Now this some quality Armored Core content. Seeing people take advantage of the customization and play styles, I love this because you can see how much you improve with your movements with each mission, I'm looking forward to AC6 content.
Fun Fact - In Armored Core: Master of Arena air blading is one of the most viable strategies for the near-perfect late game arena combatants. When at a 45 degree angle from another mech in the air you completely reorient yourself midair towards them, and if it lands it can do 3-4x the damage. A light build with good boosters and a single laser blade was the only way I could make it through the final arenas.
Old-school Raven reporting in. I did this challenge about 20 years ago, before recording and streaming were a thing. It's good to see the kids appreciating the classics. I recommend you play Master of Arena next. For Answer is probably the best of the new-gen games, but AC1 and MoA are my favorites in the series.
17:36 that move is one of the most powerful in early AC. It's especially good if you can pull it off right as you take off the ground (tap X while boosting on ground), since you only get that target assist if you melee while airborne - you jump straight into their face and it's almost impossible to avoid. I could never do it consistently though 😄
The main thing I've noticed about armored core is how playing through all these games usually means that you end up an Armored Core god. And like, yeah, playing through every game in a series makes you good at those games, but it's just really interesting to me just how consistently true that is.
I loved this video. I really enjoyed seeing your ingenuity in finding solutions to the missions given then restrictions. The humor was also on point. I would love to see more long form content on other armored core games.
Me and my coworker wanted to say we love your videos and watch them whenever we are in the office on loop. We are both (im)patiently waiting for any new uploads. Keep up the awesome work.
Love this video. I played Armored Core 1 a few months ago and it really surprised me, it holds up extremely well. It helps to already be used to King's Field controls though, haha. And this challenge run looked really fun, I may have to give it a try!
40:49 my favorite AC ever. Has no right hand, its MGA1 model weapon is off center and fires pulses. Its so wonderfully jank. Its also taller than a regular AC.
I ***JUST*** happened to start up this game 1st time ever 2 nights ago (as part of a grand tour of historically significant games), and one of my early thoughts was whether a melee challenge would be worth a try. Checked YT, and here we are! Let's count each other as great minds, since we apparently thought alike, HAHA! Now, to resist spoilers... Side note: Subbed, due in part to your ability to deliver fun/impactful commentary while sounding neither frantic like a comically obnoxious salesman/youtuber/streamer, nor bland like a typical Ben Stein character. Well done!
Shanking enemies becomes much easier if you remap buttons for a modern control scheme with the emulator. It really freshens the experience. With and emulator like duckstation you can also improve the games look significantly. Awesome video btw.
haha yeah i think they reused the map/assets from the Attack Urban Center mission. There's a monorail in that but I guess people miss it if they're slugging it out at ground level
@@BlinJe As soon as I saw that rail I knew where you were, only thanks to that being my shield against Valkyrie's quick firepower and needing somewhere to avoid damage :3
@@BlinJe she mostly escapes mine because I forget that the less defense, stability, or something I have the more she pinballls me into a corner or the air until my AP hits 0, so far my one and only victory against her is by getting lucky after putting the heaviest of caterpillar legs on and latching on my back two plasma canons to push her around :3
I think it is funny how some people think 6 is difficult. The older games required perfect builds and perfect skills. You couldn't just youtube a play through or look up glitches or cheese moves. Many video games have given up on helping players grow. A good game should be challenging. YOU overcoming those challenges is like a sort of coming of age ritual.
I am in awe of FromSoft's robust game design that even this early in their history they made a blade run completely viable. The amount of extra effort the game and mission designers had to go through is commendable, and explains why they have found eventual fame and fortune. There are clearly millions of gamers that repect this attention to detail. Is that song that plays when Nine Ball appears in the final mission in the OST? Such a sick track!
