I really loved the ending. Yes Kylian did horrible things, but so did Glenn both in his current life and past ones. But when Glenn realizes he has the gift of knowledge of his Echo and learns that he's spent several cycles trying to make things better and finally succeeds this time, he chooses to pass that gift on to Kylian after seeing that he truly wants to change the world for the better.
The only real things he did bad was the first time he destroyed the grimoire and killing Lenn In the previous life. Though that first time he didn't know what the Grimoire did and like Present Lenne said , if past Lenne just let things be Timothy or her wouldn't have died.
I was so frustrated when the vaen launched the "end of the world attack" and i thought i was done for..even the game over music started playing, only for Kylian to revive me
I was glad but damn did that give me anxiety
The story at its core was about forgiveness, Glenn can understand what Kylian was feeling
Like using multiple characters but Glenn sienne the bard and the spear girl were too powerful💀

I used Glenn, Sienna, Victor and Amalia
Mikah was OP for.me
My team was:
Victor-buffs and healing
Glenn-debuffing the boss
Mikah-nuking the boss
Tomke-applying Shield and Aura+some other of his support skills
I'm very conflicted on the ending just beat it about an hour ago. I like reading how others interpreted it.
Very good ending,but I'm not happy because gleen prefers to give the power that gwayn gave to kylian that damn person,but i hope he comes back in the next story and takes the of the true kings

Bruh, it makes sense with the story if you analyse kylian's motivation, yes shure kylian did bad things and he have good intention for the bad reason but he is willing to change, same with Gleen
@@LICOnlineteachi love him, fantastic character and it makes sense, yes he did betray them at one point (but failed tbh, couldn't hold hostage neither used the grimmoire).
It fits the theme that one life of regrets and mistakes doesn't mean the person wont try to do better, even if the sins doesn't disappear.

Why are so many people complaining about the ending?
It was one of the best of the last years in videogames.
A good plot twist and bittersweet ending for some characters, but happy with others.
It basically just boils down to something like this:
Glenn, who has been reincarnated numerous times and is so sad about it, that he decides to give his fated responsibility of immortality and ultimate power to protect the world to Kylian, who has basically doubled down on being a nihilistic douche the whole game and we had to kill twice. So now we trust Kylian finally had a change of heart because he got beat down so much and felt bad? Meanwhile, Glenn, who is ostensibly sick of sad goodbyes, doesn't say peace out to everyone else and just dies to be reborn as a bird, I guess??
Obviously, the ending was meant to be poetic somehow, but it instead ends up being a thematically muddled mess. It's almost like it's saying that human life is too difficult for kind and compassionate people who care for others and have to lose them, so it's probably just better to be reborn as bird while giving up your responsibilities to a selfish prick instead.
Also, who exactly is the "Masked Man" that showed up in front of Ba'thraz and Amalia?
I think some people can't fathom when a character is tired of suffering and guilt.
This kind of problem reminds me of people hating Cloud Strife on Advent Children for being depressed, and Eren during Attack on Titan ending.
Basically people hate protagonists for showing their emotions; they think it's irrational.
I find it weird that these people are policing how people should feel though; it's as if every human should do the right thing no matter what they are feeling.
When I see for first time this game, I knownI wanna play it, after finished 6 months ago I not regret about played a wonderful game!
The ending was the best for the story imo. It's not good ending but so the life is. In the end the whole theme of the story is about the acceptance which is touching but not in a perfect way.
I honestly want to look Lenne together with Glenn. But what makes me frustrated the most is that Crimson Wing crew disbanded after the final boss. I was hoping for the super wholesome ending like Persona 4. But hey, at least this ending is quite enlightening!
Bathraz absolutely nuked this boss. After all break from glenn and heroes ode from Victor I used heaven or hell> summon attack with 3 weapons on and done nearly 30k damage. Fight was over 😂😂
Not gonna lie, I hate when games kill the main character just when he starts to get interesting, I know why fiction does this, especially in games, Glenn's developmental arc is complete while kylian's is just starting so it makes much more sence for him to be a possible protagonist for a potential dlc or a likely sequel
Other than that, this game got better and better the further I got into it, the pacing got better and better, the story got more and more intriguing, every character has a motivation behind them which makes them super interesting, I thought I would never use Victor, because I generally don't like the bard character in rpgs, but his back story is so good, his motives for doing what he is doing are so good, the world building and foreshadowing in this game are phenomenal as well, hearing the existence of curses as soon as ba'thraz is introduced, not knowing what it really is, but eventually getting that pay off around the middle of act 2
The combat system is pretty fun, eventually I found a universal strategy for on foot combat, I find that elemental weaknesses can be mostly ignored and I just buffed the hell out of Glenn and Siena and made them be the main damage dealers while Victor and Amalia buff and heal, however, sky armor combat is much more interesting, being a tight balance of tp management with you needing to stay inside the overdrive sweetspot and a lot of the sky armor bosses I found myself struggling to maintain that balance, which resulted in the last turns of the battles being a race to who could kill who faster while I was overheating
And the ost, not a lot of games can make me whistle very often, but this game joins the greats, osts like the xenoblade series, zelda, Mario, games that have great osts that just make you jam to the beat and this ost of the final boss "those who resist destiny" stood out, it feels like the final battle of epic proportions that it should and for a turned base 2d rpg that sometimes can lose a bit of the impact a sprite can represent, this boss music makes it clear that the vaen can and will end the world if you don't stop them
All around, this was an amazing game, the twists were great, I loved act 3 and 4 the most, but I'm a sucker for the moment where every hanging thread in the story starts to unravel and you can start to understand everything that seemed confusing, most people hate that about rpgs but I live for these moments and this game executed them perfectly, Mathias Linda created a great game here and I can't wait to see what's next in the world of eldrea and in what form will it come in

This game has a difficult settings that are insane. It's not normal. It pass form been a good game to being a bad game
Just finished the game and I was watching the end like on 27:50 and my pc just rebooted out of nowhere! F*** this! So I googled the end to watch it before I take courage to kill kylian and the Vaen again lol.
My team was Glenn. Sienna. Lenne and Mikah, just switched to Rob for poison and Amalia for Healing. Lenne´s "third eye" + "heaven´s tear was just super powerfull it was taking like 3k+ at minimum.
This was just a fun game, I'm 50 hours+ and didn't do everything.
One of those games to stay in our memories.

My highest hp character barely had 400.

i like the game so much but when i saw the ending i didn't feel like to even give not more than 3 star. Glenn was so young he has a long journey ahead but its the opposite lol Kylian was aged dude he has a long journey ahead just doesn't make any sense. i am truly disappointed with the ending for real. it was a hard battle for me but yours look kinda easy to me thou. BTW liked your video, will watch videos in future.
