonder why he goes to events like this when he's obviously incredibly uncomfortable with it. He is not relaxed at all, never smiles. I find it difficult to watch or listen to him.
aWall. Wrong. He wrote a long letter to the draft board declaring why he was a concientious objector using some philosophical ideas he recalled from a professor or professors at Ripon college and he stated that after he sent the letter, he waited and waited...and the government/military...simply never replied...never drafted him. He never heard from them again.

He is got to be my favorite actor.

Everyone even down to crew received $6 grand by George Lucas from the first Star Wars and its re-releases.
Very nice to see the photograph of Anthony Ingruber in black & white.
Oh wait.

KING
That is fate.
Somebody else notice how much Jennifer(the interviewer) is blinking with her eyes? I would go insane if i was Ford.
nervous and sign of attraction
Whats written on her eyelids ?
@@stringsnare Yeah sounds about right
He said he did American Grafiti and she then asks how did you meet George Lucas.
Stanley Kramer, not Stanley Kubrick.

It was Stanley Kramer.
You are a huge inspiration to me Mr Ford
He ought to have hosted a construction show. Broaden his repertoire.
he couldnt make a wooden stool....lol just a framer
How was a college dropout turned carpenter able to dodge the draft?
He applied as a conscientious objector, and before his case went all the way through, he became a dad, and dads weren't on the draft list at the time.

Yawn fest. Not his best interview.
I find it a yawn feat listening to people who don’t shut up
