    Hi Josh. Please definitely do an episode on “rare pedals that aren’t rare”. It would be great to see and know what has been over-inflated due to hype instead of rarity. Am aware that the Klon isn’t as rare as you think but you have things like the KOT which is largely due to the queue…

    Important tip for buying vintage pedals: do NOT buy a pedal right after Josh makes a video about it. Wait at least 6 months. Even better, go back in time and buy it the day before Josh's video.

    My problem with Reverb are all of the parts you find instead of an actual full product. You'll look up a guitar and 90% of the results will be pickguard designs that haven't even been produced. The filters are alright, but a lot of these part sellers ignore them.

    Maybe it’s a tired, sore, or off-topic topic, but thoughts on this year’s tax law requiring that Reverb issue 1099s for sales over 600 bucks would be of great interest. It has certainly given me pause from doing much selling on Reverb this year. Yes, buying is great, but selling old stuff is equally important to facilitate buying!

    • @fortheloveofnoise
      @fortheloveofnoise 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It stopped me from selling, I can tell you that much. Done a lot more Craigslist sales because of it. Gonna start selling more of the pedals I mod in pedal stores instead of online because of it. Reverb is fighting to get used gear exempt from the rulling, but it is an uphill battle. It is definitely going to cause Reverb to lose sellers.

    I would love to hear a discussion through your process for creating a new pedal product. For example: the new octave reverb, how did you decide to do it, what was the process for coming up with the algorithm, why a 3 series vs a regular pedal. I think it would be cool.

    I'm 42 years old and bought my second DoD Grunge fx69b in 1998 with the updated thicker pedal of course the first one was a fx69 original and the weak pedal got stomped out 😆 What is the difference between the tone of a digitech grunge and a DoD? Both probably vintage by now ✌

    🇩🇪 In Germany you pay double if you buy on Reverb (vs. eBay etc.)
    I think many German the hardcore pedal snobs don’t even know about that banality. 🙈🙉
    Unfortunately we are a very obedient nation willing to pay anything.
    There are so many ways to get vintage pedals cheap(er). I can’t believe some people throw away thousands of Euros for stuff that you can obtain so much cheaper if you know how and where to look.

    Hey Josh, Love these Monday talks. Keep em goin. On the subject it was a bummer weekend collecting for me. A TS-10 with box and everything came up on Facebook in my area (DC area) for $80. I shot the lady over the $80 on Cashapp to secure the pedal and then it disappeared off Facebook and 30 hrs later no replies back from “her”. Now im in process of trying to get my money back and changing my cashapp card number. When i went back and looked it was a Facebook account with no friends. I was so excited to get a TS-10 for $80 i did not do good due diligence. I guess if its too good to be true it is. 😢

    Hey Josh! I had no idea you were in Chattanooga. Btw, I really think you should do a show on Arion pedals. They were a pretty important part of the early budget/ clone pedal market, and it's time they got their due praise. My first pedals ever were an Arion Metal Master and SCH-1 Stereo Chorus, and I still use them regularly. Just a suggestion.

    My first experience with Reverb wasn’t good. I bought red strat knobs advertised as suitable for American strats. However they were actually knobs for smaller potentiometers. Reverb didn’t recognize the issue with the seller and only offered a discount for future orders. Now I prefer Sweetwater, Stewmac for new stuff, and Mercado Livre (kind of an Ebay) for vintage stuff. I get vintage Boss pedals for more affordable prices than Ebay and Reverb.

    Please accept this challenge. You have 83 pedals listed on sweetwater, almost 20 of which are your generic white ones. I have to believe that among those 83 is a very good pedal board. Here’s the challenge: Let’s say Jimmy Page was someone’s favorite guitarist. Imagine a pedal board with nothing but JHS pedals that when you arrange them the artwork on the pedals form a dragon. Pedal board as actual art. Or just stay with those white things.

    "vintage" is a marketing term. In the 80s, I remember pawn shops filled with analog synths - minimoogs, oberheims, korgs, yamahas, rolands - that today command many $1000s of dollars. Back in the 80s, everyone called it junk, NOT vintage, dumped it all to buy DX7s, D50s, and M1s.

    • @nonahyobusiness8063
      @nonahyobusiness8063 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      People also called Electro-Harmonix junk, too. Guitarists didn;t want to be seen using EH. :)
