I’m 63 years young and my mom tried to teach me to crochet through my childhood and as an adult. She made baby blankets and made the most gorgeous doilies. I wish I’d stuck with it over the hard learning times, and am so happy to have found your channel because I believe that I can follow your tutorials this winter to finally be successful with a project.

I was about 12 years old. I absolutely loved it. Cotton crochet and numerous blankets. Later got married after high school and had my children and during this time no I never picked up a crochet hook. I learnt using all the British terms of crochet so I kind of get confused with the American terminology. Since retiring I’ve started crocheting again, albeit that I’m rusty. I’m absolutely loving it. It’s so therapeutic. I learn better from the video tutorials. The written patterns I can get confused or stuck with the terminology.
I am loving this pattern. I’m a beginner to crocheting but the way you so us how to make this blanket is easy to follow, so think you so much for that. 😊

I thought it was a bit too fast for a beginner video & the angles of view made it hard to really see, but for experienced folks, it was nice. I love this stitch. It takes a bit of practice on the ends of each row, but it is soooo pretty. I tried it for a dishcloth. It works nicely. I must say, your home & your smile are beautiful. Also, I think this stitch will be a favorite for a long time.

Hello, if I've followed the 123 chain project how many complete stars should i have? I've got 59 with the half on the end. Is that right? I seem to be making a mistake somewhere and losing my half star 🥺 not quite sure where I'm making a mistake 🤔
To anyone getting frustrated: I did too! I got really mad and wanted to give up when mine didn’t look like hers. They have been doing this awhile, this is ur first! And don’t worry, it will be okay in the end. Just walk away or distract yourself. You’ve got this! I’m not done w mine, already made mistake after mistake. I’ll update how it turned out!
Sometimes it does take a do-over or two :( But it's all part of the learning process. Once you get the hang of it, it gets so much easier. Trust me, I've had to undo a few projects myself. You can do this!
I'm extremely new to Crochet. It's probably something simple, but I don't understand when you say, " working in multiples of 2 to get to 10 and adding 3 for the 13." You are an excellent teacher, though! 😊
Thank you so much and that is a great question! The pattern can be changed to a different size if you like. So if you want to make the blanket larger or smaller you would just create your starting chain with an even number (multiples of 2) and when you have the size you like, add 3 more chains :) I hope that helps.
I've seen the star stitch before, but just never tried making it. It is a lovely stitch and think I will try making a blanket to snuggle under while watching tv during the Winter months.
I just finished this blanket a half hour ago, and it is a gift - it was so easy and fun to work up! Also, it sure did keep me warm as I was getting it done! ♥️. I used Lion Brand Hometown yarn in Tampa Spice with a 9mm hook. 11.5 10oz skeins. I added three rows of star stitches and did two rounds of half double crochet for the border. I didn’t do the scalloped detail. It took a little less than two weeks. Thank you!
I really like how you explain the steps slowly and clearly. Ive watched this star stitch on a few other channels but either the videos weren't clear enough or the verbal directions were confusing. Im glad I didnt give up and found this vodeo because now Im confident I can make this stitch. Thanks❤
