Very useful video... I have one question... If I'm using an external disk to do this but this disk already has a backup from another MacBook, creating a new image will rewrite the other data or it will do an additional file? Also would this help me in the issue about El Capitan OS X "system verify or repair failed"??
+Michael Herz D' Millán If you notess at 2:53 i have other files on disk. Only Rewrite if you first erase or create only one partition on the drive. Other option could be with sparse bundle th-cam.com/video/GPgnqDBWLN4/w-d-xo.htmlm1s ,and this was just a backup or clone video tutorial, not a system repair utility.
Hi! When trying to create my OS X backup, a message tell me that the boot disk cannot be use as for restoring the image created (error 254) ... Any help?
Thank you!
Jaomart Have to be a different disk rather the one that boot's the native OS.
If I crsate a disk image from a Mac with OS X 10.8, and update it later, will I be able to reinstall the OS X 10.8 with this disc image?
Well, yes, it will install the Disk image MacOS xx_version.
Thank you :)
Is time machine enough for clonning?
how do you use the backup though
This voice for straight talk 🙈
Perfect thank you
You're welcome!
I accidentaly deleted the Mach_Kernel file, so now I'm trying to reinstall my system after a backup.
It's taking forever to create a 500GB Image... So if I do the second option on the video, will my files be secured?
Thanks.
I like your slogan "Save $$". But we shouldn;t ignore some best deals like cloning 3 Mac machines at just $45 with Stellar Drive Clone. This tool clones HDD to another media, volume to network volumes, bootable DVD & Image the corrupt drive.
Hi, your video was very helpful. I have a question, I am trying to avoid not having to drag files that I downloaded to the external hard drive. I basically want it to automatically be download in the external hard drive it self. However, I don't know how to do that. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you (:
fandrama If you download files from e.g safari, go to Preferences/Gerneral tab/ Save downloaded file to/ your external drive
Thank you very much learn share I appreciated your help. (:
