    Thank you for creating this video, I’m a single mom and my explorer had no heat. I bought this part at auto zone for $34 and installed it myself. You saved me some stress and money 🎉 thanks again!

    Thanks! How in the heck do you get that top screw in or out? I had to remove 6-in of dash to get to it. Then I just left it off when re-assembling. Tried and tried but gave up. But.... it works! Thanks!

    • @vivian5517

      @@thehistoricalrewind9677 I almost did 🤣 I think that’s the part that takes the longest is trying to get it out. I had to maneuver so many different ways. I think essentially what I did if I remember correctly, I tilted it farther in so I could situate it better to get it out. I know it’s been a couple weeks since you posted this, we’re you able to get it?

    if your ford explorer is a little different, your lever might be on the bottom panel and you either have a little plastic arm like i have, or you have a spot where you can put a torx driver in and adjust it. i have a ford explorer 2006 here's a video here showing where it is th-cam.com/video/sly6G30XRTw/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ricksterq

    Does anyone know if this issue will affect the a/c and the heat? I definitely have the blend door issue but also my ac does not get cold after recharging it. Could that also be from the blend door failure??

    Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it should also do it. Correct?

    • @AbnormalGarage
      @AbnormalGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the teeth on the gears inside the actuator that open and close the blend door are broken. That’s why it constantly makes a clicking sound.

      If you saw the part where he pulled it apart, these was a little gear that was missing teeth. So no, resetting it wouldn’t fix it

    can this also make your car run hot?

    • @tcarney57
      @tcarney57 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mean make your engine run hot? No. There's no relationship between the actuator and engine heat, except to the extent that having heat on in the cabin draws heat from the engine. If anything, then, it would theoretically make the engine cooler. Air conditioning, though, gets its compressor power from the engine which could make it run hotter, and the air-conditioning system dumps the cabin heat it removes in front of the engine's radiator making it--theoretically--run hotter.
