Great video! All that I have been doing is engaging the 4x4 then going back to the Auto 4x4 and that usually disables it for the time being. This is a great idea to disengage the system when the weather is good and there really is no need for the 4x4. @Gonzo Buddy is it a problem that's its jsut disabling the transfer case though? What I mean is, since everything is mechanically connected is the same level of wear and tear going to happen with the 4x4 auto engaged if it doesnt kick into 4x4?
@Gonzo Buddy i see what your saying. That all makes sense. If it's all mechanically connected then disabling the transfer case won't put it into a true 2wd. So let me ask you this. I have a 2002 explorer 4.6l v8. When I'm in auto 4x4 it acts likes it's always giving power to the front wheels. It's my understanding that it should only give power to the front when needed. Removing the four wheel drive fuse does the same thing - leaves the 4x4 clutch in the transfer case disengaged all the time. You will have to replace fuse for four wheel drive.

Nathan Rohrbough I'm not sure how the whole traction control system works with AWD. I want to think it turns it completely off but then again not sure.
The traction button does just that it turns off your advance track which just kills engine power when it detects wheel spin in any mode you're in whether its auto 4x4 or 4x4 high etc. If you try drifting around a curve and the traction control is on it'll kill all engine power in mid drift which happened to me once and it almost threw me off into the ditch.. turn off traction and auto 4x4 will still engage but you'll have full power to the wheels

Nathan, I wish you would up load more often. It's Thursday night and I'm watching some 20 y/o gal living out of her van for entertainment. The world has gone to hell, since Tom Selleck took over as PC of New York.
Hopefully soon some videos. Starting on the Trailblazer soon. Found some things that need fixed ;)
Guys do not do this you are actually mess your vehicle up your vehicle is not all wheel drive it is 2wd rear okay it has abs traction slip on it you not want to mess with that you will burn your PCM up because the sensor for it's slipping will try to engage it it will keep trying to engage it burning the chip up in your computer causing you more money it is actually better for it to kick in the front tires if the rear is slipping I have seen so many people do this I work in a body shop or I have seen this in a torta guys that you do not want to do that and then went asking me explaining to them why not then they go say can you repair it and fix it
These explorers are 4x4 not 2WD ones the auto 4x4 affects the transfer case.
How can you explain the 2005 ? It comes with the button to activate it on or off.

Sounds more annoying to turn it off...why wouldn't you want the front to kick on if the back is spinning???
It doesn't have AWD it has auto 4x4 completely different animals.
Your right! My Mountaineer had AWD.
That's a neat MOD! Didn't realize that could be done teacher, until I saw you get it done in this film, that's why you are master at this point, and I am the grasshopper😉🏯
So you’re telling me I can do burnouts?
i searched for Gmod tutorials...
Says not going to make this video long then talks about a switch for 15 min.
C'mon buddy get to the point I am sitting on the side of the Rd because 4wheel keeps kicking in whenever I hit a bumb and the only gear that works is 4wheel low it is a real pain in the asstrohole to get it back in regular gear. The cylonoined is not engaging properly. ...
Ugg thought the video was over...... nope back to the switch again. 😊😂😮
👀👍👍
Would this work on a 02 explorer xlt?
