Who cares if it's a military vehicle, that seems like such a dumb rule not to mention I'm pretty sure they have already made military vehicles but man this sucks I liked the osprey
It's unfair, it's like dangling a piece of bacon at a person who hasn't had breakfast and then flinging it away... Comically bad analogy but yeah... Lol
They should throw away anything related to "war" to be fair. Which includes, Ninjago, Castles, Lord of the Rings, StarWars, Avengers, Pirate Ships......
I think it was around 2007 that Lego started outlining black parts with a white border in instructions. It's really subtle, but it helps so much with distinguishing black and dark greys.
The main point is that this set is in partnership with Beoing etc themselves, liscening, and Ninjago etc is fictional, not real world vehicles and liscened by real world companies. Is Lego justified though? I don't know.
@@Daniel-vj9oq it's more lego partnering with military companies. By buying these products, you are helping fund these companies which is part of what was controversial about this set
Well, Lego did it again. The probably best set of the summer Technic wave gone. I'm so angry I could boil over. :( Star Wars? Sure no Problem, Ninjago? Sure no Problem. But a F*ing Helicopter which does not even have guns? Noooo thats far to violent. :( I really hope some copycat jumps in as the instructions will surly surface at one point and it will be quite easy to duplicate than. Thanks again Lego !!!
In this twisted time of twisted word and twisted actions the cancellation of 42113 seems pretty much normal. Abnormality becomes normal. Speaking of 8434, I got it by occasion several years ago. It's a good set made of rare colors from far away year 2004. A real piece of history!
I really think if they just remove the licensing it'll be fine. it has several rescue stickers plastered over it. tbh making it gray probably wasn't the best choice since it does make it look more military like.
LEGO knew from the beginning that this se can be controversial. I suspect that the actual reason for cancellation is not protests, but serious quality issues. They found an excuse to recall this model.
I don't think so - I've seen the review of the set and it looks great. LEGO was afraid that the small protests might become a "movement" against them. Such is the woke bullshit world we live in at the moment.
Finally, someone notices this old set. It is my very first technic set so I really like this. Also, it is based on AW609 which is also a tiltrotor aircraft like V22. But given the terrible technic panels at that time, it really is a skeleton rather than an aircraft. It is really amazing to see how techinic sets have evolved from more than a decade ago. However, it's sad to see how LEGO has regressed that they wouldn't dare to produce a "rescue" aircraft. What a shame smh.
It’s sad that LEGO decided not to do the Osprey. I wonder what companies protested so powerfully that LEGO listened and cancelled a set I bet lots of people were looking forward to. Anyways, thanks for the other review!!
AFAIK it was a german kind of of NGO trying to ban anything related to the military from toy manufactures. The problem seems to be that it is against Legos own rules which are made public in a report! Of course this is pure nonsense, what a crazy and stupid world do we live in nowadays!
The only company responsible for the cancellation was Lego itself. Those "protesters" were made up of a group of 3 people. That would not sway any multinational conglomerate.
They weren't branded, and could be any tiltorotor aircraft. The Osprey 22 on the other hand is an aircraft that has only ever been used exclusively in military engagements.
That’s sad actually I never knew about that. However, I was looking for a review for the other set the other day and couldn’t find one, so great timing haha
Yeah, except hardly anyone will get access to it. Retailers and distributors will be forced by LEGO to return the stock as part of a "recall" clause of their contracts. Sad thing is all the sets already produced will end up being destroyed.
I wish they still used these "verification steps" in more advanced lego models. I realised the tyres of my sian were spinning in opposite directions only when I had already finished building it (I had mounted the rear differential in the wrong way). Luckily I was able to fix it without disassembling the entire thing, but imagine if I got something wrong while building the gearbox...
Who needs instructions. Why can’t you make your own Osprey to sell. It can be military or rescue. If you do and sell it you could make a fortune. Time consuming yes, but it would be worth it. It’s not like LEGO community hasn’t built something this difficult before off of pictures.
That is so stupid as they have already produced a military helicopter the heavy lift helicopter b model is military helicopter also the Indiana jones sets and star wars sets are based around shooting and guns.
LEGO produces Marvel and DC Comics sets with actual guns and HUMVEE-like trucks and attack helicopters and somehow that's right... Not to mention the various Indiana Jones sets with actual German aircraft from WWII. LEGO needs to be consistent...
There have been multiple CH-47 Chinook models in the past few years... That's a military helicopter as well. It's like, LEGO just can't have an actual detailed model of a vehicle, if they come close that's fine but that's as far as it can apparently go...
Actually I don't care, there are plenty other technic sets that I want, the cement truck for instance, there were some more but I don't remember the details right now.
I would love to have the new Lego version of the V-22 Osprey. What would it take for you to send one to me??? Price??????? The technic version you have here in the video looks like that to be of the, i believe was called the Augusta Westland AW609
Just looked on ebay and wow, cant believe how much they are asking for it any where from 400 pounds to 1200 and still bidding and 75 pound postage from New Zealand
Very dissappointed to know that the set is cancelled. I really looked forward for that set. Lego now is not only about children. Technic sets are pretty much Adult toys.
why would you import the 3d model like that? from LDD to Studio to LDCAD, just to see the color difference of 1 set of parts, so much more trouble than it was worth, and this is a personal gripe but why the hell would the final destination be ldcad, it has the most heinous UI of the 3 by far, and is the least well developed, not to mention it smashes most foreign files loaded into it
Yeah, that heinous UI still offers more that the 2 others. Just try to make some flex axles or cables in Studio, I'll be here waiting for you with my crappy LDCad to give you a helping hand when you give up ;)

It's good they canceled it. The military industrial complex isn't child's play. And for people saying "why not cancel X theme because it's violent too" there are two reasons that is wrong. First, fantasy violence in a fictional storyline is extremely different from the lives and families destroyed by modern imperialist military operations. Secondly, it's not just about violence it is a rescue version after all. It is about the fact that the plane was exclusively utilized within the military. I'm sure if the plane was commonly used by governments or companies for non-military purposes Lego would have kept it.
Thanks for supplementing us with another review after the Osprey was cancelled. This made my day!

I think the real reason Lego cancelled the V22 is the design flaw in the gearbox. We cancelled is because its military is just an excuse
LEGO would not need to cancel a set because of a flaw like this, especially when it can be fixed with only a few extra gears.
In this twisted time of twisted word and twisted actions the cancellation of 42113 seems pretty much normal. Abnormality becomes normal.
