Who doesn’t like a project you don’t need to sew ends!!!!
This is gorgeous and I ❤️ the colour combo!
One thing I’ve found with this design is that if you start colour B from the opposite end of your row rather than joining it to colour A when you finish the row, you can just carry both colours up the sides without having to cut & rejoin them every time. If you make a border around the edge, you can ‘swallow’ the ‘carry ups’ into the border.
I was wondering if that would work! Thank you!
Forgive my ignorance, as I really want to do this idea. So your first row is color A, from right to left. Row 2, start Color B from right to left. At the end of row 2, draw up color A to finish last stitch. Turn your work and drop color B. Row 3 is all color A. But when I’m ready to change color to B at the end of the row, my working color B is at the other end? What am I doing wrong?
@@JazzyJudeYou can do it like this:
Row 1, Color A: right to left
Row 2, Color B: also right to left
Row 3, Color A: left to right
Row 4, Color B: also left to right
So basically you aren’t turning your work after the Color A rows. You will be starting your Color B on the same side that you started your Color A. Hope that makes sense!
Thank you, that's a great idea
@@JazzyJude it doesn’t really matter which end you start or finish. What I do is when I get to the end of the row with either colour, I just pull the last stitch into a long loop to prevent it unravelling whilst I am working with the other colour.
When I get to the end of the colour A row, I do an extended double crochet into the top of the last stitch of the previous colour A row - yarn over, push the hook into the top of the last stitch, pull through one, pull through two, pull through two, & that seems to be tall enough to give a firm but slightly stretchy edge.
When I get to the end of the colour B row, I pull the last stitch into a big loop to protect it from unraveling. On starting the colour B row, I pull the loop back down to size & pull it through the space between the last stitch I’ve just made in colour A & the first 3 dc group, & then pull through once, & then make two chain & carry on as normal with colour B.
I hope that makes sense. It’s so much easier to show than explain……
I’ve been changing my colour B every 2 rows so I just end the colour I’m using by cutting, leaving a tail & pulling it through the last loop. I then just start with a new colour for the next colour B row.
I am a very new newbie & I was scouring YT 4 tutorials as I believe projects gets me more motivated. Got "hooked" on this when I saw my Aunt crochet beenies as I wear alot of them. She taught me the basic chains & It got me interested even more. As a guy musician/artist, this is out of my realm but I am empowered 2 really learn this craft. When I saw how clear & concise ur tutorials R, I had 2 quickly SUB & have 2 look at ur archive 2 see what a rookie- newbie like me can get started on. Thank U 4 ur channel!
Thank you so much for watching!
yay! glad more guys are finding crochet fun and interesting. welcome to the crowd!
suggestion: don't give up, just switch stitches or projects if you get frustrated while learning. it's so much fun!
I started this pattern last night and im having a blast! Thanks for your tutorial ❤❤
That’s lovely. One little tip. When you are twisting the strands for the fringe, twist each set of three strands in the opposite direction to the twist as you wrap, & that will keep the twist in place, otherwise it will tend to untwist considerably when you release it after knotting it.
That is:a great tip, Thank You!
Great tip! I kinda like the look of the looser twist, but will definitely give that a try on my next one.
I’m new to twisting. I’m confused what you’re saying. Are you saying to alternate twisting the opposite direction after completing the previous twist? Sorry for being so ignorant.
@@JazzyJude this video uses plant fibres but the principle is the same. He has done it the other way around - generally yarn is already twisted & you over twist it in the direction it’s already twisted, but the principle is the same. I’ve seen a better video but haven’t a clue where. If I find it I will link it.

This is a beautiful (and easy!) pattern! I love the contrasting color that makes it look like each group of double crochet is a separate tiny block. So many possibilities of colors to use! Thank you for sharing and for the directions that are so easy to follow! 👌👏👍💕💕💕
You are so welcome!
This is a gorgeous throw and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors!!! Thank you so much for sharing this video. I appreciate you and your beautiful work. I can’t wait to start this!❤️
I bought the yarn to make this within 2 minutes of seeing the tutorial...its gorgeous. Thats my summer holiday project sorted!
were uou teleporting to hobby lobby 😅
@@Nezumi_Yasu 🤣 the wonders of online shopping
You could in theory make every single blok out of a bit of scrap yarn someone has left which could either look hideous or very cool
This is a good idea. You could try to color coordinate your scraps in a rainbow, or gradients, or just totally randomize them! 💜
This stitch makes a beautiful blanket! I love the colors you used! Thank you for sharing!
Can’t wait to do this. ❤ thank you
Such a great tutorial... I'm experienced with crochet, I like to think I'm an Ole pro😂. I had gotten the notification that you had a new video and I saved it to watch for today. Omg I'm so glad I did... I needed this blanket in my life. I think this is a good mental break type protect that will come out stunning... Thank you so much for this video!!!
This just made my day! Thank you so much. I hope you love making this one.
@@MeghanMakesDo I've gotten maybe 20 rows done so far.. I friggin love it so much!!!
Great tutorial
For the tassels they will be tighter if you spin the ends in the opposite direction that you twist them together.
Thanks for the tip!
È meravigliosa...delicatissima! Tu poi sento che sei accurata nella spiegazione, abche de dono italiana. E si capisce bene lo stesso. Grazie ❤
I have used this stitch on baby blankets before in solid colors. Wow! It is so much prettier with this wash of color through it. Love it! TYSM
I love your Magnus throw! I thought for a minute it was Madness throw. 😂 This is a great tutorial. I didn't have any problem seeing where you put your stitches with the Scarfie Lite. What pretty yarn and colors! I have done double crochet foundation row before, and always have problems with it. You made it look easy and so doable! I REALLY appreciate your alternative to weaving in ends. It'll take a lot of wear for these ends to come undone, if ever! Great tutorial, and great pattern!! Thank you 😊
So glad you found it helpful!
Thank you Megan will be checking out and adding this to my project list ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊
This is soooooo pretty!!!! I love the yarn choices. I honestly wouldn’t have thought to make a blanket with scarfie light. I I look forward to making this!
Thank you for your lovelly blanket tutorial it's gorgeous.
So clever
I’ve done this pattern so many time with a single colour and no fringe so really want to try this! It looks interesting as the different colour really sets off the blocks👍🏻
It's gorgeous!!!
I'm just starting to learning mosaic crochet and this looks like an awesome way to finish it since at the end of each row, you cut your yarn! 😊
This looks likeca fun pattern. I'm definitely going to make this. Thank you for the tutorial.
Pretty
I love the look of this and your creative way of making the tassels! I WILL get up the nerve to make it, as I love cozy throws.
You can do it!
I've been working on a blanket very similar to this one. I love the tassles! Thanks for this idea. Weaving in all those ends is a bit daunting.
You are so welcome!
What a gorgeous blanket! I think this might be a little advanced for my skills, but your excellent instructions are making me think I can do it!!!
Just got my kit today - I need to finish my current project but I am SO excited to make this throw!!!!💗
Yay! Thank you. Hope you love it.
Love this! I’m going to adapt to a set of place mats! Even your swatch was inspirational
Place martinis a great idea for this one! Thanks for that.
Next project. Love it.
this is really pretty!
Well done!👏👏👏👏👏👏

Sehr hübsch. Aber sehr viel Arbeit. 😊
Nice thank you 😊
Hello! New subscriber here! I'm a beginner to crocheting. I love your clear tutorials! This is a beautiful throw! The tutorial is easy to follow, and I could see what you were doing clearly! I'm torn whether to make this blanket for my next project or your Livy throw! But for sure, I will be making both at some point! Thank you!
Awesome! So glad you are enjoying the tutorials.
Gorgeous .. ✌🏻🩷🌷🌿
Thank you! 😊
I really like this and I am going to try it thank you ❤❤
Wonderful!
That is an easy and lovely pattern, I love the yarn and colorway
Thank you, Meghan ✨️ 💖 ✨️
nice
I didn’t have any trouble seeing with the fluffy yarn. But for those that did or maybe don’t like using that yarn, what could you substitute it with? Could you use another color of the wool ease?
Hello my name is JoAnn,I'm a new subscriber, nice to meet you.
Yes thank you for great tips
You are so welcome!
Thank you Megan for the tutorial. I've bought yarn and pattern, just one question, which color should be used for the gauge block calculation? Color A Scarfie Lite yard or Color B Wool-ease yarn? Thank you😅😅
Very beautiful! How many yarn do you need for this? Thank you😊
I wish I could buy the scarfie lite yarn in Australia
I'll try to see if there is something similar from another brand.
Thank you so much….thats sweet of you 🙏🏻❤️
TFS, very clear instructions, I’m inspired to start! May I ask what size blanket the total of ten skeins makes? Thanks in advance 😊
I was wondering the same, I can’t find a finished size.
The finished size is approx 45" X 60" not including the fringe.
How much yarn is needed for both colors? Sorry if I missed it! Thank you!
I think your design is very pretty. I don’t normally comment on brands of yarn, but you might want to seriously reconsider using wool ease for any future projects. I’m very careful with my projects that I make just like anyone would, it’s just that this particular type of yarn separated. The wool became separate from the rest of the yarn. All that work that I put into it and it was ruined. Actually this was the catalyst for change. I now only use certain types of yarn and my projects have been a much higher quality. Please don’t think I’m suggesting your projects are not. I’m only throwing this out as a caution so you don’t experience what I did. ❤❤❤
I started this throw today and am finding I have some tension issues with the different weight yarns. My windowpanes are not nearly as tight and compact as yours. 😢 Any tips?
Saw your comment and had to respond... It looks like the scarfie is a little thinner. Maybe go down half a hook size just for the scarfie? I'd do a test swatch. 😉
@@dianabulaga5599just saw your comment, thanks for the reply! I tried several different combinations of hook sizes and had issues every time. I almost wonder if the particular skein of Scarfie I'm using is extra thin. I finally came to a solution that worked well and saved my sanity...this project was nearly becoming the death of me but I was determined. 😂 I decided to start my foundation chain with the Wool Ease instead of the Scarfie and it totally turned things around for the better. The Scarfie is just so flimsy and stretchy. Once I had that more solid foundation row, I've been able to use the same hook size throughout. 🙌🏼
with it being that long of a tail, I'd feel better if I macramé some design with it.
That would look great too!

Wow that's very complicated to understand.
I really like the verbal descriptions you gave, but man that scarfie lite is TERRIBLE for these tutorials. It's way too fluffy, and makes it hard to actually see your stitches on camera so I can follow along. That makes doing the basic foundation chain much more difficult if you don't already know what to do. Maybe next 'easy' tutorial, use something a little less fluffy. If it's a tutorial that claims to be easy, you're gonna get a lot of new crocheters (like myself) who reaallly need to *see* as well as hear!
I have found that by watching foreign and zero speech videos, I have learned far more, and a lot quicker, simply by using my eyes and my thinking organ to figure why and when things are worked out. It makes so much more of an impression you just wouldn't believe it until you try it.
I have never seen the foundation stitch before and i had no problem figuring it out. She explains it so clearly
Hey there, something labeled easy doesn't always mean beginner. The scarfie lite is a bit fluffy, but I always try to make my tutorials using the same yarn as the pattern so you can see exactly what it will look like when making it. If you do a quick search for foundation stitches there are many videos available from other creators. I'll also add making one to my list of videos to make too.
Many complain about brushed yarn mostly because they are new crocheters I LOVE THE YARN and have no problems only when I was A NEWBIE your video is just PERFECT THANKYOU❤️👏🥰
it's not hard to search a foundation stitch tutorial that works for your learning style😂
