    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  ปีที่แล้ว

      These cups didn't seem to have a problem with the bit of grade to the sides. They engraved fine. If something has a bit more of a taper to it you can level it by using the roller instead of the chuck.

    Genuinely curious, if the laser puts the image on the cup exactly how you see it on the screen why do you have to mirrior it. Wouldn't it just go on correctly?

    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have the rotary facing you, so that you can read the word XTOOL correctly, then you don't have to mirror. I had mine set up backward due to my layout on my table. If you turn the rotary around you don't need to mirror. I should make another video to clarify! Thanks for watching!

    My chuck attachment and the software don't agree. I put in the measurements and it defaults to other measurements immediately after putting measurements in. Any advice? Is the chuck and roller the same gear ratio? I'm not the only one with this issue and I have done all the updates

      It depends on the design. Just a name like these were about 20 minutes each.

    The rotary tool is backwards that is why you have to mirror the image.

    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I know. :) I wasn't clear in the video as to why it's backward. It's the way I have my table set up. But I'll explain it better in a future video. Thanks for watching!

    Your RA2 should be the other way around , that’s why you have to mirror more often than you should need to

  • @stacyr8160

    If you flip your rotary attachment 180 degrees (so the word XTOOL can be read right side up instead of upside down), you won't need to mirror your design.

    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stacy! Yes I know. :) I didn't clarify that in the video but I had it set that way due to my overall set up. I'm moving into a new shop this month so I'll be changing it now. Thanks for watching and letting me know though! It's always great to learn from others in the laser community. :)

    The rotary is facing the wrong direction which is why the image is wrong. The fat side should face the top of the xtool.

    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll have to try that. I've seen others with it laid out the way I ran mine.

  • @joeyleerobbins

    The Xtool name on the RA2 should be facing you instead up upside down.... you got it facing the wrong way so you are having to mirror your images...

    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I know. You're right! If the words are facing you then you don't need to mirror the design. :) The way my machine and supplies are on my workbench it's easier for me to do facing this way.

    • @joeyleerobbins
      @joeyleerobbins ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DustyBlueCottage Yes ma'am. I meant no offense. I just got the XTool D1 Pro 20W for Christmas and am learning to use it! I am by no means an expert...lol! Thank you for this video it has some great info! Take care!

    Turn your rotary around and you don't need to mirror your image

    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I know that would fix the mirroring issue. I had my machine set up this way for a while but I will have to do an updated video to clarify this! Thank you for watching!

    Only reason u needing to mirror it is cause ur RA2 is put together wrong lol

    • @DustyBlueCottage
      @DustyBlueCottage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it's not put together wrong, I have it set up backward in the machine due to my table set up. If the rotary is placed so that the word XTOOL can be read properly then you don't need to mirror the image. Thanks for watching!

    • @Birch-and-Maine
      @Birch-and-Maine ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s put together in one of its intended configurations. I’m guessing that you either don’t have an RA2, or didn’t bother to read through the reference material it comes with. This is one of the most versatile rotary systems on the market. She knows what she’s doing. I’m sure you can find something more productive to do with your time than making blatantly ignorant comments to content creators on TH-cam. Don’t be that guy.

    • @wv8404
      @wv8404 ปีที่แล้ว

      @charlesxavier7146 don't be that guy? I've got 3 of these lol and never had issue or had to mirror anything. But hey I'm ignorant lol have good one buddy

    • @Birch-and-Maine
      @Birch-and-Maine ปีที่แล้ว

      Quantity makes no difference if you don’t read the reference material. I know instructions can be difficult for some users, so xtool was nice enough to include neat little pictures. I use this configuration with all of mine on a regular basis, as do many users, especially for glass with handles or pieces that are large enough to contact the base plate (that is what xtool recommends after all). Maybe the manufacturer, and the rest of us are wrong, but I wouldn’t count on it. She has to mirror, not because it is “put together wrong” but because she has to place it in the workspace backwards, which you can clearly see in the video. Not to worry though, there is a myriad of apps, and programs out there to help you develop spatial reasoning.

      Thank you, I do know that now. :) When I first started with the chuck my table was positioned where I could put a weight on that side to hold the chuck so it kept it steady. I need to do another tumbler tutorial and I'll make sure to mention that! Thanks so much for watching!
