Great content. I lived in Bangkok 15 years ago and the transformation and growth of this country has been remarkable. The Thai people seem to be much better off than they used to be which is great to see. It’s so much more expensive than it used to be which is a little sad for people who experienced the old Thailand but better for the Thai people......and no doubt you’re related to Jack Black.
You definitely pay for location. Move a little ways out from central BKK, but still next to BTS or MRT and the prices go down considerably. Be careful when entering into a one year contract, because landlords are known for upping the rent at the end of the lease. If you know you'll be staying longer, lock in the rent with a longer lease. Also, make sure the quoted rent includes condo fees. With some it does, and others it doesn't. Avoid units that do not have a frost free refrigerator, like this one. Make sure to select a unit that does not face the morning or afternoon sun, if you want to keep your electric costs down. Rates are negotiable, but be mindful the agent's commission is equal to one month's rent, so don't be surprised if you're shown places with the highest rates first. Ask for an inventory of all items that are included. This will be important when you move out. Deposits are typically 2 months rent and it can take a month or more to get it back, after moving out. Make sure to ask who pays for maintenance, including A/C and appliances.
Great info David, thank you. The one thing about locking in rent for a longer lease, my only concern would be if you're stuck with bad neighbors (noisy, etc.).

The ability to make a bedroom or portion of a living area an office is a real selling point. Every foreigner coming to Thailand needs a studio to be a potential TH-camr 😂🤣
Just discovered your channel and watched all three of the condo tours ( and not at all because of Nan . . . ) & subscribed. I love Bkk, but couldn't live there - so I'm off to Mae Hong Son (hopefully next year).
I like the two bedroom and it is near airport transportation. Would prefer another one-half bedroom. Sink is rather small. Did notice on the map, it is near two hospitals which is important at my age.
Great videos of the three units. Just watched them all. Have you talked about your place in a previous video? Looks spacious - do you mind sharing a little info about it, such as general area, size, and price? Keep up the great content!
TH-cam suggested this video/channel for me (although I don't know why). The condos look nice and cheap, but I can't just jump up and move to Bangkok. The year-round hot/humid weather just doesn't agree with me. :( I've never been there, but I just looked up weather averages. The amount of rain, along with the high temperatures during much of the year is a sauna. I would perish. Anyway, for price comparison sake, my monthly home costs in my part of the world (in California) is cheaper than Bangkok. The reason for that is my mortgage is paid in full, so it's basically property taxes, maintenance and utilities. I'll stick with my part of the world for now. Good videos.
Out and about you still see a lot of people wearing masks, and in shops and shopping malls, I'd say 98% are wearing masks. But they're not required in most places and during personal/small things like this, most people don't wear them.

Another great video Chris with Jira. I am looking forward to viewing the private villas for sale. I love Thailand and i am trying to decide where to buy a pool villa. In Pattaya or in Hua Hin? Tks Chris from Roy in Scotland.
The main problem with condos in BKK is the lack of closet space. I've walked in and out of a tour like this in under 20 seconds, a few times, when I realized right away that there was literally no closet, or a useless tiny one. I'd say, to avoid wasting time, ask beforehand how many closets a unit has, and how big each one is.

Is it possible for you to ask or find out what these apartments prices were before the pandemic?? I think the prices will move back to pre pandemic prices when most of us are allowed to come back.
@@Tracydot3 I think the price is high for Bangkok because at the moment its a limping City with not much to see other than For Sale notices and lots and lots of traffic which gives us pollution which worsens the closer you are to the skyline. Hello! Can you please advise about the rental terms for a place like this? Also, are there places that will rent to you for shorter periods, like 3 to 6 months?
Good morning! Be advised that for an unknown reason it's very difficult to contact Nan or the agency at the given contacts below. Are there any other options regarding the same? Thank you.
Is internet included in the condo price or is that also extra? Another question I have is do you have to hang dry your clothes on the balcony or do they have an area to dry your clothes
Internet/ basic tv package with True is around 900 baht a month and up if you want film channels, etc . As for drying it's normal for balcony drying when its 30 degrees plus most of the year so just invest in a good airer to fit on your balcony
Whenever their are beautiful girls in an agency and the agency is in a nice office, there are charging large commissions which increases the price of your rent
@@Thewootanglife No moron, just stating how it works in marketing. You dont need an agency, you can deal directly with owners. If you want to pay more for rent because the agency gets a fat commission, then that is your stupidity
@@Thewootanglife I see it is your first time in Thailand. I speak fluent Thai but even if you dont, there are plenty of publications that have direct to owner rentals.
Hi Chris,am coming to Thailand for six weeks in october.Saw the lovely condos you toured and wonder if we can just book them for a week or does it have to be a month? Was the real estate place called Prime ? Cheers Kiwi Chris
When I was in Bkk, first night, got there with my backpack in the red light district. Some American 10 years older than me asked if I wanted to crash at his place. This guy lived on the 63rd floor in downtown BKK for $400/month. He had an incredible sky gym, cleaner, sweet pool, free liquor from the place. I'm still blown away, I completely forgot the name though.
I know these condos you showing are for people who are retired and/or ready to move and stay in Thailand for good? But do you have recommendation for people who just want to vacation in Thailand but don't want to stay in hotels? Are there any modern places (furnished) for extended stay maybe weekly or monthly and include all utilities?
I wanna ask, is it allowed to add an appliance/s if your renting a condo like an oven, a small one? I am planning to study (baking) there if everything is okay by next year. Thank you.
I'll give you a hint...it's right beside the 7-11. 555 I stood on a street in Bangkok a few years ago looking in 3 directions I could see three 7-11's. I hope you gave Nan a few bucks for the tour, she did a good job. I watched all 3 and I was mostly surprised by the rain. I hardly seen any rain my 4 times in Thailand, yes of course I'm usually heading back to Canada at the start of the rainy season. People might be wondering why a washing machine but no dryer. Oddly enough I found that when you wash your clothes the machine does a pretty good job of spinning them almost dry. Typically you just hang them up on the balcony on a clothes rack type of contraption.
She seems so decent and modest. I do not know if most Eastern Asian women are like this but I have got the impression so far. A very useful video. Unfortunately, the location seems to loud, too much traffic around.
My condo in Nonthaburi is 50.000 thb per year, not per month! It is in a complex just outside Bang Krasor MRT Station. From that station I can reach Sukhumvit within 45 minuts by MRT. The complex has a front security stop, a pool and a gym. It was built just a few years ago and I am the first renter. My condo is just 23 m² = 255 feet² in size, but a double sized condo there is about 85.000 thb per year. The center of Bangkok is very expensive because only foreigners live there because only foreigners can afford it. But if you move out you can still reach the center within 45 minutes and the prices will be one third or even less.
If you want to live just a bit outside the center, you only need to pay about 5,000 - 7,000 baht / month. ($175 - $240 /monh) I pay 6,500 baht for my brand new one bedroom. It has a swimming pool and a gym. It's 2 minutes walk from the MRT station that connects to the BTS in 2 stops. 7 11 downstairs, massage, restaurants, coffee shops, barber, etc. I don't know why farangs always pay so much.
amazing comment. my hope with this channel is that each video STARTS a conversation that others add to. so your useful information added onto this topic is EXACTLY what i'm hoping we get more of here. cheers!

condo fully furnished with 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living n dine area also pantry is quite spacious, interior cozy n tidy, price reasonable, just location little bit far from down town, btw tx4share chris
Nice video brother. Do you have a camera gear video as well? I’m very curious about how you record your audio. Every time I record next to a street in Bangkok there is so much traffic noise.
all on my iPhone!
Real estate investments could be considered real deals and sure brings forth larger profits but as much requires a huge capital for a start
You are right but ofcourse there are some other investments that doesn't require much capital for a start especially cryptocurrency investment
I have a lot about cryptocurrency investments, please I would like to know, is it really profitable and how much can one start with???
Ofcourse it is profitable, I made a good profit of 18,000 USD with a capital of 6500 USD on my last trade. I have made over 42000 USD trading bitcoin
@@daveleeoninvsting4068 Wow !! Now that's an awesome return on investment right now pls what strategy did you use and how do I start up my own investment
@@cryptogains5195The best strategy to use in bitcoin trading is to trade with a professional broker who understand the bitcoin market like their own farm and make maximum profit for investors
Really great review. Nan has such a beautiful accent
is it a Thai thing to place the kitchen right at the entrance of the unit?
Thank you Chris, it more in my budget...
Great video, keep up the good work !!!!!!
Another great video Chris with Jira. I am looking forward to viewing the private villas for sale. I love Thailand and i am trying to decide where to buy a pool villa. In Pattaya or in Hua Hin?
Tks Chris from Roy in Scotland.
I like this series way more than the previous condo tours. Those condos were nice but this is more realistic!
Nan is so pretty ! Ughh
Hey. When it comes to paying electricity in a place like that, who would I have to pay for it? Or is it like a prepaid meter?
I hate to see her leave but I love to watch her go.
The main problem with condos in BKK is the lack of closet space. I've walked in and out of a tour like this in under 20 seconds, a few times, when I realized right away that there was literally no closet, or a useless tiny one. I'd say, to avoid wasting time, ask beforehand how many closets a unit has, and how big each one is.
amazing comment. my hope with this channel is that each video STARTS a conversation that others add to. so your useful information added onto this topic is EXACTLY what i'm hoping we get more of here. cheers!
@@RetiredWorkingForYou We're all here to help each other, and your videos are most certainly doing that :).
Is it possible for you to ask or find out what these apartments prices were before the pandemic?? I think the prices will move back to pre pandemic prices when most of us are allowed to come back.
The prices did not change during the pandemic. Still high for SE Asia.
@@Tracydot3 I think the price is high for Bangkok because at the moment its a limping City with not much to see other than For Sale notices and lots and lots of traffic which gives us pollution which worsens the closer you are to the skyline. All that glitters is not gold in other words but as always an amazing and well presented video.
Are there condos with gas stove in kitchen? Is there piped gas supply in any condos in central Bangkok area? Thanks.
6:37 "How big is the unit"? He asked. 42 sqm with 2 bedrooms. Can't believe it. Unless the rooms are very small.
Hello! Can you please advise about the rental terms for a place like this? Also, are there places that will rent to you for shorter periods, like 3 to 6 months?
I would like a tour of “The River” complex Or any similar on the river.
i'm living at "the river condo", “
I think it's this building that you're talking about,
he is welcome if he want to come.
@@liste86a you like it? I hear it’s more on the upper end of condos.
@@BirdDog.
yes the building is nice, the condo too, I pay around 3000 usd / month for a 150 sqm (2BR + 1 working room)
Thanks for the video Chris I was wondering is it cheaper to book a condo for one month if your holidays and is it possible
yes it's possible. i'll do a video about that one day.
sir, since u supported STV, could u tell us chinese visitor not applying stv yet, whereas thai govt said, they will arrive 25
Good morning!
Be advised that for an unknown reason it's very difficult to contact Nan or the agency at the given contacts below.
Are there any other options regarding the same?
Thank you.
Very cool !
What’s kind of camera you use for filming ?
Thanks in advance
Is internet included in the condo price or is that also extra? Another question I have is do you have to hang dry your clothes on the balcony or do they have an area to dry your clothes
internet is extra.
Internet/ basic tv package with True is around 900 baht a month and up if you want film channels, etc . As for drying it's normal for balcony drying when its 30 degrees plus most of the year so just invest in a good airer to fit on your balcony
Thank you Chris today's video was very useful 😊
Very very nice videos. Keep them coming.
thanks!
Whenever their are beautiful girls in an agency and the agency is in a nice office, there are charging large commissions which increases the price of your rent
@califood3618 Cheaper place
Well worth it
It's a good thing there were no beautiful girls at this agency.
How did you manage to get the STV visa?
Thank you for an insightful video! Hoping to visit Thailand next summer.
Thank you.
Do you know if Nan is still in business? The 2 websites you list in your description above don't work.
Nice vids.
Would these type of furnished condos be suitable for snow birds, say a 3 month rental?
I agree with @HaYaTo, your voice is easy to listening and understanding English) From Thailand Fan Club.
You're doing a great job. Bravo!
Thank you! 😃
There so many choices, It up to customer to choose.
@@bigboydiamonds6218 Yes, but a lot of foreign customers don't seem to know you can get some really amazing deals.
